@@MikMilman Okay, you asked for it. Could you talk about these topics? Maybe a video about outdoor event photography with minimal kit? Is this MagBox modifier really effective, not sure if you use it. For outdoor scenario therefore a situation that requires a wide shoot without the possibility of white ceeling, shot with full power flash aimed at the group of subjects or better a modifier? What brand do you recommend for an event photographer? Using TTL with the white flash bender, i had two shoot at two different couples. The first one was amazing and the second one completely blew out and i was in the same position, why? Not sure if you already talked about but if one of your expensive equipment broke at an event and you as a photographer have no fault at all, how do you behave with the client? Do you ask him for a refund? Can you also give us some tips on how to speed up the workflow? I own a Sony alpha 6400 and I was thinking to switch to a full frame so that I can pump that ISO and get better is low light conditions and use less flash power. Can be this wise or should I purchase a premium lens? Again not sure if you already spoke about it but for a newbie like me finalizing a job/event with a client, what kind of document/contract should I send, do you sign anything before the event or an email of confirmation is sufficient? Have you ever tried the Tamron 70-180 2.8? Tips on how to manage an event photographer's week? When to say no to a customer to avoid the risk of burnout? 2-3 shoots a week? Maybe you can find some ideas for new videos from this🥂

Well, it's a more diffuse light, not really a softer light as this bounce adapter doesn't increase the size of your light source.

If one speedlight is all I have (and shutter won’t realistically let in enough ambient) then I’m going to bounce, with or without the bounce adapter. But that’s for something like quick ‘n dirty TTL where I don’t have time to experiment. What seems to be “the trick” is to arrive at enough ambient via shutter and just enough from flash more straight on. Reduce it enough not to cause glare or wash out the subject. I’d imagine the goal would be to leave settings as-is, and do your best to photograph subjects at about the same distance each time, only adjusting shutter and flash power if you notice a meaningful differences in distances. Mik how far off am I from best practice here? Thanks.

what if you're unable to bounce due to black walls or does the diffuser help with that
@MikMilman
@MikMilman 9 месяцев назад
It is correct that if you have nothing to bounce your flash off of, a diffusor cap won't really soften the light. But, there's often something to bounce off of even if small, white shirts for example. Using a cap will spread the light in many directions, potentially giving you more options.

@@MikMilman which way would you point flash if this was the case or is it just trial and error?
@MikMilman
@MikMilman 9 месяцев назад
@@bryce2607 I'd say I would use it the way described but swiveled toward wherever there was the largest reflective surface.
