I’m a trans guy, and it does feel awful to get rejected for something you can’t control. That being said, it’s not transphobic to not date a person on the premise of being trans. If you’re not attracted, you’re not attracted. A straight person isn’t homophobic for not dating the same sex. I know a lot of trans people (myself included) who have had awful experiences with cisgendered individuals of one gender or another due to abuse and have made it a policy to not date them for safety purposes. If you’re not comfortable with a person, there is no obligation to date them. But also, don’t be a dick about it? Like, if a transgender person is confessing feelings to you or hitting on you, let them down politely and don’t make a point out of their genitalia? I do agree with him that assuming what genitalia you have is a dick move though. ;; No pun intended.

So much respect for you🙌 everyone should think like you. I mean your right what if a gay man called you homophobic for being attracted to girls..anyway I get a lot of people are pan or bi but some of us are boring and straight. And I'll acknowledge you are the gender you feel like and present as but if I like dick and you don't have one then I'm sorry...I can acknowledge you look like a man and even your good looking but am I turned on..? No and that shouldn't be he end of the world lots of people will find you attractive. I'm not transphobic because of that

I think not wanting to date or have sex with a trans person is not transphobic. I think it would be transphobic if you knew or were dating someone that was trans and you found that out and were completely repulsed by the sight of them, did not want to ever see them again, tell them they are not valid or something like that would be transphobic.

Now they have to argue themselves saying that who their attracted to isn't their choice? Jesus Christ is went from defending your right to be attracted to someone to defending your right to not be attracted to someone. YOU AREN'T ENTITLED TO OTHER'S ATTRACTION.

Maridith Stading How is not wanting to date someone who is trans not transphobic but when your already dating them then it is when you want to break up? That's dumb. That person has every right to break up with them if they want to. Just tell the person you are trans! If you feel they wouldn't date you if they find out then don't date them. Find someone who wouldn't mind dating a trans person or better yet date a trans person too. Don't just start dating someone before telling them something like that because it's not ok. They might not like the thought of dating trans people to begin with so dating them then telling them might not change their mind. And think about this. What if a trans person date a straight person and keeps it secret then he finds out, gets upset, feels lied to and wants to break up. But no! He can't dump her because they already started dating and it's too late to back out now! Never mind the fact she should have told him in the first place. It's not fair.

Being trans and not out with my family this is so hurtful. I have horrible dysphoria that causes me to have moments of horrible depression and anxiety. To have two CIS women tell me I am not a man because I don't have a penis is horrific. I cannot and will never understand how she thinks and why she would ever think it is okay to say those things.

SJ Nielsen sorry, I know that my words can't really help you, but I get it. I felt exactly the same watching two cis woman tell me in a patronising tone that I was either a tomboy or a man in a dress during the two genders video. The best way to deal with it is remember that these people are cis, they don't know shit about what it's like to be trans. And you know how you can sort of look into yourself and see what gender you are (after all, that's how you know you're trans in the first place)? I find it can be really comforting to be able to look at yourself and know that what you see is a man (or in my case, a genderless person). You know what you are, so remind yourself that while you might not have what Arielle considers a male body, she's just some TERFy stranger online, and you know you better than she does.

So don't worry about what Arielle says, what counts is that Disney and Mulan know you're a guy no matter what your genitals look like

If the way you react to an argument is by completely disregarding what they *actually* said, or by somehow switching your mind off and hearing what you wanted to hear, you should seriously reassess pretty much *every* position you hold, since if this is how irrational your thought process is it's basically a shot in the dark.

