It's not mold!!! It's Patina! It's a chemical reaction due to the copper being in the elements. It's 100% normal and sometimes even done intentionally with acid, it adds to the longevity!!
The Statue of Liberty doesn’t have mold 😂😂 it’s the oxidation of the copper (the mineral changing due to oxidation aka the air). Your heart was in the right place ❤
Patina. The statue is covered in a beautiful patina, not mold 😂 it used to be bronze like a penny (1886) but it took 30 years (1906) for it to be covered in the oxidation, which will preserve it for centuries. It’s made of copper and bronze. I would have loved to talk to the amazing, talented humans that sculpted the Statue of Liberty. 🗽

The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Funny I knew the approximate date from watching the movie American Tail rather than actually having knowledge 😂😂😂😂.
The statue of liberty was given to us by France during the AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!! i happened to know that cuz i was just helping my 6th grader with his homework!!! Haha
