The Indie World Showcase + Partner Showcase double-feature video was launched by Nintendo on August 27, 2024… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bh7o96_yIWw.html …and I didn't see Crossy Road Castle mentioned anywhere. 🙀
After reading the comments, it seems it's probably about international game day in Australia to me. It doesn't seem like Hipster Whale is nefarious. They just make fun games.
Why didn't they just say International Video Games Day then? 🤔 I suspect that it wasn't intentional, but then how did it happen? Did people forget the day that they weren't supposed to forget? Hipster Whale seems to excel at highlighting obscure dates, like International Dog Day and World Book Day, so how did they miss 9/11? That's why I wonder if it was something not in their control. They didn't announce the date right away - why? Why not just say September 11 in the first trailer? Why did they say, “Wishlist now” but not say how to do that? This is their big moment, so it's disappointing to see these mistakes. They could have just said September 12, as the game is made in Australia, so their date takes precedence. If International Video Games Day is the target, then emphasize that, eliminating any confusion about the choice of dates.
@@PhoticsTV All good points, Photics. I suppose we will never know. It seems to me that since it's not an official holiday or anything, most folks go about their daily lives. I know I get weirded out by it a little bit when I see the date on things, but then I realize people under 30 really have no recollection of the day.
I think that they didn't mean to do. As a person who doesn't live in America when someone says September 11th, I think oh a normal day, but when someone mentions planes that when I remember what happened on that day.
I don't think it's intentional, but I'm not 100% sure. How could they miss that? Another possibility is that they're aiming for International Video Games Day, like when the UFO Chicken was launched last year.
@@Cactuscatkyle It could be an attention getter, but that's a pretty risky move. I suspect it's most likely just an oversight, as this is a pretty big event for Hipster Whale. The words of Mark 8:36 is what popped into my head when thinking about this event. I don't Hipster Whale would risk damaging their reputation. That's why I was thinking about the Nintendo situation. Perhaps the date is related to an upcoming Indie World Showcase, or perhaps Hipster Whale really likes International Video Games Day.
Well, after seeing all the comments on the related RU-vid videos, it seemed that I needed to address the matter. Hipster Whale does have a big sense of humor, but this is surprising. Some of the comments were suggesting it's intentional, but that doesn't fit their modus operandi.
First, have you seen the comments on the recent Hipster Whale videos? 🤔 That's the news in Crossy Road Castle. Lots of people were discussing the unusual date choice. And while the game is international, the United States is a big market. Why unnecessarily confuse customers? It would be nice for Hipster Whale to say something like, “Nah, it was a total accident. We were aiming for International Video Games Day, which is September 12th to us.” …but they don't say September 12… they say September 11. Perhaps they wanted to cheer up the millions of people in the United States. That would also be cool. This channel is also about game development, so it's interesting to theorize how Hipster Whale settled on that date. …and while not everything on Earth is about the United States, why isn't there an area for the United States in Crossy Road? I like Australia. It would be nice to know that people in Australia feel the same way about the United States. 🙂
