DJ has a place in Combat-Sports journalism. He's well educated and has fun conversations. And all hard-core mma fans respect DJ accomplishments and resume.
I just want to say i liked DJ when he was in the ufc but seeing him long form is so awesome i really love his perspective and knowledge its so great to see keep it up dj youre the best
@@lockethomas7165 he’s not actually banned from attending events, he was briefly banned and then it was rescinded. He just chooses not to go just in case he gets beat up by the crowd
I dont think Boxing compares to UFC at all. What we saw with Fury Vs. Usyk is what we get consistently with the UFC. Boxing is full of corruption, its full of Boxers unwilling to fight each other. We went 25yrs without an undisputed heavyweight belt. That shows right there how dumb the sport is, and that the best of the best rarely get together to fight. Which is what the UFC is built on, actually putting the best in the world in a cage together with almost no rules. Boxing is such a limited part of fighting.
I think it's a case of "water tasting sweet when you're too thirsty" and people getting lost in recency bias. I remember a tweet went semi viral that says "mma can't generate moments like these" refering to usyk rocking fury, even though UFC 300 only happened roughly a month earlier and it claps every combat sports event in the past 5 years. Also the irony of what could've been a great finish being taken away cause of the expected boxing shenanigans as the ref threw himself in the way of usyk aswell as giving fury a very suspect 10 count (appearantly he was only held up by the ropes so they counted it as a knockdown) and not to mention the split decision.
numbers dont lie. more people love boxing.I love both but most boxers would sleep most ufc fighters unless they have amazing ground game like mighty mouse or khabib
@@Walterwhitebeoch Dillusional take. MMA fans watch a lof of different combat sports. Boxing fans only watch boxing and majority of the techniques in strictly boxing wouldnt work if kicks, knees or elbows were involved let alone ground game. Tony Bellew talked about the difference in boxing and MMA because he trained a little bjj and trained with some MMA fighters to see what it was about and he admitted boxers stand no chance thats why they never go across and compete.
@@Walterwhitebeoch Since you're a fan of numbers, the UFC makes more revenue than all the boxing promotions combined. The Goliath right now isn't who you think it is. Also, the fact you think an mma fighter needs a khabib level grappling to stand a chance against a boxer even though boxers don't even know how to break out of a Thai clinch or even defend any form of kicks is hilarious and makes me question how honest you were about being a fan of both sports.
So many sheep in the ufc fan base. They "hate" Ariel Helwani because they heard someone else hate on him. They even regurgitate the same responses the last guy said. Ariel has given his life for the sport you claim to love. I always watch his content. Great to see two people I respect in one room.
@@astheskylarksings From this video or from his own? His opinion that fighters should get fined for saying offensive things is one I can think of recently that was annoying.
@@Trevor_Marines You sure he said that. He’s a big advocate of free speech except when it gets to family and religion. The only thing I know he advocates for is open scoring, fighter pay, fighter promotion, and better media coverage. In general, he’s definitely annoying, like as a person, I’ll give you that. Not the manliest of men that’s for sure 😅
Perhaps it's because he's so naturally talented that he overestimates what other athletes are capable of, but DJ has some of the dumbest most braindead takes I've ever heard.
Listened to the whole interview. As a guest Ariel was fine. He didn't overstep the line nor hyjack the interview. Him and DJ have great chemistry. At this point, haters will just hate.
I know people get upset and say Helwani like 'hijacked' the interview but you can't really like interview a journalist it's not like he's a fighter. I feel like this is more of like boys chatting about all the new shit coming up in sports and such
@@shadow_realm47 and you assume I’m trying to do that because? And if you are taking a random person’s comment on RU-vid as a personal attack then I don’t what to tell you lil bro bro. 🤷♂️
Yesrrr..hey can we get a Black Ops 6 teaser trailer reaction.. for the gaming family...I know you love call of duty bro....personally I'm extremely excited for zombies..✊🏼🙏🔥
hey mighty, huge fan of you, and as a fan of ONE, i was wondering if you watched ONE Fight Night 22, I would love to see you vs Reece McLaren Fight for the flyweight championship soon this year, maybe ONE 170 in Atlanta?
good vidieo 🙏🏿 Ariel tell Mighty Mouse since He deserves that Holl Of Famer win or lose how about to close a Year Pantoja 🇧🇷 vs 🇺🇲 Johnson after that in January announceme Him as a HOF 🐐
Super happy for DJ I didnt even realise he had over half a mill subs he's definitely thriving! Keep doing you man I always said you are super authentic you got a personality that can light up a room.
I beg to differ with Ariel Sean showed up more for the DDP fight Israel didn't show up for that fight but Sean really impressed me that DDP fight and I believe you he won that fight I watched it multiple times
Crazy how many fans have turned on Ariel. Been watching him for over 10 years and he’s changed, his ego is out of control and manipulativeness, says he cares about fighters rights, yet involved with a 58 year old fighting.
If you watch "More Plates More Dates" on the Garcia situation it is clear that it had no impact on the fight. Ostarine aint that drug that gives you a win in combat sports. Garcia won that fight.
If it was a small amount and tainted then yea but how likely it's tainted. I've tried ostarine, only sarm I've tried. Makes you stronger, more aggressive and recover better. Maybe compared to straight testosterone or tren it's minor but it definately helps. Wouldn't be the most popular sarm otherwise.
Boxing currently more entertaining than MMA? Absolutely not 😂 those 3 fights definitely do good for the boxing but meanwhile in MMA we could get that type of excitement from just one MMA main card.
Dj, Gathje got rocked when he fought Tony too! Uppercut dropped him in round one. I think the only recent fight he didn't get rocked was the Fiziv fight.
1:24:20 DJ the baddest video game / comic book nerd of all time. He accidentally said he fought Eddie Brock. 😂😂 bro was out in Alaska fighting Venom on his Peter Parker side quest. I had to look it up, dudes name is actually Jesse Brock. Would have been dope if he was fighting venom for real
I think Khabib had high level and equal level of jujitsu as Islam but he probably didn’t feel comfortable taking that route but we started to see more of his grappling towards his last two fights with Dustin and Justin. Also maybe he had a different level of respect for those guys.
I haven't seen the fight in awhile but I remember thinking DJ won the 2nd Cejudo fight too. Wonder what it would be like having DJ in the UFC today if that trade never happened.
33:00 I don't get why gates are so impressive to fans. They're not putting more seats in the arena. They're just charging a shit load more for tickets. Same thing for WWE. Bragging about gates like it's good for us lol