Another trans guy here. It's not transphobic to not want to date me for being trans. I get it, I don't have the right parts and it would make you uncomfortable, as it would me. I wouldn't date another trans guy if he had female parts, I just wouldn't be physically attracted to him because I'm gay, meaning I'm a man attracted to other men, and men commonly have male sex characteristics. In a relationship, sex is usually an important factor for people. I don't think people should make an assumption about all trans people having characteristics of their birth sex though, because not all trans men and women are alike. Still, stop guilting people into not wanting to be with you. Trans biology is complicated, we're not common. There are plenty of people who will like you for you, and not what's between yours legs. Are the people who priortise what's between yours legs wrong? No, it's just what they like and they have every right to not want to date a trans person or not. It's their choice. Are they transphobic if they liked me and then realised I was trans? NO! Because our biology is complicated and I completely understand if they don't want to be with me. I have fenale parts and that stops them from wanting to be with me. Why is that so hard to understand? One thing I'll say though, Race and being Trans are completely different, so I don't know why they made that comparison.

Poorly done video. You're arguing from nothing but emotion. Some people are not and will never be attracted to certain genitals. It doesn't matter how much you like someone, if they dont have the genitals you expect you have every right to leave them without being called a transphobe. Also, your dysphoria is yours alone. We have every right to be honest and not sugar coat things. If you cant bear children we can say that and be honest without being called a transphobe.

The black-haired girl: "If I ever met a trans guy and was attracted to him, then... Well, I don't know, I've never been attracted to a trans guy, but if I liked him I think I'd wanna try out things with him because currently I really can't say if I'd be against it or not, if I liked everything or not, so I'd wanna try to see." Chase: "This makes me wanna cry." Dude, why? She's literally saying she could consider trying being in a relationship with a transgender man provided that she liked him. This is so trans inclusive and beautiful and I'd be so fucking happy if everybody was like that, and still you're making that angry face and saying "this makes me wanna cry". Wtf is wrong with you dude.

I'm FTM and attracted to girls, I don't want to date a lesbian because, well, I'm not a lesbian and don't want to be viewed as one (though me being pre-everything doesn't help). I pretty much aim for bi and pan girls if anything. I don't see anyone as being transphobic if they didn't want to date me because of my parts. I personally wouldn't date a trans woman for the same reasons a straight cis man wouldn't. I would still see the trans woman as a female, but I'm not attracted to her parts, just like a straight cis woman wouldn't be attracted to mine.

Yes but there's a difference between not being attracted to trans women and not being a trace to women with penises because a lot of trans women don't have penises! So by saying you don't like a trans woman's parts you're assuming all trans women have penises which is a stupid generalization. So it is understandable to say you're not into penises but not to say you're not attracted to trans people, assuming what they have downstairs.

"No one is telling you to sleep with anyone," but in a way you are saying just that; you're pushing the narrative that "cis people not wanting to date trans people is transphobic," which is you essentially shaming them for not wanting to date/sleep with a certain kind of individual. There is a difference between a cis person stating "I am not interested in dating trans people" as a proclamation of their preference and someone saying the aforementioned statement in a bigoted context; they are two completely different implications and can be logically interpreted in two completely different ways. Simultaneously, there are trans men and women that don't want to date other trans men or women; are they transphobic? What you are basically saying by continuing this argument is that we should essentially be pansexuals, because surely you cannot have a preference without being, in some fashion or form, a bigot. No one calls a gay man sexist for not being attracted to women, and no one calls a black person racist for wanting to date within their ethnic group. Why do you insist on doing the contrary to individuals that don't want to date trans men or women? Side note: if this was actual commentary you'd be making coherent points, but you finish like, 20% of your sentences so it's really hard to get a grasp of what you're trying to convey.

There's a difference between being offended and facing rethoric that feeds into extremely high rates of suicides or hate-crimes and having it aimed directly at the person... Like, I'd laugh at a christian being offended that I said I'm an atheist because, I'm not aiming at him and he's being a dramaqueen-king, my atheism isn't out to get him-her. But going out of your way to tell an entire community that based on what You think is in ALL of their pants, not their character, nothing of the sort.. just the assumption of how the trans-sexuality works (visible identity and opposite sex genitalia) you don't want to have a relationship, that's not "I'm offended" level, that's basic bigotry... Why ? Because at no point do you stop and think "hey maybe, this community doesn't care that I, as myself, don't want to date them... Let's just wait and see if I ever meet a trans-person, if I find myself wondering if I'm attracted, if not move on like any other case of not being attracted to a person..Simple.".. The fact that at the point where you need to ask yourself the question, you give a broad answer is already weird in a way because it denies the chaos of life and replaces it mechanically with "all thousands of them : nope".. When life just keeps on showing that whatever you expect, you probably wont have as planned.

