Arielle Jacobs- "Breathe" Live on KOST 103.5 

i think she has a great range of emotions from fear, to disappointment, to nostalgia, and anger. mandy has so much amazing power in her voice, but she just seems to stick to anger the whole time. i relate much more to arielle's version. whats scarier than disappointing those who have invested in your future and support you the most?

while mandy is so incredibly and untouchably talented, i just feel like arielle fits the role of nina so much better. her youthful, conflicted aura makes this song and her performance stunning.

Not only is she extremely talented she isn't Latina and still did really really well pronouncing the Spanish words in the songs :) Also, Lin watching her proudly is my big mood during this whole video!

I don't like the way she pronounces certain things, but her voice is clear and her acting is wonderful. Her expressions made me tear up.

There's a performing company for teens in my city, and In The Heights is the musical that we plan on doing. I was looking up stuff for the musical and I know now that I want to be Nina. She is just wonderful and Arielle is an amazing Nina. I want to do her justice.

The way she sings "How do I think tell them why I'm coming back home" is so different than Mandy's version- it's much more breathless in a good way it seems much more emotional in my opinion

At first when I heard Arielle I thought she wasn't good b'cuz I was so used to hearing Mandy belt the shit out of this song! But now that I'm hearing more of Arielle I'm starting to like her more and more. I absolutely love Mandy but, I think Arielle brings something sweet and young to the character that is a lot more like what I think Nina would be. Arielle's voice is so sweet and beautiful and it makes Nina seem more young which I really like. Arielle does a great job in this song, So Pretty!

Arielle Jacobs is great and all.. but my eyes are really drawn to Lin Manuel at the back. How he looks at Arielle with so much pride and joy!! He's heard this song a thousand times before and yet her performance still touches him. Look at that grin at 3:04.

I believe that she makes a great Nina! I mean, its heard for anyone to sound like Mandy, because she's so amazing, but whats fun about everyone being the same? Arielle brings a freshness to the role, a more youthful, adolescent, and almost frightened feeling to this song. Sure it might seem a little throaty or nasally at times, but overall, It was damn good. Damn Good. Jordin is great because she can belt like Mandy, but again, whats the fun in a replica?? :)

I think she has a beautiful voice, and that's what matters most. :) there's a reason they call this "acting"-- it's not a requirement that you need to be a waitress to play a waitress, etc. she passes physically as latino, and I don't think it's a question of "is filipina latino enough" but more "does arielle do nina the character justice"? And I think she does. does it really matter?

She sings in the back of her throat, like she's afraid to put some passion into it. Her innoncence is there though. Not bad, but the cast called Mandy Gonzalez, "The Beast" for a reason.

She's even better than Mandy Gonzalez. Mandy's great, but Arielle's prettier and closer to the right age. I really hope she gets the part in the film.
