bro the finals has the most generous shop ever. Almost every bundle they release gives you your money’s worth in coins along with the cosmetics. The battle pass gives you more then enough to buy the next season’s pass plus minor cosmetics from the shop. Not to mention just how cool and unique some of the skins in this game are.
As someone with almost 800 hours since launch, and top 50 in the current world.tour leaderboard, i can indeed confirm. People are sleeping on the finals
This game is absolutely a sleeping giant. It feels like what I'd expect a next gen fps game to feel like. The destruction engine alone is like magic, I can't even comprehend the math that went into it. And the movement is smooth as hell, so you can vault over collapsing pieces of rubble. Buildings can be collapsing around you, and you can still navigate it. Fucking love this game.
Where do I begin with this game? The movement, the charm, the fun, the abilities, the gun play all so good. I play match after match with friends and then I look up at the clock and it’s 5 in the morning. My family says they can hear me yelling while I play this game because I’m having so much fun and I laugh so hard that I start coughing. I ❤ THE FINALS. 539 hours and counting.
The mirrors edge comparisons make sense, because some of the developers who worked on that game worked on the finals as well - the art style, movement and general arena design do take inspiration
Rob said in a podcast that The Finals carries the rebeliious spirit of Mirror's Edge and of Faith, and that it was built from a similar place, since both had the desire to innovate and do what no one else was doing in a genre that had gone stale. The comparisons are accurate.
Cashout tournament is the main mode and focus of the game, and was the ranked mode from the betas up until the end of season 2. Terminal attack was added as a limited time mode during season 2, and in season 3 the abrupt decision to make it the main ranked mode, and more importantly completely replace/remove cashout ranked, sparked a lot of backlash and arguments. Embark's reasoning here was that they wanted to make some changes to cashout to help prevent common issues like third partying, and in order to do so they removed it from the ranked modes. A lot of the community members are expecting some form of ranked cashout to return in season 4.
There are a few things I think that are worth mentioning: I love how they have "cosmetics" that almost perfectly balance affecting gameplay but not giving an advantage. There are a few charms that give cool information like a TV charm that actively displays the current in game event, or a heart charm that shows you a live depiction of your in-game health, or backpacks with side mini games inside when you inspect it. They truly built their game around a very flexible engine that allows them to get super creative with the things they make.
Additionally I think there is an incredibly consumer friendly tactic they use with their battle pass. The tiers have a growing xp system to level the battle pass, so initial tiers only take 6k xp to tier up, and then over time increases to 9k, 12k and so on. This way it feels very rewarding for people that just want a quicker playthrough to get their coins back. But after the 9th page is where it ramps up the difficulty to progress the bp for the people that have stuck with the game over 20 hours and want something that gives them a purpose to grind. This way both the grinders win and the people that just want to make back the 950 coins to purchase the bp the next season also win.
The Finals is an excellent game. I think the only thing that keeps it from being more popular is that it is 100% an objective game. There are too many solo yolos that just don't get it and play selfishly. This game is light years better than XDefiant, that's for sure.

