A lot of italian americans have an identity crisis on whether they are considered white or not. Italian immigrants that came through ellis island and were required to seperate being italian and being Sicilian because Sicilians were considered black and other italains were white. For example, not wanting to wear their hair in its natural texture, whether to tan or to stay out of the sun, immerse themselves in the "guido" or mafia stereotype as a way to reclaim it. You cant make fun of me if i look this way intentionally (jersey shore) and you dont want to discriminate against someone you think may be dangerous. Sorry that was long but hopefully it helps you make a decision whether you care or not about it. Middle eastern people went through the same thing about being absorbed into whiteness

@@lindarice6642 it s. not about that. i said this cuz her face seems to change with trends. for ex when kpop wasnt as popular she looked like an american artist or kinda black. the point is she started to look asian and made her skin look pale THE MOMENT kpop started going viral. feeding into trends is completely fine though. dont we all ?

@itz6353 which also coincided with her being talked about for her spray tan and black fishing. Ive seen influencers do one eye siren and one eye round in the same picture and it looks like a completely different face. I'm not like a super fan of hers or anything but as a second generation American Italian i have an insight that I've never seen anyone online mention. Which ties in to the fact that people don't know the history and the older italians in my family won't talk about it at all. I'm 42 and I had to change high schools because the kids wouldn't stop calling me racial slurs. I'm sure she's intensely aware of what people say and keeps trying to correct in the other extreme. I spent a long time trying to look the way people thought I should and that's why I just recently learned how to style my hair without a straightener.
