Women’s rugby in Samoa is only very recently being taken seriously. Social attitudes are changing but still a large swathe of the country don’t think girls should play rugby. This team is representative of those recent efforts as this team is mostly based in Samoa. In the past, Samoan women’s teams were mostly based from overseas.
