I got back into traditional watches after seeing a mechanical watch for the first time. I thought all watches were battery 😅. I now appreciate them as an accessory, something to set a mood or setting to … a dive watch at the beach or dress watch at a formal occasion. I also appreciate the appearance of watches that appeal to me. Tc
If you mind only functionality, a $30 casio watch or smartphone on your hand would enough. But other than above , there are hobby, character, fashion, etc
Watches can be an extension of yourself. Functionality and looks are why I wear a watch. From dressy to sporty to diver, there is no end in watches. This is why I love watches. Also, modding is so much fun once you have the tools and time. Great video.
One think in particular I love about watches is that, to me, they are so much more interesting to look at that boring, bland looking smart watches, which, to me at least, have little or no character or creativity to their design. My favourite watches are G-Shocks as they are bold, non-conservative if you want them to be, and new models are coming out all the time. I find that most other watch designs are almost interchangeable as they look so similar.
Its so much more convenient to just look at your watch... then to pull out a phone to check the time.. Plus your boss probably isn't gonna like you checking your phone several times a day..
