Unfortunately the council expects permit holders to look out for parking suspensions and comply. Usually they give fair warning but sometimes bays are suspended at short notice for emergency works. It’s a real pain for people that don’t use their cars regularly or go away on holiday, as suspensions aren’t exactly rare. If you try to report your vehicle stolen the police will know it’s been towed by the council. These days the council often move it to a nearby street rather than take it to the pound, but drivers are still usually given a PCN. So you pay a fortune for a permit to park your car near your house with no guarantee of a space, and then get face a fine because the bay is randomly suspended.

I doubt he would risk his job for a one off bung but you’re right, he certainly wouldn’t do it while being filmed.

He reminded me of those guys you come across, usually down the pub, that come out with such unbelievable nonsense, but in their own head they think what they’re saying is actually true.