Straight people, especially years into a relationship, can potentially divorce or break up about wanting children/inability to have them. That can be a serious deal breaker for some people. Yes, it's depressing, but for some people, a relationship that can have children in the traditional way is a must. Unless they want to compromise, both parties should decide what they want. Vasilije Rajović that’s not true at all. That’s a way over simplification. Do you know why statutory exists? It exists for “consensual” rape. So when an older person has sex with a younger person it’s rape because the adult are assumed to understand their actions and a child is not. This also applies to boss and employee. Which, some people think is rape. The boss like an adult holds power over the employee. So even if it’s consensual it’s still coerced sex. Then there is the case of a drunk and sober person. Is that rape? The drunk person said yes. You see, sometimes people say yes and it’s not a yes.

Honey I'm a gay black man whose not attracted to other black men. Am I racist because I don't find certain distinctive racial features attractive? No. I have my opinions and preferences and I normally go for gingers and blondes. Now then does it suck when someone's not attracted to you. yes. Is it insulting if it's because of your race. No. If you don't want to have sex with me why should I force you into finding me attractive. It's ridiculous. It's like a straight girl walking up to you in a gay bar and getting insulted a gay won't sleep with her. Do you want to know what I say to those straight cis women. "Sorry you have the wrong parts honey but you can buy me a cocktail." Is this wrong? No cause I am not attracted to boobs or that puss puss. Kinda my whole gay thing. Sexual orientation is a spectrum and stop shaming people for not being on the part of the spectrum that'll sleep with you
@jeffwilliams9146
@jeffwilliams9146 7 лет назад
That comment was more about race than trans issues but I'm a racial moinority not a sexual? Minority. Is that it? Gender minority? Idk I'm sure you know what I mean but is it transphobic of me to date a man and then refuse to sleep with him cause he's pre op trans? I don't have sex with vagina. From what I know there is no surgery to replicate an organic penis (correct me if I'm wrong). And I'm not into dildos or pack and plays. I find them a plastic knock off of the real thing (which they litteraly are) and they are not sexually arousing to me. Ik this may be limiting sex to penis involved sex but I'm a bottom who likes sucking and receiving and so then the whole point of sex (pleasure and intimacy) is bisected because I'm not receiving pleasure from my partner (if they are trans). Intimacy is great and all but it's not enough for a full relationship so yes. I will break up with a guy if he's trans cause have the relationship is gone. Does this make sense. It's not about being transphobic. I'm not. I beleive everyone human deserves the right to be happy in their own individual and unique way. That includes people having the freedom to be attracted to whom they want with out fear of being shamed or called a bad person for not conforming to your specific type of happiness. Everyone is diffrnt. Embrasses it. Different opinions and ideaologies is what makes the world a rich and diverse place. Stop trying to make people conform to what you want them to or else we'll always live in an echo chamber and in a world of thin skinned weak willed people

I truely am sorry if my mention of trans men not having penis's makes you feel disforick. I really am. I don't want to come across as attacking you. I'm only stating my opinion on your video just as much as you are for Ariel. It's no excuse but I don't have the termjnology or vocabulary for what trans men call their genitalia and I'm not going to say "I don't have sex with trans genitalia" cause that's limiting my opinion to not sleeping with trans men when I also don't sleep with cis women (except in a few drunk three ways). I'm sorry if this all sounds super objectifying but I'm a sexual blunt human being. My relationships are heavily sexual and intimate and it makes me just as uncomfortable sleeping with that particular biological genitalia. I don't get her! Like same with Chase realizing he was into women, I realized I was a lesbian bc I saw women and I was like "wow I'm into them and I didn't feel this attraction to men!" And by her definition she'd be into trans guys...which lesbians aren't. Lesbians are attracted to women and women only. So if you see a woman and you're into her and you find out she's trans and you're like "lol nope" you might want to examine that! You don't even know how trans women want to have sex? Like they may not be into using whatever parts they have either and you could talk about it? You don't need to sleep with them either? You can love someone without sex.

