28 correct. This is more of a general knowledge test rather than a memory test. If you grew up in a different culture than the North American culture, you might get only 7 correct even if you have an excellent memory.
Yes, I'm Australian and most of these questions wouldn't be common knowledge here amongst people in our age group. Though I did quite well anyway because I'm interested in politics and culture.
I agree, this is more common knowledge than memory, and also when asking what year anything happened and you put three consecutive years, that’s silly. Even if someone knows all about the subject matter, including the year (more or less), it shows good memory and knowledge base-the EXACT year is unimportant in most cases. Yet the person is judged incorrect on that question.
Absolutely. It's not a memory test if you never knew the information to begin with. This was heavily weighted with questions about movies and bands. If you weren't "into" that stuff, you would not have ever known the answer.
Quite an easy quiz-got 28-the commentator mispronounced Shirley Chisholm's name and also Anthony Burgess's. She called Chisholm Chrisholm or something and botched Burgess also to a lesser extent. And Buffalo Bob was the host. The puppet was Howdy Doody. Many of the questions were very easy.
also mispronounced mary Quant (KWONT not Quaint). The test is mostly US-centric though... Living in Australia, I've only heard of Howdy Doody and some other popular culture references in movies.
I agree, she made quite a few mistakes in pronunciation. She is not alone, this happens in most of these trivia questions. Please hire someone who knows how to pronounce properly!
Easiest of all the trivia quizes, I've seen on You Tube. I also got 28. I missed two questions about what year something occurred. She (Ms. Bot) mispronounced several things,
yes they are memory questions, but only of a specific culture, and category. They are more like dreams. Not reality. Most people back then lived a dream... compared to them I lived a nightmare. I don't equate any real meaning of any of this stuff significant. I lived through most of it. It was CIA plot to turn minds to trash.
Thank you, I agree. How can you remember something you never knew. Case in point. I never knew that Buffalo Bob was a puppet. Oh wait. He wasn't. He was the live host of the show.
25, but I'm only 50, quite a few guesses, but to be fair a lot of the questions are US- centric. Our version of The Price is Right, in the UK will always be associated with Leslie Crowther, and later Bruce Forsythe.
This is a trivia test not a “memory” test. Since this was a quiz for seniors, I would have preferred it narrated by a senior. For the reason that there is much unfamiliarity in your voice with each question. Stumbling on words, mispronunciations, misinformation, and it was clear that you were reading, and not familiar with the Content. Nothing personal, but the show did not fit the host. A tip: when you read the answer to the question, simply read the answer. Do not proceed each answer with “that is” or “the answer is”. The repetition becomes mundane and boring sounding.
Got all answers correct. That said, Anthony Burgess' last name is pronounced with a hard G (as in "George"), not a guttural G. Chisholm is pronounced with the "CH" you would use for "Cheese". Sorry, old, and can't overlook things like that.
I was reading some of the comments. Someone wrote that they didn't get some of the questions with dates because they were high during those years. I think that person was the one who passed out the brown acid at Woodstock.
6 wrong… three were dates (I often don’t even know what day it is… because I don’t care) and three were just stuff I never heard of. So, as far as memory goes, almost 100% lol.
You're are absolutely right. It's whether or not you know the answer. It's like Jeopardy, either you knew it then and remember, OR you didn't know it then and you don't fucking know it now. LOL Mary E Lee can kiss my ass! Be in a home! I'm sharper now at 70 than I was at 50.
One thing you've got wrong. This test is for the ones that are from 70 to 100. I am 60 and it is impossible for me to anything that had happened in the first half of 70's, the 60's and certainly not the 50's.
22 out of 30, some was due not not watching TV or going to movies and working two to jobs and an 3rd on weekends. I had two set of twins 10 months apart.
I am82, from South Africa and missed the questions based on American TV shows. still managed 26/30 though. I agree with previous comments about name mispronunciations !
I don't know if is a good memory or just intuition but was able to respond correctly to 28 questions. I didn't realize that still I have a " memory " ! Thank you for a FAST and very entertaining video! Siempre Almaaa
True! That's a game people created that involves the Beetle. Proper research (Buffalo Bob) and proper pronunciation (Chisholm) were a bit lacking here.
Oh, the one on the Clockwork Orange the one writer they had as Sylvia Path. That is wrong. It's Plath. My granddaughters last name. Their dad is a distant cousin of hers.
Missed 4 am 72yrs.,,,most questions are in the entertainment area,, for which I had little interest growing up,liked songs/music but could've cared less about writers etc. didn't even have a tv most of my childhood!...I honestly don't think the questions here reflect upon wether ones memories are in good shape!
