I don’t think it’s anti feminist to want to be a trad wife. Feminism is about womens right to choose what they want to do and how they want to live their life. If they choose to live this way and feel fulfilled by the life style, that is perfectly fine. I do however think the lines get blurred if these influencers try to push the idea that this is the only way women should live. Again as I say it’s all about choice, women should be able to choose whether they want to work, be independent etc, or if they want to be more of a traditional wife.
This is not a real thing. This has been created for social media responses. I guess I have bought in by posting this... Oh well.. at least I know it's not a real thing .
I have watched this video multiple times trying to understand your world perspective and I agree with you on a few things and disagree with you on a few things. First off, what is seen on social media as 'trad wives' is a romanticization of a tradition wife. They put on a specific aesthetic and as you mentioned play a role. I put forth almost anything you see on social media is not faithful to reality, it's a specific slice of life to glorify one thing or another. I was bothered by how you mention you are not a Christian scholar but constantly attached Christianity to the negatives in this video. I will be the first to say people misinterpret the Bible for their gain but in the end there is only one true way to view the Bible and it's message. Just don't forget, the Bible is what laid the foundation for the principle that everybody is equal. In opinion you tipped your hand a little when you said trad wives rob women of their values and one of the ways they do that is by taking away their ability to work; implying a woman derives her value from work. I believe if you want to see a true trad wife look at woman/families who live on homesteads, those are tradition families.
