The only thing she gets in return is a cold, emotionless sneer from the man she once thought she knew. As she mourns her loss, she runs to the bridge overlooking the sea. CONTENT WARNING: SUICIDE. As she contemplates either killing herself or choosing to move on, she stays there for a long time, torn between killing herself or killing her former life. She takes off her locket, stares at the picture of them together, smiling, *happy* , and cries even harder. She hates that bastard. Hates him and hates him and hates him. She throws the locket into the river. And immediately regrets it, falling to her knees and sobbing like her soul is being ripped into thousands of tiny shards, sharp and painful. She cries until she can't cry anymore, heaving but with absolutely nothing more to give. *She still loves that bastard* . As she sees her fiancee, *no, her ex-fiancee's* hero emblem shine through the night sky from atop their house ("motherfucker didn't even take his stupid hero light shit with him", she thinks as she swipes at the tears escaping her eyes), she knows what she must do. And that is our villain's backstory! ^3^

This makes me think of a scenario where Harley Quinn breaks free from the Joker and sings this while staring at her reflection in the mirror crying. Especially the phrase: "Is it love, when you stole my peace of mind"
