Apologies for the mic noises! We aren’t sure what happened in this stream, but hopefully it’ll be fixed in the future :) Also, do you like seeing these clips from streams as they’re own videos?? 😁

I think the mic pops you were experiencing were audio latency artifacts. If my suspicions are correct then you could fix this problem by increasing your buffer size on your audio settings. Some audio interfaces allow very high audio sample rates but these are taxing on the computers CPU resulting in clicks and pops. A sample rate of around 44.1khz or 48khz should be more than enough for podcasting. For example industry standard for music on CDs was 44.1khz. Typically the higher sample rates are reserved for very high definition recordings and music production tasks. As far as the buffer size goes, 512ms is generally a good place to start. If there are still clicks and pops then increase the buffer size although pretty much any modern computer should handle 44.1khz with 512ms buffer with ease providing there are not other CPU intensive programs running at the same time If the audio settings were much higher than this and the computers CPU was old or overloaded there’s a chance that was the issue you experienced. Or I could be completely wrong because audio is hard! Thanks for the great content guys!

I would like that too. It could be another way to make the Aragorn films a trilogy. And a way to bring back Viggo. So the early adventures are framed in the context of him telling them to his son. But we could also see Karl Urban return as King and their adventures and battles together.

I agree. Especially because it is one of the portions of the story it feels less people cherish so it'll let people get a feeling and hopefully be part of the learning curve for WB

Younger actors do deserve a chance but I look at actors that have passed away. You have to make the most of these legendary actors. If done right CGI can work really well, worked really well for marvel when they did Robert Downey Jr n Michael Douglas look younger

The thing is, I could see how a Young Aragorn trilogy might work: 1) Aragorn in Rohan; 2) Aragorn in Gondor; and 3) Aragorn's Journeys into the East and South. Alternnately: 1) The Errantries of Aragorn; 2) The Great Journeys of Aragorn; and 3) The Search for Gollum. Or even: 1) Aragorn: The Errantries; 2) Aragorn: The Great Journeys; and 3) Aragorn in the Fourth Age.

I made a video debunking the news! yesterday. It seems there is no talks confirmed with peter jackson or even about a new trilogy or new movies...they are obligated to "multiple" movies to be in production in the next 10 years...it means we could wait more than that to get a movie released and it can be another animated movie. (although Embracer spent alot of money so they want to make some...) from embracer site - "This specific partnership aims to create long-term value for Embracer Group and is expected to have limited effects in the short term." meaning no coming soon movies....

“Coming soon” means what timespan? I don’t expect anything in 2024 or 2025. But I would hope 2026. And I would have higher expectations for a release of something in 2027.

I understand wanting the same actors to play their characters, but we need to be realistic. It's been over 20 years, and that's just not possible anymore. Even in The Hobbit the actors had aged noticeably. Also, multiple movies can work depending on the situation. If they're just stretching it out, like with The Hobbit, then no. But with young Aragorn, you can have a separate film for each major adventure of his life. You could have one about his adventures as a young ranger, one about his service to King Thengel in Rohan, another about his service to Ecthelion of Gondor, and so forth.

What I'd love (I know this is neither canon nor will it happen but I dream) in The Hobbit, Thranduil tells Legolas to seek out Aragorn. Given that in this universe, 17 years were skipped, that puts Aragorn in what, his 20s (I think. Hope my math is right). I believe it would work as a show, not a movie, but a show of them being bros and having adventures. I know not canon but I think that could be fun

Personally, I would like some stories set in the 4th age. It's ripe for expansion and there's less of a chance to screw up established characters and stories. It might be the pessimistic approach to this news, but recent history has given me a reason for that way of thinking.

I think Young Aragorn does lend itself to a trilogy. He has enough adventures. So it would be a trilogy the way the MCU does it. So we’d have to have an origin story of sort, tied into early adventures, but then the next movie is his time in Rohan, and the next is his time in Gondor. I wouldn’t want Gondor to be stretched over 3 movies, but each movie it’s own adventure and you could keep going. One of his travels further south and East. His hunt for Gollum, but that would really need to be the last one.