Also her saying "My sexuality is I'm a lesbian, I will only date women" like...TRANS WOMEN...ARE WOMEN. It's so odd that she keeps saying she only dates women as an explanation for not dating trans women and then says like "of course they're women but..."

Listen and believe, no I will not! No I'm sorry sexual orientation is not about the genitals only. It is about what you are physically attracted to. If you are homosexual that means you are attracted to the same gender or sex , If you want to put it that way, is how it is defined. But it is not only about someone's genitals. People first look at someone and find them attractive. They are not looking at their genitals. They are first and foremost attracted to the physical body of a person and then they realize that they are attracted to them because A, B, and C. Genitals do fall into the mix at some point but it is not the first thing a human being thinks about when attracted to another human being. And if that is the only thing you think about when you look at a person then you're mental.

I would never refer to a trans person by the gender they were born with. If they prefer to be called she/her or he/him, I will refer to her/him as such. Anyone who does otherwise is being extremely rude and disrespectful. But as a straight man, I would be very uncomfortable being sexually intimate with someone who had the same male genitalia as me. So if I were in a relationship with a woman and after awhile found out she had male parts, I would politely break off the relationship. But that doesn't mean I'm transphobic, I just prefer women with female anatomy. I would still be friends with her if she was willing.

Four and a half minutes in and I agree with them. I'm a bi transguy so I have stakes in this too. Dating preferences are instinctive and as much a choice as being trans or gay is. You can't make yourself be attracted to something you aren't, attraction both sexual and romantic are volatile and complex. However, being friends with and accepting the existence and rights of all people is black and white. There is no reason to judge a person physically if you only intend to be friends or less. So far though I completely understand. Everyone has preferences of things they are attracted to and genetalia are part of sexuality in many cases. A person can be a beautiful girl or a drop dead guy but if the parts don't match many find it hard to be sexually attracted to them. That is an innate reaction they have zero control over, as little control as being trans - like I said. So calling people out on that and having drastic negative reactions is doing to them what many do to us and assuming they have a choice. Which they don't. I completely understand why it is difficult to accept. Finding a relationship as a trans person is hella difficult. But we shouldn't try to fix the problem this way, I don't think we're setting a good example when we say "it isn't a choice so accept us," and then turn around and ignore the fact that dating preferences are often not a choice either. That being said I do think if a person is mostly attracted to someone that they should try to see past these things. Many people find that what they thought was a rigid dating preference wasn't as necessary as they thought so it's certainly worth making sure. But that's it. However, knowing Jaclyn this probably gets way worse way quickly so I'll keep watching now. I just really needed to get this off my chest because I want us to live in harmony and harmony means understanding and accepting both sides if a dispute. Thank you for understanding where I'm coming from... hopefully. (I just hate that I've been single for years and now that I'm out as trans I am doomed to a life of forever alone ;~;. I don't blame anyone though it's just the harsh reality of being a minority group...)

