250k in a Toyota 2UZFE engine is like 100k on many other engines…

299,000 miles on my 2003 Z71 Tahoe and still going strong. She's no pavement princess either, I cross two creeks and rocky terrain to get in and out of my homestead everyday. Nice rig man.

When you get to 400,000 I will be impressed. One I work on regularly has 488000,

392,000 on my 2000 Tacoma. Bought it new in October of 1999 sold it for 7k January 2020. Original engine, overhauled Marlin Crawler transmission and rebuilt Nitro Gear rear differential..

I was just out for a ride in a Ford F-350 1 Ton V10 with just over 990,000 miles on it!!! Original motor never opened up but to do gaskets on the heads and oil pan. The transmission was rebuilt at 720,000 km. It’s an oil patch truck so has had no favours done to it other than very near perfect service intervals. There is rust in the wheel wells and rockers and probably not one body panel is without a dent including the roof! (Hail). They are out there for every brand, but I agree there may be more Toyota’s. That rear bumper is cheap enough to replace assuming you have not let the rot spread to the frame.

I sold my 05 tundra to my lawn guy with 400k miles on it. He pulls a trailer everyday with it now.

My 4runners 2005 has 200k. No rust, rot, rips, tears. Motor runs new. So I’m happy that this guy loves his truck, but that truck is kind of beat. I live in New England where rust is notorious. What I do to keep the rust at bay, is join a car wash for $19.99 / month unlimited washes. I do this from November through April. My 2016 Tacoma has been through 5 winters and the frame is like brandy new. Also, with Toyota, TFL should really start the viewer bragging at say 500 k or above. Still enjoy the video

240k miles on my 2002 Tundra 4.7 bought it in 2004 with 16k miles and only thing I ever had to replace was the o2 sensors and brake booster. Runs as smooth as the day I bought it and shifts like butter.

Maintenance is the key for any vehicle. Change fluids as recommended; fix things as they break; and keep things stock.

my 01 Sequoia has 250k and just had timing belt replacement/service done and feels much more responsive and engine doesn't feel as tired. Plan on doing some body work on it, paint etc...keeping it for another 10 years.

Just bought a 2006 Tundra SR5 CrewCab 2WD last November. Had 237000 miles when we bought it. Had the timing belt and water pump replaced when we bought it. Its been 100% reliable.

Beautiful truck! When in the market last year, I was looking for an '05/'06 Tundra. I couldn't find one without significant rust so I ended up going with an '08 F150. I love my truck, but still appreciate these old Tundras!

240,000 miles? Pffft. I remember my first oil change. Just kidding. Watch the seals and keep up on timing belts and standard service, and that truck will last three times that long. Also, get the frame treated to stop the rust, and put on the wax type coating. It will freeze it in time. Also, don’t wait for 10,000mikes between oil changes. Definitely move to 5k. Love the truck!

Got a 1996 T100 4x4 5 speed manual. It has 327,890 miles original motor and trans and clutch. Not a problem. Will probably go another 300k

2004 V8 4Runner 211,000 miles. I love it. I have taken care of it, but not babied it. Everything works and mostly original parts, all of the expensive ones anyway. I doubt that I will ever sell it.

There is an outstanding recall. All Toyota trucks from 1995-2004 have a Ball Joint recall. Front ball joints can fall out while driving. A very dangerious defect (It happend to my son) This icluded all the way from T-100, tacoma, 4runner,t undra and Highlander.

Try changing the ignition wires and see if that helps the coils. Possibly change the brand of coils, if you purchase cheap Chinese coils that might be the problem. The rust in the back with a boat indicates probable salt water damage. You keep sticking the back of the truck in water rust will come I would think.

I may have to review my Lexus GS400 for TFL. 227k miles and climbing. Not problem free, but still running pretty much perfect.

I had a 2001 Tundra 4x4 with the 4.7l V8 and that has been my favorite truck I've ever owned. I sold it early 2018 due to life being life. If I had it my way, I would have never gotten rid of it.

My 1999 4Runner is close to 350000 and still runs like a clock. Just the yearly maintenance on it and it will never leave you stranded.

Might want to change all of the remaining coils if they are going bad one after another. The misfires likely took out the catalytic converter. Keep it rolling down the road!

As a victim of 2004 Tacoma frame rust, I'm impressed because the truck is still in one piece.

