Are We Tired Of Narrowboat Cruising?! Almost In London Grand Union Canal 

I have subscribed and been following your for quite a while, but never comment. Now that cottage with the red phone box and simple boat canal side would be MY idea of ideal…..at 76 ad 81 doing all of those locks would be too much for us, even though we are very active and healthy…. I would be sitting out there greeting you Narrowboaters as you pass by! Lovely!

Living in western part of Norway my whole life i’am used to deep fjords and high mountains. I must say the English countryside , slow canals big old oaktrees grassing cows in the meadows has a romantic calming effect on me. You folks got a truely beutyful countryside. Wish you guys all the best and a great summer.

Love all of the videos and use wish my wife were still alive so that we could spend a couple of years traveling together through the canals, but I would want to do it on a widebeam canal boat. I know that limits me to certain sections of the canals, but knowing my wife and myself, we would need the room and we would be having family joining us at different times. The two of you deserve a break once you reach London, but don’t give up the canal life, just take a break from the videos for brief period of time for those of us who are hooked on your videos. 👏🏽👍🏽❤️🎉

Wow! That's a TON of traveling by narrowboat. It's no wonder you're tired of cruising. This sort of lifestyle obviously takes a lot of hard work and patience. Kudos to you both for setting and keeping such lofty goals.

You seem to have been traveling for ages alongside the West Coast Main Line. It shows the original canal builders did a good job of choosing the route, as the later railway builders copied it. Great shot of a Pendolino at Apsley!

Lived this vlog. I am a volunteer lock keeper at Cowley so sorry not to have been able to help you through. I live near Uxbridge so just a pedantic point - Coca Cola have their UK head office in Uxbridge but no manufacturing. As a Watford FC fan also loved the pics of the ground etc. Bought Argy Bargy before Christmas and really enjoy playing it. Looking forward to the final part of your trip to London.

We are three couples from Sweden that bought our Argy Bargey at Kate Boats and we have had many fun times during are two weeks journey on the canals.

I'm old enough to remember travelling by steam trains and traveled many times on Southern Railways double decker. Electric trains were green all over, pre the yellow fronts.

From Marsworth going south the canal follows three river valleys; the Bulborne, the Gade and finally the Colne. This is why it’s so direct.

You should write up more to tell where you are, the Apsley marina gave me the only clue. Saves having to watch all the boring bits, but still get an idea of where you are.

lol i always give it a bit of dancing when your music comes on, why the fuck do i do that? it's cos the music is damn cool, that's why! that's a really nice bit you've been down. are you going to brentford or paddington (or limehouse?)? sorry if you already said. the Hanwell locks are a lot prettier than Acton, wow. but at the same time, getting to paddington would quite possibly be surreal. enjoy :o)

Hmm... I crammed 300 miles in 21 days and walked it all (over sheep-hills! Offa's Dyke Path end to end + Cotswolds Way). Just ODP has more elevation gains than Mt. Everest, lol. (and over 600 stiles to climb! By the end of the day you can't lift your feet over them!) But I was averaging more than 1.5 mph, lol. I've been wondering how far I could go along flatish towpaths. I think the absolute easiest bits I had was walking along the (disconnected) Montgomery and a bit of the Llangollen into Chirk.

This sounds like there is a whine behind this and I apologize. When you reach your goal, will you get to hang out for awhile? Are you going to be able to spend much time around London when you get there? Is it something you enjoy doing? If you DO enjoy it and you get to spend time there, it would be okay with me if you decided to do a couple of London vlogs. Show us how she is situated on the canal and show us around. Although your videos are not served up, made to order and I have enjoyed every one of them. And I don’t mind seeing the same canal twice so not asking for something new. Just saying that I would enjoy seeing what kind of trouble you might get into in London or Nottingham or whatever/wherever. I saw a narrowboat in Little Venice (I think they called it) in London. It seemed like the perfect location but I don’t think it is still out there. But I am perpetually curious and just saying that it would be okay with me if you pointed your camera towards the city while you are there. And there IS a bit of a whine, some back peddling and redundancy. Don’t mind me. Just a mushy brain day.
