because it's not real life lmao, after all the age difference added spice and drama to the whole romance thing, this is a show for entertainment and ezria was entertaining and they were cute, aria acted more like the older one than ezra tbh🤣 edit - i swear i grew from this mindset, the relationship was nasty af and professors dating their students IS creepy and unsettling.
When you become a teacher you agree to protect your students. No matter how the situation played out, it really was Ezra's place as the adult to walk away. Especially now that I am also 25 I can't imagine EVER being okay with this situation in real life. I think the parents were surprisingly calm given the circumstances. It's not just the age difference, it's the fact that you are supposed to protect your students and guide them. Clearly sleeping with them violates this, and yes, Aria's father did the same thing, but as he later explained it was never with a MINOR. I love Aria and Ezra as a couple but I completely understand why in real life her parents would be appalled.
I understand where you are coming from but he set a bad example for Aria by cheating on his wife AND it was was a STUDENT of his own so he basically showed his daughter it was okay to date a teacher.
He new who he was when he met her so technically he like should have started the whole thing but like it’s a tv show so it doesn’t matter that much lol
@@fuzzyisabellapanda3209 I think college teachers and highschool teachers are very different. They just teach you things, youre an adult learn it or not, they shouldn't care about you... A highschool teacher is supposed to teach you things and look after you (like a babysitter), so their relationship is sick. If aria were my sister or daughter, I would sue him.
I can’t believe I was okay when this when I was younger. Their relationship was so creepy and predatory and the fact that Aria wasn’t even of consenting age when they first got together just makes it even worse.

I thank you for sharing your story with me but from my point of view I think that he groomed you just like Ezra did with Aria. I don’t know your full story or your relationship so I don’t mean any disrespect but I do believe that him even feeling attraction towards a 16 year old little girl when he’s 25 years old is wrong. I as well agree that age is just a number but also to a certain extent, I think it’s acceptable when it’s two grown adults but not when one is an adult and the other is a kid. At the age you are now do you think you would want to pursue someone that is 16 years old or 9 years younger than you? Again I mean no disrespect and I do hope that you’re happy and safe.

Disliked Jackie immensely but she raised a valid point when stated to Ezra ' what did you think was going to happen?' Still to this day I wonder why Ezra thought that something else was going to happen then what did. I think Aria's parent's were quite calm considering. Byron could have easily hit him instead of Mike.
The awkwardness i want to punch myself but i'm so glad they told them even though it wasn't the best reaction, it was a huge secret that was bound to come out! Also so glad Ezra put Jackie in her place absolutely hated her!

it’s the fact that aside from the fact that ezra was a teacher, he knew who aria was when they met. HE KNEW, jst didn’t know she would be a student in his class. he was a predator to begin with.
i remember seeing this as a preteen and thinking that aria’s brother was such a jerk for punching ezra. now as an adult, i wish he punched him more. this relationship was absolutely WRONG on all levels

Yeah well I don’t think any parent would be super pleased knowing that a teacher had manipulated their daughter into a relationship, especially not since it was super illegal and he knew what he was doing was wrong. They reacted way calmer then any other person I know would’ve, if it were my parents they would’ve immediately gotten him arrested
I started watching and reading Pretty Little Liars at 14. I remember feeling kind of creeped out that Aria was dating her teacher and it’s so prolonged in the show because it’s perceived as wrong (IT IS WRONG) and quickly broken off in the book. Aria is 16 in the show and at the time we were close in age so I thought about how creepy it would’ve been if I was dating my teacher or a young adult and definitely put me in the mindset that even though I liked them as a couple in general, that I shouldn’t route for them. I can’t believe how the show prolongs this and tries to make us feel bad in this scene for Ezra, especially in season 5 or 6 it’s revealed when they met he knew who she was and still approached and dated her anyways.
I would have played this WAYYY differently if I was Ezra. I would have come up with a story with Aria to tell her parents, something along the lines of: Hey, Aria and I ran into each other when I started teaching at Hollis, and we've started going on dates with each other. I wanted to ask you if it was alright to ask Aria to be my girlfriend? I understand that with Aria being a minor this is tricky, but I hope there's some way we can move forward. I feel that one of the biggest sticking points for Aria's parents was they started dating when he was still her teacher. Remove that, and I think the worst that would have happened was them saying "No, but it's Aria's decision once she turns 18."
@@analia4550 Wrong. Later in the series it was revealed that Ezra was in a relationship with Allison and was so fascinated by her life and disappearance he was writing a book about her. So he did research on her and knew about Aria when they met. That’s the only reason her pursued her in the beginning. Ezra is a predator.

I, to this day, have strongly mixed feelings. On the one hand, the age difference wasn't that big, Aria was 16-17 and Ezra was probably around 25, so it's really not that big, but the very fact that he was her teacher and she was still in high school still scares me to this day. After all, they could have met years later and bonded when the age difference would no longer be so apparent, but still they dragged it out for so long....
I'm really interested to see if Byron and Ella will be at their wedding and/or if Byron will give Aria away. And if we don't get an Ezria wedding the entire fandom will be in uproar, whether they ship Ezria or not. I think it would be equal to the "calmly" situation in the HP fandom. (If anyone needs "calmly" explained to them I will do so but I'm on my phone currently so really cba.)
@@hopfilms1983 I was beautifully happy when it happened. Overlooking the fact that Ezra got kidnapped and temporarily left in a bunker with Spencer for a day or so, but it was lovely. I loved their consideration of eloping as well.
