Dillons gameplan was to literally watch Logan punch him

That was sports entertainment at its lowest form.

The main and co-main did not deliver. Logan won, but I thought he would do more damage on Danis. KSI is doing something, but don't call it boxing. The undercard with Slim/Pappi and Deen/Walid were the fights that made it bearable. Congrats to the undercard!

These fights were absolutely embarrassing.

The commentary team was really glazing KSI and Logan

It was clear after the first couple rounds that Dillon had no intention of trying to win, just wanted to make it to the decision. Dude was shelled up as a human punching bag for 6 rounds. It would be a disgrace for any promotion to book him in another boxing match after that performance.

Logan going strong with 100% takedown defense in boxing

The only saving Grace for my eye balls was that guy Slim with that clean knock down in the “people’s main event”.

I'd say KSI initiated almost every clinch. He did the MVP jumping jack, leaned right back and down to the side as Fury came in and then grabbed a hold. Or he leapt in with a right hand and grabbed a hold. True though, Tommy should have been able to lure him in and back away and catch him.

KSI definitely to blame for the clinching. While I don't blame Tommy, I do agree with Helwani that Tommy should have been able to adjust to KSI's style. His "unpredictable" style was actually super predictable.... Tommy needed to bait him and then step back.

Tommy won that fight , KSI clinched and prayed for point deductions

I was saying the exact same thing, that I felt the 'cringiest' moment of the night was Logan's cornerman/security guard entering the ring like he was the President's Secret Service, for nothing. I don't understand how people are talking more about the double-leg attempt than the idiot security guard. Whoever that was, should've been let go after this event. Never enter an active ring, let the ref be a ref. The whole thing was rough to stomach.

You said the security coming in the ring is illegal. You know what else is illegal? Going for takedowns and guillotines in a boxing match

KSI just went for the clinch every time Tommy threw a combo. It was a pretty cowardly performance. Outside of the overhand right, he doesn't seem to have anything else.

Watching those fights gave me flashbacks to my frustrations watching Woodley. Barely throwing anything. All sorts of mean talk prior and scared to throw hands.

Dillon only attempted the guillotine because he wanted to be disqualified. He didn’t want to face that crowd or Logan when they announced Logan as the winner so he removed himself from that situation.

Dillon is the only guy I’ve seen to walk someone down but also refuse to throw punches …. And KSI woulda knocked Dillon out, KSI awkardness would been too much for Dillon

How on Earth can anyone make an argument for giving Danis another chance on a boxing card? There was absolutely no professional preparation.

KSI also told u he was gonna go tru Tommy and knock him out, im no boxer but i dont think anyone in the history of the world ever got knocked out with a hug

Can we talk about the one sided ref and commentators? Tommy lost a point for 4 or 5 back of the head shots. Immediately after, KSI clinched and threw 5 consecutive back of the head shots - not even a warning by the ref. Not to mention no point deduction for excessive holding? I mean come on.. the ref warned KSI and then he clinched again seconds later and for the rest of the fight, ref didn't deduct a point or tell him to stop again.

The salt papi vs slim fight was a good representative of both boxing and influencer boxing. Decent skills, competitive, kind of a twist with how it ended

Ariel, the fact you picked Dillon to win (who never boxed, didnt train boxing and had no coach) makes me question what you understand and fighting, seriously! Even Dillon didnt pick himself to win.

i thought the tag team was amazing as well. thought it was gonna be a huge gimmick but i loved it.

Was tommy not being able to figure him out more of a testament to Tommy being a worse boxer than he gets credit for, or that JJs game plan and style threw him off in a big way?

Theres a reason why KSI wanted 6 rounds and not 8. I think if it was 8 rounds, Tommy would of got the finish in 7 or 8.

Ariel has sunken to new lows making excuses for Dillon Wenis. This can't even be called a fight. It was robbery for all who watched this garbage. Ariel is losing credibility for being associated with this clown show.

It's not just Dillon, it was the whole event. Everyone involved should be embarrassed and should hide away for a bit, including Ariel for being one of the worst commentators I've ever seen. The whole event was one step away from a scam and everyone involved is one step away from a scammer.

Logan Paul on steroids could not KO or even hurt a guy who has never boxed professionally before in his life, that is the ultimate L.

He’s obviously in great shape. He’s probably just actually serious making the mma run again. He’s clearly been training most likely mma/bjj more so

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT that Dillon didnt embarass himself. He ABSOLUTELY 1000% EMBARASSES HIMSELF and NO ONE will or should ever bring him back! He threw a mic almost cancelling the fight then he didnt fight at all and then he caused a Melee in the ring which couldve ended with law suits. He is the largest liability with 0 upside so you are wrong about that Ariel

After watching this fight, I went back and watched mvp fight and it is very similar. Of course he has much better variety for entry, and he’s way more slick evading, using the whole ring, but he uses the clinch a lot as well. And realistically so do most boxers when they’re overextended/out of position

Ariel, I have been as hardcore of a boxing fan as there is for 25 years...I know the game inside and out. I just wanted to say that you were a breath of fresh air on the desk. In my opinion, other than Max Kellerman, Al Bernstein and Andre Ward... most commentators have massive problems understanding what is happening in the flow of a fight. You definitely have some catching up to do in understanding boxing but you clearly have a great talent for it. I would love to see you become a commentator, and that fact that you were willing to call out a terrible fight was so refreshing to any hardcore fans. Please keep with it. I would love to see you bring Max Kellerman on your show and see if you can have a conversation about what it takes be a better commentator. If he was your mentor, you could be the next generations great commentator. Keep with it sir!

