Kinda bullshit that I'm paying tens of thousands of dollars to an Ivy league school to learn but still have to come back to RU-vid for real explanations on how things work since professors dont teach, they just click through a 10 year old power point and give an assignment. RU-vid should have their own virtual college. I'd enroll in RU-vid University if it meant i got some sort of degree out of it because the quality of information on here is miles better than the bs that college is trying to pass off on me. Great video by the way!
This was very helpful to me. I have never had to write an analysis essay in my almost 70 years of life and have been procrastinating for weeks. I am now able to get some words down on paper. Wish me luck.
After staring at the essay I'm supposed to be analyzing, my prompt and my essay literally all day. I finally feel like I know what I am supposed to right about. Thank you!
A useful resource but please don't tell students that tone is simply the way a text sounds. It refers to the writer's attitude. It helps to think about how the writer's voice might sound if they read it aloud but written pieces are not created to be read aloud. Also your list of Reading & annotating points is great and could be arranged via the acronym CAPITAL.
This is incredibly helpful! My only concern about using this as a resource for the students is the examiner's report last year highly deterred students from commenting on techniques and having techniques as the first dot point might be confusing based examiner and teacher direction. Still, awesome video! It is nice to have some resources that are less 'shouty' and direct!
Thank you very much. Is there any possibility that you could write a sample conclusion? I didn't see that. I would be very appreciative and thankful. You can just type it here if you want. I can then copy and paste it to make a last page. I printed this out and will use this to teach my student to try and pass the GED test. Thank you in advance.