Almost 14 minutes in, had to make another comment. Chase you've made some really good points but using these dysphoria inducing terms provides clarity. These two are cis with largely cis audiences and most cis people still don't understand terminology and the importance of correct terminology. I agree that what she said was wrong, mostly because a trans girl isn't gonna want her part to be the center of attention like you said; most of the time anyway since some girls are fine with it. But this person is trying to have a high amount of clarity. I haven't had any problems with what she's said so far. She says she isn't attracted to classically male parts and therefore will not date someone who has them. If she did indeed say she wouldn't date a trans girl who was pre-op it's possible that it's because she would be depressed and conflicted during that pre-op time and without intimate knowledge of a person (which no one has at the beginning of the dating cycle unless they were friends for years) there's little reason to subject herself to that. I think that's fine, it again sucks but it doesn't make her transphobic. People will always protect themselves first, at least when it comes to strangers or near strangers. What she was saying about race is that racial attraction is based on appearance so if you are attracted to someone you obviously don't have dating preferences against that person so finding out their race shouldn't change things. For me I think people also get off the hook because of culture, but that's a little cowardly depending on the cultural things they aren't attracted to. Anyway, trans people are different because the revealing a person is trans reveals that things you haven't seen might not be what you expected. Racial differences aren't so hidden so finding out a race and finding out a gender are very different things. Very different. Extremely good point about assuming genitals but so many cis are called out for asking what genitals a trans has, what other option to they have? They either have to ask or assume and people are going to choose what they percieve as the safest option. What she said about sexual vs romantic is correct, sexual attraction is most of the time physical while romantic is mental. Like I said in the above comment, a person who is initially attracted to someone should try to look past these things or ask if they are even a concern but relationships are complicated. I feel like you're demonising what they're saying with little to no basis in it simply because they've been transphobic in the past... What they have said so far is NOT transphobic, ignorant of trans nuances maybe but not trans phobic. You said yourself that she's allowed to not like male parts so I don't understand the drastic reactions. However, some of the things you're saying make sense and needed to be said, I think a video dedicated to teaching these things to the cis community would be good, perhaps better than this reaction video but it's online now so that's fine. Anyway, continuing now, man this is gonna be a long one.

17 and half minutes in. First thing they said I have disagreed point blank with. EXCELLENT POINTS about children. I'm actually kind of pissed off about that. Video is still running and Jaclyn said if she built a connection with a trans guy who was pre op or not op she would give it a try because she now loves that person. I think that's very good of her. I understand you being upset but she obviously doesn't know about genital changes on T or E so... I think you should try to understand what she's trying to say, she's not trying to be offensive.

30 and a half minutes in. I... am conflicted lol. I agree for the most part with what they're saying, sexuality is about physical attraction and its definition is based on who you would be intimate with. I agree. Romantic attraction covers the other side of relationship and attraction. I literally cannot see what was wrong with them saying that. But I also agree with a lot of what you're saying. One thing though, ouch. "I don't know why they'd call themselves gay if they were [attracted to boobs]." Ok so first thing, there are guys who are attracted to big men, biiiig men, men who have moobs because of fat. These guys often enjoy the pre top surgery form of a trans guy if that trans guy is fat or large because they see them as big moobs. Second point is that I often call myself gay, I am attracted to both women and men but because I prefer men and I have had bad experiences dating women I describe my sexuality as gay because I am most open to a relationship with a guy and it makes things simpler. That being said if I was interested in a girl I would probably revert back to called myself bi. Third point, you JUST distinguished sexuality and romanticism yet you say that being attracted to boobs invalidates you as a gay man? How? What if they're gay romantically and bi sexually, they'd likely call themselves gay for clarity. What if they're attraction to boobs is fetish based even though they're gay? It's sad and offensive to see her generalise like that. I've made a lot of conscessions for her up to this point - mostly saying that her use of terminology and lack of understanding the complexities of transness is because she is cis and likely just doesn't know this is wrong and because she's trying to be as clear to her audience as possible and using correct terminology can make debates like this confusing. But she is gay, she is close to the issue of attraction and she even knows about romanticism vs sexuality so it is extremely sad she has generalised this point so much. I'm also getting sick of her referring to penises, it's making me a bit emotional as well. I was able to ignore it before but it feels like this whole debate is stupid and it's just making me sad.

