this song is about her fear about being able to love again after the trauma she’s been thru after her ex boyfriend mac miller’s death. and he’s playing the part of daton (her now husband) and telling her that he’s gonna love her even if he feels like he’s number 2 to someone she can’t hold anymore(mac).

You can't compare their voices! Ariana did phenomenal and so did The Weeknd. Their voices complement each other so well.

really don’t see ariana overpowering abel in any of their performances together ever, she simply brings contrast to his smooth vocals, it’s all about balance. abel gets in his mid belts harmonizing with ari’s higher ones and sounds gorgeous. but it’s wonderful to see how most of the time he’ll just stop and stare at her and hype her up. feels like he has genuine appreciation for her talent and almost lets her take over whether it’s on this song or save your tears and i love that!

What I noticed is that everytime The Weeknd sings with Ariana Grande he just holds back. I think it's because she has a strong and very loud voice. I think it wouldn't sound good if both would sing too loud and high. He sings way higher in his own live performances.

Ariana Grande can hit high notes well and she’s still exploring her lower tones like she did on the remix for Save Your Tears. Abel has spent most of his time in the lower tones but he can hit the high notes as well. That’s why their voices compliment each other so well. This live performance blew me away and, in my opinion, it’s better than the recorded version.

You know what I find interesting!! Ari kinda comes off shy when she’s singing with the weekend!! Idk like she doesn’t look him in the eyes!! You can tell majority of her career has been her singing by herself and that she really doesn’t want to cause any headlines and just wants to sing with her friend, but it’s so interesting to see
