Absolutely! In today's world, the thirties are definitely the new twenties. With advancements in healthcare, career opportunities, and lifestyle choices, many people in their thirties are embracing a youthful mindset while also benefiting from the wisdom and experience gained in their twenties. It's a time of exploration, growth, and self-discovery, and age is just a number! I’m a mama of two, and I'm loving every moment of feeling young!

Exactly I cannot take both mental and physical load as I used to do in my undergrad days ( of course just stepped into 30s). And it's so true that most of us won't realize how important our mental welbeing until something happened to you or your close ones. Moved to Ausi 2022 for my PhD, I was so into my studies then recently gone through a burnout. till that I did not realize I haven't been taking a good care of myself. Listning to you girls in my recovery phase. This feels so good like catching up with your girl friends❤

As always you guys are doing a banging job! 🎉 I just wanted to tell you that i looked back at myself and realized after i moved to canada my emotional intelligence has been improved quite a lot. When you guys talk about we used to agree what ever our adults say or do, it reminds me of myself. Like Desh mentioned i was also a very kind hearted person and i worried about what others would think. But now, i totally tell them straight if they are doing something wrong. But i feel like our(most srilankan) adults get offended when a younger person point them out their mistakes which is very sad. But in these first world countries, people are really open minded and willing to take feedbacks from others and fix/ improve whatever they are doing wrong (of course not everyone but the majority would do). Also i tend to escape from the people who destroy my inner peace which is the most important thing to me. Couple of years ago I was not the same. I let anyone destroy my peace and more worried about how they think about me. But no more😂 I think that is a strong skill we all gained living in a different country and going through a ton of challenges by ourselves. Good luck both! Keep it up! ❤

Loved the small part of Awurudu Celebration that you speak about. I just have small questions with curiosity. As I assume Shenali is christian or catholic not Buddhist right. Does christians celebrate awurudu and do all these චාරිත්‍ර? I just asked this cuz I loved to know how the diversity and things work out in different religions since I'm buddhist but would love to learn christianity as well.

Hello! Shenali here 🙋🏽‍♀️ Yes I am a born catholic however I am half Burgher half Sinhalese so my family and I have always celebrated Catholic and Buddhist festivals. However I don’t think Sinhala and Tamil new year is only for buddhists or Hindus. There’s lots of Tamils and Sinhalese who are Catholic who celebrate Christmas, and also Avurudhu ☺️ So yes, I have always celebrated everything! ☺️

Hi girls. Both of you have been living in Australia only for a few years so where is your accent coming from? Did you grow up speaking primarily in English in Sri Lanka? I hear a slight Australian accent when you speak so I am genuinely curious to know if you are “code switching” or come from an English speaking background. No hate at all. I have been wanting to ask this question for a while now.