This breakdown was way more level headed than I though by Ariel. Literally thought he was going to be stroking Logan and KSI like he did in Manchester. But this was good.

Dude. That event for the final two fights was so hard to watch. It literally put me in a bad mood. I hate KSI for the way he fought, and the way he handled himself after the fight. He’s a spoiled rich kid who was never told no. Zero respect for him.

Deen the great is 100% the best out of the entire card....he looked sharp and actually looked like a boxer, his opponent was decent too...that should have been the main event

I was pissed at Dillon but wasn’t surprised we figured he wasn’t training and taking it serious with the all day trolling on twitter but he should care about his fans and not just a payday because to a lot of people that’s pricey to watch Tommy as well for the amount of crap talking he was doing guaranteeing a “spark out” ko he barely punched and performed terribly there is no way he can even come close to being a world champ the way he fights and he knows it that’s why he’s staying in this realm of boxing but actually I feel he’s a perfect fit for this new genre of boxing.

Boxing consists of using jabs, combos etc.. very hard for a boxer to box professionally if someone’s bouncing about and flying across the ring swinging. A lot of boxers hold when there’s no position to have room to jab etc. as for the fight before misfits needs to close before something bad happens

I thought you did an excellent job, and I'm definitely not your biggest fan Ariel. It was nice to have an educated eye on the fight saying mainly the correct thing. Also side note your interviews with people after the fights and pre fights were brilliant.

Everything Ariel said before and during the fights were completely true. Everyone was talking "but this but that" but Ariel kept it 100% real. I guess people don't like the honest truth. The main event was unwatchable and Dilon literally showed us he never wanted to fight. simple as that.

If clinch is done, then elbows should be allowed. They should add that rule to boxing

Totally agree about Tommy. The professional boxer and all he did was clinch and throw dirty punches. All week he diminished the non-boxer, as expected, only to barely win. Even made it difficult for the judges to give it him lmao

I was watching the KSI fight on live and had a counter on and they legit never went more than 10 seconds without a clinch for the entire fight.

Why did the last round of logan dillon last 13 seconds longer thannit should have, because it was a fix.

The thing people don't understand is Tommy didn't jab because HE LITERALLY COULDN'T, it was part of KSI and his team's gameplan, sad to see people don't give him enough credit for that

Ksi felt the punch and didnt want to give Tommy the distance hence he clinched the whole time which frustrates Tommy...We have to remember when ur an experience fighter and ur fighting someone thats all over the place and pulling different styles will be a recipe for a bad fight...As for logan and dillon, i agree with the post but as mentioned Logan is the boxer the most experience between each other and seeing the guy not active he couldn't hurt him to a point.

About Danis, I personally wouldn't agree with him being brought back to boxing, I feel he used the opportunity to troll yet again and it's an insult to his opponent and to the fans who paid to watch people box. That whole card was disappointing in that there were only a couple of fights that stood out, the rest were just wasting time trying to win a match by playing dirty or wasting time doing everything other than boxing.

main fight was gash , dillons fight was better than that , i am gutted he didnt engage more, he really could of quite easily made himself look good , i really think that. and Ariel your commentating and talk is always good :)

this whole card was an embarrassment to combat sports i love how ariel will breakdown a ufc card now he doesnt work for espn anymore but will not shittalk this card given his pockets are lined with that prime money.

I think the 6 round stipulation, was a main ingredient of the KSI game plan. It was to go for the hard hitting punches, and hope one actually connects flush and wobbles/KOs Tommy. But, when he misses, then to always go for the clinch in order to keep Tommy from actually being able to box. Once in the clinch, if/when Tommy does something wrong (like back of the head shots, etc) then to complain to get points deduction. This way, KSI only needs to guarantee 3 rounds to win on points. That's why after round 3, and his trainer told him he had won the first 3 rounds, he made sure and clinched a hell of a lot more, thinking he already had it in the bag. I think this was the same kind of game plan he used on Jake Paul fight, too. This should of been an 8 round fight, and should of included some actual boxing skills. Without those it was a pure money grab, and a hope from KSI to beat a professional boxer by not having it such.

Hope Dillon goes back to mma next, maybe a PFL tournament or put him in ufc and feed him cans until he gains more experience, he might end up being like Ryan hall but he might end up being a champ u never know, I wanna find out that’s for sure