I'm happy to see new films overall but I'd rather see Balrogs, dragons, Ungoliant, Witch King etc. Having the focus on just Aragorn seems lame considering what is available to work with.

I don't think anything from the Fourth Age would be advisable. There is so little material, the screenwriters would essentially have to make it up, and there's a good possibility we'd end up with another Rings of Power abomination. There is so much material available from the Third Age (like how the Northmen came down from the North and became the Rohirrim, the War in the North and the creation of the Barrow Downs, Tom Bombadil, etc). It would be grand if they'd make some films set during the Second Age as well, to show Amazon how it ought to be done.

If they do a "young Aragorn" story I just hope they do a better job than Solo did for "young Han". I would rather that they did movies about the Fall of Arnor/Rise of Angmar history, or something set in Dale and Erebor that culminates in the Siege of Erebor. They need to bring in new characters and new stories, not try to revisit old ones, I certainly agree with your thoughts on that.

I would prefer BY FAR movies involving the Angmar Wars than a young Aragorn. That choice could also perhaps be the best choice to try to recapture the magic of the LOTR trilogy. Just make sure that they use cgi correctly, unlike The Hobbit.

I am expecting more disappointment as the previous films, both trilogy options, were absolutely awful and the small amount of the series was actually worse than the films were, so I shall not be holding any of my breath and not going to be putting any money in the franchises pockets because I have no interest in supporting the production of more shit like was done with the Lord of the Rings.

@@rich7331It is important to respect the author. One can avoid Rings of Power, for example, but it's still a disservice to the spirit of the books. I, for one, am very, very, very skeptical about another good movie (esp. these ideas about "making up" stories. What a horrible idea!).

i don't know how to feel about the news. I'd love to see another LOTR movie but i know it will be full of gender, identity politics, race arguments and activists putting there weird views etc into the mix just like every other movie TV show that's been released over the past few years

There's a ton of stories to tell that's true but how many that watch these are gonna even know its canon? Or how many people are gonna complain about something that wasn't included or anything that was added on for time's sake? My thing with this is odds are anything that comes out is just gonna meet backlash like The Rings of Power did.. at this point it's because there's basically 2 different fan bases; the movie fans and the die hards, and maybe a small handful like me like that read the books and just doesn't care as long as there's a visual lmfao. And it's almost ironic because it truly comes down to a lack of understanding from the fan base when it comes to copy right and licensing laws 🤦

I think we could handle different actors playing our favorite characters. Look at all the Batmen we've had over the last years, and Spidermen, and Sherlock Holmses, Captain Kirks, and even Spocks. I think one of the big questions is about who they're looking to attract. Are they after us, the nerds who know the LotR lore and will want stories that are true to it? Or are they after the GoT crowd, in which case we're going to have to accept more wildly un-Tolkieny nonsense? I think the young Aragorn idea could have been a great series of shows with a smaller scale than movies. And I think if Viggo ever plays Aragorn again, it should be as Elessar in the Fourth Age.

Not really excited about any of this. LOTR films were a masterpiece. The Hobbit ranged from ok to pretty disappointing. And the Amazon show was a travesty. I couldn’t make it past the first 2 episodes. Young Aragorn? Sounds awful. Maybe…. MAYBE, I could get on board with bringing something from the silmarillion to life. But surely by now we have learned the farther we get from the source material the worst it is.

I do not like this. The only way I’d be ok with a movie is if they can find a story with lots of source material. There is probably only a few pages at most that Tolkien wrote about Aragorn growing up. That means these WB will just be making up their own story. There is not enough source material. Bad idea.

Yeah. As far as they're concerned having hobbits in the story many centuries early isn't a canon violation, but a dark-skinned person is as out of place as a Starbucks in Rivendell. But it's all about the lore, you understand, not their own prejudices.
