This geometry video tutorial explains how to find the area of a triangle using multiple formulas. It explains how to find the area of a right triangle using the formula A=1/2bh. All you need is the base and the height of the triangle. This video contains an example of using the pythagorean theorem to find the missing side of a right triangle. In addition, this tutorial provides the formula to find the area of an equilateral triangle given all 3 sides. This lesson also provides the formula to find the area of a scalene triangle given SAS - two sides and an angle using sines / trigonometry. Great video! Thanks for sharing it 😊👍, But I have a question. When we have a traingle where two sides with different measurement and an included angle are given, we should use the formula (A=1/2×ab×sin C). Can we also use the pythagorean theorem to find the measure of the heigt, considering the the traingle has different side measurements? Or does the pythagorean theorem only apply to traingles with at lease two similar sides?

To get height, you need to get the hypotenuse, which is 5, and a or b, which is 4. Then you plug it inside of a^2 + b^2 = c^2 which would be 4^2 + b^2 = c^2 or a^2 + 4^2 = 5^2. You then do the squares which gives us 16 + b^2 = 25 or a^2 + 16 = 25. You subtract 16 from both sides which is b^2 = 9 or a^2 = 9. Then you square root both sides to get b = 3 or a = 3. 3 would now be height and you can now solve for Area

Thanks. If it is possible, make a ready reckoner app for finding out area of triangles by typing three sides of triangles. It will be useful when a lot of triangles have to be calculated. A=3/4 S^2 is a new addition of getting area of a triangle. This means that 25 and root of 2 the area of a triangle of sides 9, 10 and 11 is equals to 3/4 * 15 ^2.

Yes, the name of the function is sine, but when you speak you can say "sin 30" and it will be understood. In the same manner, you can say "cos 30" or "tan 30" or even, moving away from trigonometry, "log 30", and it will cause no trouble.
