At 61 I've run flatbed hotshot the past 3 years. Just bought my first semi and plan on doing an overhaul so it will last me the next 8-10 years. I'll be looking for a 53' step deck - no flip flops for me!!!

This is probably a dumb question. Am I too big to be a Flatbedder? I'm only 29 but I got a serious weight issue. I weigh probably in the range of 450-500 pounds give or take a few pounds. I keep trying to lose weight but it seems like I can gain weight and not even eat a darn thing. Doctors keep checking things but so far haven't found anything that definitively the issue. Is it possible to be a Flatbedder being this big? I can't even find a Harness to fit me. I'm getting into Trucking OTR and want to do Flatbed. Just wondering if I'm kind SOL or if it's possible.
David, I think if you have the want and desire to be a flatbed trucker. Then you could figure out how to make that work for you. Flatbed does come with it's challenges, and we all have to figure those out as we do this job. All I can say is, you won't know until you give it a try.
