Thank you for these insights into the variety of emotional responses and giving 'negative emotions' their proper place, including providing the powerful methodology on how to work with them
Thank you for sharing this deep investigation into the nature of anger and for providing a potent methodology for working with our patterns of emotional addiction. 🙏
Thank you for this. I am immediately reminded of what you have said also about the breakdown of tendencies through Transcendence and neuroplasticity and how this can also relate to the desireable mutability of the entire gamut of emotions as part of our full human experience….
“When it pisses Cats and Dogs!” Igor, you do make me laugh 😂. Perhaps one of the reasons I’m so angry is that I live near Manchester where it pisses it down even more! I have an unfulfilled desire for sunshine ☀️☀️
sometimes someone compulsively pushed into fight response might be seen heroic than someone pushed into freeze response (though both conditioned compulsions or even we fight to prevent embarrassing ourselves with a freeze response) but genuine work is to let unselfconscious response arise (or have the capacity for it) when one encounters their own conditioned compulsiveness like fight, flight or freeze. I think. IMO.
Thanks for the clarifying response to the questioner and straightening up the matter on Anger. (I also responded to gailmills comment on the 3 gunas, if anyone is interested). To the reader and follower of Igor, i would highly recommend getting the book Yoga and Ayurveda by David Frawley. It will provide hundreds of fundamental clarifications over the years (and I plan to review a chapter a day again myself soon, at a different level of evolution and understanding now. Thanks to this video for triggering it). On the topic of this video, there are a couple pages in the book where by the reader can understand the matrix of 3 doshas vs. 3 Gunas. Equating Pitta dosha with the Fire element (dominant in Pitta), briefly: Sattvic Pitta: higher quality of intelligence, shining like sun for everyone. Natural leaders for growth and development Rajasic Pitta: Driven but selfishly. Prone to anger, intolerance. Controlling, reckless, vain Tamasic Pitta: destructive,. Violent. Hostile to anyone in their way. Criminal leaders. Paranoid, psychopathic. Similar Guna based descriptions (and longer than mine) for Vata and Kapha. Hope this helps with the appreciation that Fire element is not the issue, rather the Guna influencing the Element. A sattvic fire is in fact necessary to digest and assimilate subtle spiritual topics. The book is worth buying just for the 2 pages on the above. It also talks about the 7 types of Agni (fire) in respective chapter from Digestive Fire ..... Chidagni (Consciousness), Brahmagni (Divine Agni). Fire is beautiful!!! Please do not let Rajas hijack Agni as anger (and Tamasic Fire = Rage means things are really bad and need immediate course / Guna correction). 🙏
