For information on correcting hunched-over posture while walking check out our video "How To Stop Walking Hunched Over! 5 Best Fixes"- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fXSYDzbJAck.htmlsi=fJwJmY9yczOLCFvw
Please make a video of how to walk upright using a rollator and how to avoid banging legs against the seat or seat-support bar. Also, it would be helpful to know what height is best for the handles. Thank you.
My neck hurts so bad that I do that exercise that I learned from you previously. It has helped tremendously. I haven't had a migraine since I started doing it.
This week, someone took a picture of my granddaughter, daughter and myself. I was shocked when i noticed my shoulders forward, slumped. I know it is from my chronic pain, but no excuse for me to allow this. THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION. So very appreciated.
@@ChittarupaYoga, yup, my sisters and I did that, too. We also took ballet lessons which surely helped us have good posture. Now, however, MS, Adhesive Arachnoidis, and severe arthritis have all conspired to take my posture away.
@@Sandcastleprincess I would love one, but the initial weight loss reduction required is ridiculous, and nigh on impossible given the size and weight of them in the first place. A grim catch 22.
I went to a PT for upper back pain expecting to get an earful about being hunched over and I was surprised that the first thing she suggested was adjusting the tilt of my pelvis by pulling my tail bone down. She did also give me some similar exercises for the shoulder and back, but the pelvic thing really shocked me.
You are very welcome! I have added this to our to do list! Also, here are some more videos that may be useful for you: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=stretch%20arch%20feet
Thanks. I'm going to connect a speaker to a motion sensor so that every time you walk by it says, "Stop slouching. You look like an old man." I'll be selling it for $19.95.
How about one that says an old woman!!😂 We do it too!! I've had 2 different discs herniated. While they do heal in time they can leave you with this bad habit.
I have been watching some bone density exercise youtubes and some of these exercises are the same. A picture was taken of me at a gathering and I was shocked to see how hunched over I was. I'm on this!! TY for another great video!
HAMSTRING stretch is another key piece needed to aid in haunch feeling, it can help loosen up the muscles that go along the spine and also breathing more people that have hunch posture and traditional Chinese medicine shiatsu tend to be more of the five element of metal element so they open up their shoulders and breathe more get outside take some dance lessons go see live music do extroverted activities spontaneous less overthinking more vitamin D usually more iron is needed mineral balancing she is very effective using meridians The Way of Wellness Massage
I'm completely unable to do these wall or floor practices successfully because I have a strong curvature in my upper back resulting from the vertebrae being (for whatever reason) somewhat conical rather than cylindrical. I've seen this on an MRI. I believe it may be what is called Scheuermann's kyphosis. It's not pretty, but I'm approaching 80, and it doesn't cause me any pain or discomfort. I wonder if anyone else suffers (if that's the right word) from a similar condition. I have mentioned it here before.
As an old English teacher, I agree, but i wouldn't want to lay down the law to a Nobel literature laureate. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LhzEsb2tNbI.html
Hey Bob and Mike, have you ever used "cupping" therapy on hamstring injuries/tendonitis just behind the knee instead of the cross fiction machine? Thanks!
A video is how I first saw that my back was hunched. So definitely working on getting straight again. (And a bit surprised and disappointed that it never occurred to my doctor to mention that I was so bent. Just measured my height and told me I was getting shorter, but without mentioning the hunch.)
Recently my sister-in-law retaliated to my disapproval that she and my brother chose to go to her nephew's wedding, rather than stay for my mom's funeral, by saying if i didn't do something about my posture, I'd soon spend my life staring at the ground. Thanks for pointing out it was a rude remark.
Brad, I have your and Bob's massage hammer and really like it. However, I'm not so keen on the vibrations felt in the hand that holds it. Any suggestions as to how to mitigate these effects?
I’ve been doing these exercises and exercises with bands in the evenings for my posture and realise it was giving me chronic reflux the next morning so now I make sure I do them early in the day.
I have MS and use a rollator for balance when walking. I have good posture when sitting and standing. But the design of rollators make it extremely difficult to not bend over. If I take average size steps, my legs (just above the knee) bang into the seat which is uncomfortable. This does not happen when I bend over. If the handles on rollators were longer, we'd be able to walk slightly further back and avoid this problem. Any suggestions?
@@louisel5009, I've purchased and used many rollators in the 16 years that I've needed one. Some seats do not fold up. The ones that do, have a bar for the seat to rest on when the seat is down. So I'm banging into that bar instead. Since it's a metal bar, that's worse than bumping into the seat.
@@funwithfido2430 Sorry that doesn't work for you. Maybe because I am short raising the seat gives a couple of more inches ( until the bar), so it helps me.
