Omg I absolutely adore little Athena, just want to give her a big cuddle 🥰. This hobby is definitely addictive and I don’t think I have a particularly addictive nature, but the highs and lows of adrenaline are so immense. I feel like a kid at Christmas every time I get a baby I just love love love it 😂. Finances are tight so I have to sell to buy and that also breaks my heart 💔. But there is nothing like it, the best hobby in the world. Love your chats and your gorgeous babies 😘
Awe thank you much!! Yes, it's the same for me "I usually have to sell to buy" & I did a whole lot of that my first couple of yrs. It felt like a revolving door of babies, but I just enjoyed so much bringing a new baby home & also seeing different sculpts & artists work. I think the saving grace of the heart break of selling is to know that a new Mommy is going to get to love & enjoy that baby. That makes it bearable! Lol BIG HUGS!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Yessss I 100% agree with you! It's very addicting. I'm a new collector & since November I've bought 13 babies now 🫣 obviously I also have an addictive personality too lol.

Hi, thank you so much! Yes Kymberlee is ok. She had moved & other things in life took priority over painting & doing the RU-vid, but all good things in life! I hope one day she will paint again as her babies are absolute magic, but not sure that she will. If your able to get your hands on one of her babies on the second market , hang onto it! Lol
What a great topic!! I agree, the box opening part of this hobby totally takes me back to that feeling of Christmas when I was little!! And, I can also see how it can be addictive!! As I'm familiarizing myself with who and what I like in these beautiful dolls though, I've noticed my price range is slowly increasing. LOL!!!! Is this common?? (I'm only 5 months into this hobby 😁) Also, there are certain reborn artists who's work I prefer over others, and I've become a lot more selective with my purchases!! For me, that's a really good thing because I don't have a room I can turn into a nursery where I currently live, so I have to keep myself in check, so-to-speak. LOL!! 🤣💝

I do just about the same things lol always looking for that next baby and "craving" the box opening 😅 it may sound silly to some but it's SO darn true in this hobby. And I too have learned over time what I like and what I dont... I've purchased so many and sold them until I started to find the right ones for me.. and now I can't let go of what I have... and that's how I know when a baby is special to me ... when I think of selling and then can't even bring myself to list it for sale... plus since these type of dolls are ooak.. just knowing that if you did miss the baby that much you can never find that exact one again..just puts even more thought into what you choose to do ... I hope I'm making sense here 😆 . I love the few I have now.. and I've become more selective .. because of a few reasons... money space time and just being content with what's in front of me helps alot too. 💯 but I totally understand this entire conversation.. it was great to listen to. Oh your making perfect sence! I think that's pretty much where I'm at now. I'd become more & more selective as I got to know my preferences. Most of the babies I have now are keepers & yes time, space & money also plays a factor, as well as enjoying what's in front of you. I think it's interesting all the stages we go through in the hobby that we each can relate to when we've been there! It's what keeps this hobby always exciting as we grow in it & enjoy seeing others grow in it as well! 🥰🤗😘😘
My 25yr old son just passed away 11-23-22. And usually I don't handle my fbs Willow by Claire Taylor very often but since my son passed my doll has been some comfort. I do also have a reborn but just never really got a bond with it. If I could afford it I would have a silicone made to look like my son but they are pretty pricey. Those outfits are cute that you bought and your baby looks so cute in that outfit.

@Piximommys Reborns he was a organ and tissue donor and saved people's lives. I hope and pray I can meet these people in person one day. Especially the one who got his very loving and caring heart. I did have him cremated so if I ever move he will always be with me. On February 4th 2023 I am holding a memorial/celebration for him cause I want everyone to remember him for who he was. Thank you so much for you loving and kind words. 😘