Hell, my son drives a 2003 Taurus with 350,000 miles and nothing ever breaks on it. The third teen to drive it put 5000 miles on it last month alone. My 2001 Tacoma TRD threw a rod through the block at 113,000 miles. I still drive a little 2001 Focus with 260,000 miles on it everyday. I do love my Japanese vehicles and have run a repair shop for 30 years. People would be surprised just how long any car will last with a little maintenance. My US car customers never did any maintenance. Most all the Honda and Toyota owners did scheduled maintenance right in time religiously.

Mines got 247k, but requires a good bit to keep it going. Things are needing replaced faster than on my 01 ranger so 🤷‍♂️ do your maintenance for sure.

It is a great truck, probably the best ever made. Even better than later Tundras which are huge. But at this stage in its life it is most useful as a truck instead of a daily driver. It took $40k of gas to get to 250,000 miles and gas has gone up to near $4/gal yielding over a $100 fill up. You can buy a reasonably fuel efficient daily driver and pay for it with the savings in gas. You can use the truck when you need a truck and it will last forever since you aren't putting on a ton of miles each year.

Mine was a POS. Finally sold it for salvage because couldn’t fix Drive line issues. Saw 3 Toyota dealers. Had a Tacoma without problems but this POS sent me to buy a diesel Ford

At least he's honest about his repairs and replacements etc. Most Tundra owners don't let on anything wears out ever. My O7 Ranger with 210 000 miles has had a lot less repairs.

'04 Tundra. 298,xxx. Only ever had to change the plugs and a tranny solenoid. Still runs like a MF champ. I'll be driving this truck until the wheels fall off, and then I'll put some new ones on and keep on rolling 💪😁👍

by the looks of that bumper i'm surprised the frame looks so good. these trucks aren't known for their frames. they rot pretty bad.

My 2003 4runner V6 SR5 blew its engine at 280K. My 97 dodge ram 2500 Cummins 12 valve has 780K with no problems.

Here in the midwest..it isn't just high miles that kill vehicles, it's the bodies rotting away from rust. I have noticed that the big 3 seem to rust badly even in a decade. I've seen 10 year old Chevy pickups where you can put your finger thru the paint because the rust behind it has taken away solid metal... My 2007 ford focus i got rid of ...even 2 years ago it had holes in the rockers. I see a lot of 2010 or so Ford Fusions with the whole rockers about gone. Dodge trucks with holes in the rear quarters.

It's this first gen for me. Second gen is big and bulky, third gen...we'll have to wait a while to see what happens.

Catalytic converter, rack n pinion, 2 timing belts changes, turn ups, fuel pump, multiple coils, shocks... The interior has held up well... umm except for the seat that was actually used, that fell completely apart. Doest sound any more or any less reliable than a high mileage GM truck. Maybe the Toyota transmission is more reliable over time but i dont have expensive timing belt repairs every 100k.

I used to think Toyotas were until I moved into the Oil and coal country my son worked in the oil industry of North Dakota for many years and we have watched and owned many vehicles and watched them fail the Toyota did not survive well at all the worst we ever tested was a Nissan titan the best we ever tested was a Ford F2 50 that thing would never stop the drilling company my son worked for used Ford after many years of other units they went completely to the Ford this answered everything we needed to know about buying trucks in this region the roads are so rough potholes everywhere everything‘s frozen mud its undescribable and less you have worked in it very extremes carrying heavy loads in the back of the truck every day bouncing down 20 to 50 miles of dirt road it will tear a vehicle apart my son put $20,000 in his Nissan titan in one year but when we lived in Arkansas we had no problems with a Toyota Chevy whatever we wanted it did fine but in North Dakota and Alaska and even in South Dakota I am in the camper industry and when you pour constantly you really find out pretty quick what will hold up I know many other people on this feed who disagree with me and that’s perfectly OK everyone has different experiences and I’m glad they find something that works for them but I’m 50 years old now and have tested many vehicles in these industries and that’s my finding

I have a 99 jeep xj with 258000 miles and I just sold a 2007 jeep liberty with 229000 miles on it. Not planning on getting rid of my xj and the miles keep climbing. I purchased the 99 xj in 2007 with 65000 miles on it. Also just sold a 2005 pt cruizer with250000 miles and it left no spots on the concrete.

With proper maintenance they will get 500,000 miles.
