I'm glad you managed to get out of the fix you were in. However, please get a tree saver, a recovery strap, some shackles and a snach block/pully or two and watch some videos on how to recover your vehicle safely. Being alone in that type of area can be deadly. We learn from others to avoid their mistakes.
I carry a 150ft coil of steel winch cable with my Conquest 8x8. I can manually unroll it to a distant tree to use as an anchor point or I can also wrap it around some random clump of bush or grass to winch to. It is surprising how little extra you need to get your self up & out...hopefully without having a welly boot full of cold mud.
I have a old 1970 argo ,watching this makes me hate mine, the newer one look like there made so much better,as for getting stuck, that can happen to anything with tires, but ur machine looks great.
At least in an Argo, when things go wrong in water, your feet stay dry. I made a little grappling hook that I could hook to my winch. I could through it into any kind of thicket and winch myself out. Argo are so cool. Thanks for this fun video.
Hey dude! I have a DR650 and a 6x6 here in Northern Ohio. Any thoughts on a place to go short of Wayne National? I would like to hear any ideas you might have. Thanks!!
What, we learn is what we know ? What I learned ? Bring extra bait and maybe lunch and something to drink. That could of been worse ? But , turned out ok 👌After all, it was a pretty good 👍 video. THANKS
Dont own nor have I driven an Argo 6x6 but wouldnt knobbier tires help? Honestly think my brute force would stand a better chance than this surprisingly.
P.s. May wanna buy 100 ft rope to put inside Argo and when running winch, always leave motor running to save your battery 🔋if it goes down your screwed ..YELP , DID THAT ...SOMETIMES, IT CAN BE A LONG WALK 🚶♂️OUT ?.......and ,always have a backup plan ?
You are too quick to let off & too aggressive. Sometimes you just gotta let the wheels spin a bit for a while. You can also move your weight around a bit while doing it...
