@@alexnantz3606 it was my absolute honor to contribute. AYAOTD has been one of my all time favorite shows since I was 8. I may have grown up, but I never stopped loving the series. And it's been a pleasure to share it with my own kids.

I feel like most of my friends can't relate or don't wanna talk about these things and it was such a huge part of my childhood, DNA, and who I am as a person today it's great to have a platform where others can relate and relive all these gems both in the past, and now bring it all together in the present. I’m just coming across this and I must thank you for putting this together! This really brought back so many memories for me in terms of enjoying the show itself as well as remembering that time period and what things were like then. I’ll admit that I almost teared up due to that nostalgic factor & thinking about how things evolve overtime in life. This period seems worlds away now but I do hold the memories in my heart. The nostalgia is real! We on occasion would get overwhelmed and tear up too! Moments like this are truly special to us and happy to hear that it resonates with others too! The 90's were a magical time that can never be replicated. Thankfully through stories like the ones shared here and reviewing some of the staples of pop culture, they can live on in some form.

Thank you for hosting this reunion and thanks to the cast and crew who took the time out of their day to reunite and reminisce! Are You Afraid Of The a dark held a special place in my childhood and I anticipated watching a new episode every Friday or Saturday night as a kid. One question that I’ve always wanted to know is if there were any stories from the AYAOTD book series (those books that were never made into episodes) that came close to being turned into an episode? Or were there ever any lost episodes/stories that were prepared but never filmed? I’m extremely curious to see what stories were ‘lost’ and what could have been!
Thank you for the support. In response to your question, I had a NickSclusive with D.J. MacHale a few weeks ago and asked him a very similar question. According to him, the books that were produced was not by the same team that did the show. So there was no attempt to bring those books to the small screen. As for lost episodes, there really weren't any. That would try some ideas and if they couldn't make them work in terms of story, they would scrap them. If you want to hear some of those ideas check out the NickSclusive. I will send a link in a moment.
One of my fave ayaotd episodes of all time is tale of apartment 214 !! Its so scary as a kid and even as an adult hahahaha how they made it to air as a childrens show at the time amuses me really ! 😂😂 but i guess you can do anything in the 90's back then huh ! 😂😂😂
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the episode of zeebo the clown cause that is the one most people remembered and I always thought of zeebo the clown as the mascot for are you afraid of the dark just like how slappy was for goosebumps. that will always be my favorite episode cause he played a big part of my childhood and still is a part of my life cause I used to draw pictures of zeebo the clown when I was a kid and I still have them. I even still dream about that clown still to this day but in a good way. some people who say they are afraid of clowns normally say it's cause of Pennywise the clown from the movie IT but then I tell them he is nothing compared to zeebo the clown cause now that is a true terrifying clown more than Pennywise. it's funny cause it's like the creators themselves never forgot about him either cause they referenced him in so many other episodes. the one about Crimson the clown the kid buys a video game that has zeebo the clown on it and I so wish that game existed. zeebo the clown was even again referenced in the reboot where someone was dressed as zeebo the clown. again he was never forgotten and at the end of that animation aside from 2 of the pins that were in there showing him they showed him one last time in the sky with the picture all messed up and his laughter one last time before ending it which was perfect. I have to thank you guys for creating such a memorable character from the show for my childhood which I sometimes still get emotional cause he basically did the opposite for me unlike with some people he would still scare shitless to this day and maybe me but in a good way. I would hug that clown if I got the chance to. thank you are you afraid of the dark cast and crew and nickelodeon and thank you zeebo for being a part of my childhood and for never leaving me to this day.
Oh, they very much are. It was as special time in their lives they can fondly look back on :) We actually have another AYAOTD-themed episode coming up soon, so that'll be fun for listeners too.

Being 30 years removed from the show, it was an especially challenging task to round everyone up for such an occasion. In addition to members like Raine Pare-Coull (Betty Ann) and Codee Wilbee (Stig) having a very private life now, some of the MS members are simply "too famous" to do little events like this, or would rather dissociate with the IP: Jacob Tierney, Rachel Blanchard, and Joanna Garcia, as an example. We reached out to others like Nathaniel Moreau and Jodie Resther for this event, but they either had schedule conflicts or never got back to us. As much as it would be amazing to see everyone together again, sometimes it's just not feasible: Life gets in the way. However, this is the absolute best we could do, and NO ONE, ANYWHERE has been able to accomplish this feat before or since, so it's still a joy to see some form of the cast and crew assemble for the Anniversary 😌
@@SplatAttackPodcast hmm i wonder what you meant by " too famous" though ? I believe if oprah was a cast on ayaotd then she would still had shown up on this reunion as big as she is now Its kinda sad really because we would surely like to see all of them reunited ! 😢

That would be great. Or if they found a way to really utilize the old cast with a new cast for a fun mini series. The new seasons aren't too bad. But there is still room for improvement.
This podcast was awesome. Are you afraid of the dark was a cool show it made snick. The intro was creep. I do have favorites like the pinball episode the computer virus, the girl who died in the school chemistry lab and the creep monster from the pool. The clown episodes never bothered me since I never had a fear of clowns.that belongs to my uncle Brent. I did have a small crush on Ross hall for a time. I will say the shows never gave me nightmares or kept me up. That honors belong to unsolved mysteries show that messed me up
Okay on sold with that intro ... bc you didn't use anything new. I like a very specific nickelodeon pre cat dog. I searched for a video like this specifically and I'm intrigued.
