The varied fps could be because of the barrel ID. The ultra elites you were using would prefer more of a 7.25 or 7.3mm barrel.

We did test a few different brands of gel but found the same sort of variance in FPS however using a lower pressure gas did give us some more consistent results

Was kinda curious about this blaster for the price of it. I can see the FPS being that way because of eligibility on fields. But the playability of it would be hard to utilise because of it’s weight and effectiveness. Also was pretty surprised that for 1500, it doesn’t come with a scope. The inherent problem with sniper gel blasters is that to have the effective range, you need the high FPS, but if you go the high FPS, accuracy will suffer badly, or the ammo won’t hold up to the pressure. I looked at a co2 lee enfield and was told doing all the seals and stuff, control growing the gels to the second basically, and the gas that you use, can result in 600fps but the accuracy is pretty shocking at those kind of speeds, even with a hop up. So really, summing it up, it’s a nice 1500 dollar show piece that’ll never make it competitively really, would be best to be doing a custom build of an assault rifle or sub-machine gun.
@watinternational4635
@watinternational4635 3 года назад
We actually have quite a few customers that do use this on a field, using a lower pressure gas is actually better for the accuracy in this case. By brining the FPS down, the gel has a much easier time to sail out of the barrel in one direction rather than spread.

FPS is one thing, but for a sniper to be more accurate than a standard blaster. Did you test accuracy over range? And is it compatible with after market hopups?
@watinternational4635

SOFTOPS will be coming out with a video soon where they will be testing that a bit more, the hop up compatibility will also be talked about by them. I know that Trendt Has been talking to HSG about something for the DSR-1

Is it possible to shoot airsoft out of a gel blaster? I don’t think it can, but I just want to confirm or deny.

Hi, they are using same platform, not sure if they can be done, its illegal in Australia.
@easttexasairsoft4319

@@watinternational4635 I understand that airsoft is illegal in Australia and that is why they have gel blaster, so it wouldn’t make any sense for them to be able to shoot airsoft, which is illegal there.

Jesus Christ, $1500 AUD? Hell no. I know its airsoft but you can buy a Novritch SSG24 or SSG10 with all the bells and wistles and still be under while perfroming better. These stupid prices hinder the sport. Surely the swap to gelsoft isnt worth the markup.
@watinternational4635
@watinternational4635 3 года назад
The price of this blaster is due to a number of factors, the airsoft counterpart is around $1100-$1200AUD however these have been modified and redesigned to allow for gel blaster use. that paired with a 3 month production time makes it an expensive endeavour. We understand that this is not for everyone but I'm sure that we have plenty of other products that you can enjoy! Thank you for your feed back
@watinternational4635
@watinternational4635 3 года назад
@Wolfpack3D Unfortunately its not very easy to convince airsoft manufacturers to produce gel blasters, for them its a lot more effort than it is really worth. This means that we just have to take what we can get, but don't worry, there are plenty of things in the pipeline that may be more suited to what you are after
@chorkydorky2187
@chorkydorky2187 3 года назад
@Wolfpack3D if they even went 60m or accurate to the side of a wheely bin at 60m would be worth it, most the time lucky if you can get that 40m
@TheBluesine

Its cool, but sniper rifles shooting gels are a bit of a joke to be honest...unless its getting constant, extremely good accuracy at atleast 25m - then I could be interested and nothing shown here supports that.

Pretty curious ....I'm a brit so I'm very aware of crazy gun laws...whats the deal on real air weapons for you aussies?
@bnuge
@bnuge 3 года назад
This will be a long read so be prepared In the state this is filmed in, Queensland, HPA,CO2 and green gas are completely legal, This is the only state to have recognised legislature declaring gel blasters completely legal and does not classify them as a controlled item 1 state (SA) requires licensing and registration plus serial numbers for blasters to own any blaster, After the licensing you can own any blaster (AEG,CO2,Green Gas, HPA, springer) provided it is registered and serialised 1 state (WA) is a grey area, it isn't outlawed by legislation but the Police declare them illegal In 1 state (TAS) Blasters can't look like firearms and forces them to put gearboxes in nerf shells, making an Air system hard to do. As for the rest of the states and territories (ACT,NSW,VIC,NT) It's illegal to own any blaster (Green Gas,CO2,HPA,AEG and springers) as they classify them as firearms because they use air to propel a projectile making them airguns. So in short, it's not very consistent across the states and territories, I'm sorry for the super long read but I hope it helps to answer your question :)

@@damienelliott4906 Just a little update, mainly because the comment was so recent and this is big news for us aussies So one of the aforementioned states Western Australia (WA) is now banning blasters, mainly citing looks and "the ability to convert to a real firearm", I am not joking, the police minister and the police commissioner for WA both said they could be converted, however semi-automatic parts for rifles in australia are hard to come by, as these parts are heavily regulated and you require a proper excuse to own any semi-automatic rifle This now means one state (Queensland) is the only state or territory to have gel blasters be recognised in the law as a toy and are not not a controlled item

@@bnuge that is one detailed explanation. so sad that australia is going down that way
@bnuge
@bnuge 3 года назад
@@tanayayt9283 its sad for now, key words for now,one organisation is taking the fight to one of the states (NSW) to get them unbanned, hopefully they get it unbanned, but the same guys that banned them for WA are trying to ban the import of blasters, not the use or sale, keeping them 100% legal, but it would force manufacturing locally and drive prices up, making it a sport for the elite and dying a similar death to a ban

You love to see it. a $1500 price tag, you're basically spitting in the face of hard working Aussies while you sit back with stacks and get rich. Why don't you tell the people how much you are paying wholesale for these things? Then, tell the people how much Airsoft snipers are, you are selling inferior versions of Airsoft for triple the price. No, no the Novritsch sniper isn't $1200 but keep saying it is to justify this scam. Absolutely disgusting, the prices of these worthless things that cannot even shoot straight at 50m.
@watinternational4635
@watinternational4635 3 года назад
We understand that this product isn't for everyone and we appreciate your input very much. It can be more costly to produce and import blasters and the airsoft ARES DSR-1 retails for around $1100 AUD give or take with the current conversion rates. The reason why this product wasn't wholesaled was actually do to the profit margin being too small for retailers, by doing this we are able to keep the price as low as we can. I'm sure that we would have plenty of other products that are better suited to a smaller budget or too your needs. Feel free to come and see us instore to check it out!
