I have slightly unusual request for both the guests. It is very apparent that both are extremely well read. What fascinates me is their ability to pull out relevant snippets of information from various books that they have read. I am interested in the way they process these books. I am sure they must have a note taking methodology. I know that Amit uses Roam Research. I am curious about how they highlight their texts and then how do compile them in a way that they create connections. I would be interested in listening to them on this topic

Petition to make The Seen and The Unseen also a video podcast. It has huge potential.

Nopes. 8 hour podcast is only viable when you can do sth else that is non-brainy while listening to it. Video podcast takes away that pleasure & flexibility.

@@waqarhussain7924 I think it can be both video and audio, so the option exists for those who might want it. The chapters are also especially useful to sift through specific topics of conversation (but I have a feeling Amit might not be keen on making chapters of TSATU).

@@waqarhussain7924like what's wrong in just putting a camera or two as they speak and upload that as well. What if there are people that will consume it

@@waqarhussain7924disappointing that Amit seems to not intend to release an audio only podcast version. Video is incompatible with other activities unlike audio. I remember amit retweeting tweets about people listening to TSATU on long drives, workouts etc. Wonder how many do the same with the video

CORRECTION: Tax department cases can be appealed in quasi judicial and judicial forums as well. Though yeah it starts with the appeal of a seperate dept (appeals) which is not really designed to be independent. Attention to ITAT. PS: I work in this domain so just added the small caveat. Really great show, keep up the good work

Another great episode. I loved the bit about increasing life spans and how it can give us more time and opportunities for learning and growth. As someone who is starting a new career from scratch in my 30s, I found this very encouraging and reassuring. Thank you Ajay and Amit

Amit, brilliant take on Identity, Persona, & Multitudes. Just amazing. Especially for India, in India, during these times, at the cusp of GDP expansion, for people trying to tackle diverse knowledge bases (aka XKDR) to do something amazing, a very timely reminder. Loved it.

You might want to check out Lex Fridman's show, he hosts a popular show predominantly about AI and cognitive science. He publishes his episodes in both formats, as a youtube video and as an audio podcast episode.

A great light bulb moment-you can always start afresh as you may live a healthy life till 100-120 years. Do whatever you always wanted to do. Don't restrict yourself to one version of you. Like a snake, drop old skin and start afresh.

Judging an investor based on conviction rate is a high-powered incentive. Is my understanding of the concept “high-powered incentive” correct? Ajay, you have extensively written against this, saying that such policies can bring unintended consequences. Have you considered the downsides of the policy that you are suggesting?
@CatsBatsRatsGnats
@CatsBatsRatsGnats Год назад
It is one thing to measure. It is a different story when this is used for carrot and stick. If the prosecutor was paid a powerful bonus based on getting a high win rate, that would be a high powered incentive. And that could well generate unintended consequences.

The criminal procedure code is a great piece of legislation. Has several checks and balances. Sadly the people in the ecosystem have ruined the system. Same with the code of civil procedure. Indians don’t like to follow rules :(.
@CatsBatsRatsGnats
@CatsBatsRatsGnats Год назад
Indians placed in settings like the UK nicely follow rules. The fault lies in the rules. CrPC needs rethinking, and there are numerous other elements of the "invisible infrastructure" of the criminal justice system that come together to make it a mess.
