We’re often told that our photos need to be sharp, but are we over-sharpening our photos when editing them. This can often lead to unnatural results, and I’ve fallen into this trap, so today I demonstrate how easy it is to over-sharpen your photos

Good topic. I like some of my old ones better, as well. I have been discussing the topic with others. My opinion is that 4k and 5 k are too sharp for me! 4k I can deal with. It is only a hobby for me. I have had a few critics tell me that mine aren't sharp enough and that 4k is the best! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder! Some people like detail. Take a look at some of mine and critique them. Thank you for sharing!

I quite agree. Though I guess it depends on what sort of emotion you wish to portray with your image.

Yes it does depend on the photographer and that's what is great about this hobby is that it's very much up t the individual 😀

I have Nikon d5600 will 80/ 400 AFS and I like the jpeg . The camera mostly gets it spot on for me. When I go to raw file I end up trying to find the difference after I process it.

Yes, a JPG can be just as good as a raw file in normal daytime conditions. But you'll always get more dynamic range and detail from a raw file.

A good video Charles 👏👏 and you raise an interesting conundrum for photographers. Do I want to produce an image that is representative of what I've seen, or do you take it in an art direction such as high key or low key. Ultimately, as the photographer, you need to ask yourself these questions.

Yes! Ultimately, as the photographer, you need to ask yourself am I going to show the scene what it looked like or make my image more art-like 🤔

Good video but I am not sure about it...I like the sharp images. My flowers are very sharp looking at them in the front yard. I like my birds eyes to be sharp so I am on the fence here...thanks for sharing...Peace