The thing I love about The Finals is that you don’t have to use “meta” loadouts. You can make your own loadouts that seem inconvenient to others but works perfectly for you. Recently I picked up the grenade launcher for heavy class. It’s deemed “the worst gun” but I learned how to use it properly and get 10+ kills almost every match while have a blast just blowing people up and watching the building collapse 😂
They actually changed the ranked gamemode is because they wanted to change systems around to try and avoid the 3rd party playstyle and try to find a way for that to not be THE best way to play
I don’t really play multiplayer shooter games anymore but when I started playing The Finals only a few days ago I got addicted to it straight away! I personally think it is a fun time to just hop on and play with friends or play alone when I’m bored but I already feel like I’m going to grind The Finals 💀
i love the finals with nearly 200 hours. People are indeed sleeping on this game ill add to this ive recently bought my ps5 and was looking a fps game i tried cod, apex, rainbow six seige even fortnite but none gave the vibe i was looking for but the finals just hit different from the weapons, maps and gameplay also the cosmetics its a masterpiece in the works.
@@LucidLetsPlay yea it still had some ways too go and it might be longer before the game is esport ready but I think it's already competitive enough to fit a competitive game style honestly and I think alot of people dont think its competitive enough yet bc it's not esports ready. I think it will get there but the game is still adding so much in still fixing it and bugs and glitches and as well as adding in so many more different weapons, gadgets, and abilities. And I know alot of people that still play it competitive as well but this is just my opinion and take. Sorry for typing so much🤦♂️😅.
As for someone who spends 947 hours on the finals, the game is great in some aspects and struggle in some areas. It's great that new players are giving the finals a try, but for competitive players they really had nothing this season other than trying to do game mode that they likely have zero experience in. Hopefully season 4 can fix bringing Cash Out into rank Back, and also undo the changes they did to Cash Out in update 3.6.0 and more qualia life changes. Then it could bring back some competitive players while also appealing towards new players as well. "Time will tell."
It's my favorite shooter in years, they reward you for actually playing the game unlike most shooters. The gameplay is fast and unique and I enjoy playing every class. Like you said, the progression is very good and unlocking things takes time but it's fast enough to keep you engaged. You get free cosmetics every account level up to 60. On top of that they have weekly challanges for free cosmetics that go for the entire season in the career tab. On top of that they offer event skins every other couple weeks. They're very generous and you could definitely not spend a dime and have a full inventory of cosmetics that you can mix and match. I've spent a total of 50 bucks and I got all of that back + more in coins because the BP gives around 16 bucks of coins. I basically got a bunch of free cosmetics and purchased extra items I had my eye on. In any other game I would have had to spend hundreds of dollars to get what I got for 50 in The Finals. They do mtxs the correct way so I will always play and support them.
Lets go finals! Praying we get a forge mode, jukebox mode, custom worldwide fileshare like halo 3s, more events in game, etc. Been playing since the beta and its been a blast! LONG LIVE MIRRORS EDGE! THERES STILL MODS FOR IT TOO THIS DAY!
I used to dislike the finals for a while after i started playing because it seemed like it had become a light class fuckfest, but i learned how to counter lights even as a sledge heavy and it has become the most fun thing to go around and turn light players into a fine red paste as their team mates watch their mangled corpse in horror
The Finals has been my go-to since S1 launched. Your perspective as a new player resembles my own from the end of the year almost 1 to 1. Going back to Apex has felt terrible ever since I got a taste of this and it truly breaks my heart to see people sleeping on the game like they are, but I digress. Give Powershift (one of the non-ranked modes) a go at some point. Most fun for solo queueing in my opinion, although nothing beats a good stacked up Cashout.
Generous shop+responsive devs+awesome community+next gen graphics and engine+fascinating visuals+interesting gameplay… why tf is people still on overwatch instead of this game?
Love to see new players coming into the game. I have about 900 hours on this game lol, I cannot play anything else. The community is really great (can be toxic at times but hey, what community isn't). The battlepass and cosmetics are insanely good and probably the cheapest and most value out of any other FPS. Personally, I like Cashout and TA equally so I don't mind the ranked changes but it was necessary for them to improve upon the third partying issue. They took it out of ranked so every 2 weeks, they could add new experimental changes to world tour. After refining it though, I can't wait for it to return as ranked in S4 but I'm hoping TA stays as another ranked mode. The destruction is obviously one of the best parts about this. You could have the best defense set up and suddenly the ground opens beneath you. Crazy chaos and crazy fun, this game is just waiting to blow up. Would be cool to see it become an esport as well.

I think the character creator was designed to let you be as goofy as you want with it. Sometimes I'll put a female face on a heavy male and walk around beating everyone with a hammer like I'm abby in the lasy of us 2
I'm def a fan of the game. Hoping the devs can keep refining it because I really think it could grow over time if Embark can figure out how to make some of the most painful moments just a little less painful. :)
I been playing the finals since its release back in last December, I absolutely love it I play it nearly every day!!! My only gripe right now is the pro circuit quest "stop opponents from stealing your cashout or decrypting a terminal 15 times" I hope they developers change this quest lol, I have 1 out of 15 done and I been trying this all week XD I'll keep trying but I hope it gets changed
@@LucidLetsPlay oh nothing concrete I’ve heard about, I just think that’s the amount of time needed for a dev team to hit peak potential after surprise success they weren’t quiet expecting. Learning and adjusting from 1-4 then pushing with the 5th season is usually a recipe to see how high a newer game can go
This is my main game. I absolutely love it. They just have a few things to work on. And i will say, the last few pages of the battle pass are an actual grind. The last page alone is 90k xp per tier to aquire it.
I loved the video, great commentary, truly. Just out of curiosity, does anyone else get slightly irked at The Finals being referred to as a battle Royale? It’s a trend I’ve noticed when people try to describe it, especially if they’ve never played, or like yourself at the time of this video, have sub-50 hours of playtime. That Isn’t meant as a diss towards people with low playtime. I just find it interesting that this very novel, very innovative game keeps getting thrown under the BR umbrella. Though now thinking about it, I’m not sure what I’d label it as either. Team Based Arena Shooter? Objective Based Movement Shooter? A Heist Shooter? I think Embark needs to come out with an official Genre description for us😂

