RIght now, I don't trust the XM5's because of my XM4 experience. Right now I feel betrayed by Sony because of the battery issue from XM4. Bose is the best option for me right now.
I'm in the same boat. I've gone through two xm4s so I'm getting ready to buy Bose but I keep hearing the Bose have connection issues. Smh why is there so many drawbacks with every earbud.

I’m here for the same reason. Right bud on the xm4 last 30mins and song refusing to fix or replace at their cost. I just want some decent sounding buds for gym/flights that actually last longer than a year or 2.
@@evolution5052 2 years. One bud has 70% when the other has already died. I loved the sound of them but they shouldn’t be useless after 2 years. My fight with Sony is still on going with this.

@@evolution5052 tbf theyre both really poorly tuned out the box. the sonys have a better built in eq which allows you to tune them better so id give sound to the sonys.
I like my Bose better. I'm not a bass head by any means but the XM5s lack that "umph" factor compared to Bose. The XM5s definitely have more clarity and sound separation though.
I have the bose ultras myself and regret buying them for how much i hate them after using them, sounds is ok not great (for price) anc is decent, charging them in the case can be such a hit or miss proposition, if you don’t have them site perfectly in the case they never charge. If I had a penny for every occasion when is fully charged and the other one is at 10% or dead. The app has always been horrible, can’t they come up with something better than this? Again, for the money this is bad, they should support multi access, i have been a long time Bose fan but these last two products really suck and as much as I hate the apple air max design (just downright weird design) moving from device to device and anc is outstanding, they are now my go to headset when WFH. Multi point access is a big deal for me but it always seems to be hit or miss lately
The app is terrible but I havent had to open the app since I made this review and I got all my settings done. It's certainly not an app you need to use everyday unless you want custom EQs for different types of music, which I suppose is possible.
Yes the ANC is incredible on the Bose, but the audacity to call them Ultra with , that kind of garbage mic quality 😢 i do a lot of calls, has Bose fix their mics on Firmware? Or is that due to garbage hardware used? 😢 a dealbreaker for me, but i want to buy Bose due to its fit and ANC.

After years of trial and error with all kinds of earbuds I've finally settled with the quiet comfort ultras. The stability bands didn't work at first and I almost returned the Bose until I discovered a different way to put them in. For me I have to angle the bands up into my ear first and gently twist forward until they feel snug, THEN gently push the ear tip into my canal. They never fall out.
That is good to know, Elijah. Thank you. My Bose buds are on the way and I was worried that they might not fit properly as I have struggled with earbuds in the past.
great review. thanks. I bought XM5 but no matter how hard I tried never fit my big ears. with spinfit and AZLA as well so gave away thinking of buying between Bose or Sennheiser TWS4 which one you'd recommend ?
I haven't yet tested the Sennheiser set, so I can't really comment there. That said, as mentioned in the video I think the wings on the Bose are really helpful for getting them to stay sealed in my ears so in my opinion they are worth a shot for you. The Sennheisers also have a small flange on them, so it may be a similar fit. Let me know if you end up trying and liking the Sennheisers!

@@jasonMB999 the XM5's have more detailed EQ control as I showed in the video. "more bass" in some ways is subjective. I like my bass to be punchy and articulate, not overwhelming. For that, the Bose win. YMMV on what you're looking for.