I tried my best to like this game but its just rage inducing to me. Huge health bars and OP sustain abilities make team fights extremely stale, while it all looks flashy and explosive the only optimal for ranked way of playing it is just stoling on point and making as little agressive moves as possible. Because its an objective based game with 3-4 teams. The main reason it happens is because in other team vs team objective based games its all black and white where being agressive and trading resources is a key to developing offense and achieving victory, but in 3+ teams games trading rrsources and going full in on anything leaves you vunerable to the third squad and you lose. It doesnt bother me in battle royal games as much because they are absolutely not competitive games and dont have an objective that flocks all 20 teams at the time to it, making most of the encounters a simple team vs team, but in the finals they just put a point to capture on a battle royal map and expected it to work as competitvly viable as csgo. I just simply think that the finals is less casual and fun than your average battle royal pubs while being as competitvly viable as a casino. Artstyle wise the game has nothing to offer, almost feels like the entire thing was AI generated. Bleak guns, bleak abilities, bleak classes. Everything is either simple irl arsenal from call of dutish games or those 2 overwatch abilities. The only actually interesting and original ones being dematerializer and goo gun (goo gun being a troll pick so basically only dematerial) Classes are balanced in the least fun way being this god awful choice between high speed fun or being a slow boring high sustain tank (honestly an actual tank is mkre dynamic and fun than whatever heavy is) like even fucking overwatch figured out that its best to keep the speed consistent between classes because balancing anything by being OP but slow makes it boring for both the slow OP machine or anyone having to simply run away from that machine like its dbd. Very little things to play with. The entire arsenal of weapons is quite modests and even less of them are viable. With the most unoriginal stuff being the most meta picks: AR for medium, SMG for light and LMG for heavy with melee being a troll pick, with shotguns being nothing but an unfair chese with cloak or basically useless gargabe while secondary utility is 80% garbage to dump into the cashout to have a free value on click. And I didnt even mention the absolute flop against cheaters and exploiters, every single ranked game there would be a mnk aim assist exploiter at least back when I played
I tried this game out it’s really fun but the light class made me quit because they go invisible and I won’t play in a game where being invisible is a option its basically a crutch for bad players so they can kill good players playing fair
i agree with the gender issues under character customisation lol just want to add that the weapon skins usually have custom animations to go with them, like the gold/wood Model 1887 skin - kinda makes you feel like you have an heirloom for a tenth of the price haha

I can’t play the game even if i wanted to, after all the RU-vid tutorials I still can’t get the game to run under 95-100* Celsius on “low settings” I have a 13900k and 4070ti and get 600fps @45-54* Celsius on overwatch but my pc hates this game for some reason

I disagree with your stance on the cosmetics my favorite cosmetics were not from the battle pass but circuit challenges and daily quests back in previous seasons but I think they do it better now putting really good cosmetics behind multiple difficult challenges in the world tour challenges or circuit challenges
@@LucidLetsPlay yeah when you play again check the bottom left corner while in the main menu and there will be a box saying circuit challenges and it will start on rookie then novice and then pro and so on and the cosmetics you get from those challenges would usually be behind a paywall in most other games. But yeah other than that great video 👍
Maybe I’m more observant than most, but I feel like the gender selection ain’t that hard. Men have wider shoulders, women are slimmer, which is conveyed through the two body types.

@TheGoldenShot it’s still fun for everyone. S3 is just less fun than before and it’s upsetting because it seems like the game is going in wrong direction. But that does not mean the game isn’t fun. Still best fps at the moment