33 minutes in and BAM yes, oh man they made that classic mistake of assuming transition is simple and that every trans person is the same. Fuck no. Another point is related to the video they are reacting to, disability... um, no? I mean I agree we shouldn't discriminate, I am disabled by frequent body pain, headaches and anxiety so I understand a little about disability but here's the thing; I would never blame someone for not dating me because of my anxiety. I would be pissed off and depressed because I need them but I would understand. Brain damage, autism and a bunch of others puts a huge strain on communication which is hard enough as it is. And what if part of what you are attracted to and love in people is they're active side or how you feel when they are standing over you? When you lose that it hits like a train. If a person you loved became disabled and you left them there are countless reasons why that could happen that all essentially boil down to leaving them because of their disability. But it's way more complex than that and the pain, emotional conflict, personality changes, loss experienced during this time takes an incredible amount of strength and self control most people don't have to get through it. It's hard. I am personally not that attracted to people who are disabled physically, I am terrified of falling in love and that person becoming disabled. I would try of course and if I met a disabled person who I found I was attracted to I would definitely try. But this is a huge issue and to call people out as monsters for giving into their primal instincts to avoid people who are disabled or who give in to the stresses and loss associated with their loved one becoming disabled is, in my opinion, invalidating the struggle they go through. I'm sorry if this offends you, disabled or not, I realise it can be extremely difficult to be disabled but sometimes people just can't look past what the disability means for a relationship. I love guys who are active, into art and music, erasing those things makes it very difficult. I realise that there are artists who are blind, deaf musicians and disabled athetes but it isn't the same. It feels different. And maybe my preference against them or aversion to dating them is rooted in my own fear of mortality. I am facing constant threat of disability and it is the last thing I need from a lover to be constantly reminded of it. I am already anxious enough in every day life. So yeah, I disagree with that disability statement mostly. Of course I would try if my loved one became disabled or if I was attracted to someone who was disabled and my aversion is mostly for physical disabilities. If someone was a sociopath or had dissassociative personality disorder or schizophrenia I would be more open to a relationship with them because my aversion towards those kinds of disabilities are less. Some people may have the opposite viee and be fine with dating someone who was disabled as long as it isn't mental. I think it's way too complex to assume anyone who wouldn't date a disabled person is being.... uh... disabledist? Disability is extremely diverse and complicated and out instinctive reactions to disability are involuntary. Anyway, I think I've articulated my point as best I can. I hope readers of this comment understand and don't assume I hate disabled people. I consider all people equal (provided they are good people) but relationships and attraction is very personal and complicated. Anyway, continuing watching now.

Ok, essentially I agree with the ending. I HATE when people say they wouldn't date a trans person without provocation. I mean... no one asked. And everything else you said at the end I agree with. I've had a lot to say about this video but this part, yes. However, having zero attraction to trans people IS like body type preference, the problem is that they are making assumptions about that trans person. Having zero attraction to people whose parts resemble the sex you aren't attracted to, their scent, their voice, their mannerisms, etc. That's what these people mean when they say they wouldn't date someone who is trans and they are ignoring the distinction between those people and literally the huge amount of trans that don't fit that category. Another reason could be the emotional strain being trans has on the trans person and their loved ones, the person may not want to deal with that, that is again assuming that this trans person is mentally unstable and wracked with depression. Not always the case, you can't know until you get to know them. Plus this isn't trans exclusive. The only other thing is that a person doesn't want to have the LGBT community or activism shoved in their face and they don't want to be ridiculed for every slightly non-PC thing they say. But again there are heaps of trans that aren't activists and are pretty flexible. And again this isn't trans exclusive. So it all boils down to stereotype and assumption, that's the issue. I am perfectly fine with these people not wanting to date people like what's listed above, I am NOT perfectly fine with a person rejecting someone based on assumption before even finding out if that fear is valid. Regardless, this was fun. I hope everyone has a great day.

I think both sides of the argument are quite extreme. I agree with Arielle, but I also agree with Chase. As a lesbian, I would not have sex with a woman with a penis. Going to the extent that some people are, calling me transphobic for not being attracted to a penis, even though it is attached to a woman is WAY too extreme. If I fell in love with someone, and they were pre-op or pre hormone, I would try. But let's say I met a girl at a bar and she was pre-op or pre hormone, I would not have sex with her. I think if you were dating someone, and then they came out as trans and you dumped them, just because they were trans, is transphobic. Or at the other end, if you were dating someone of a different race, and found out later and dumped them because of their race, is racist. But if you prefer one race to the another, or if you prefer one gender to another, you are not racist or transphobic. Not really related to these three videos, but if you talk about trans issues or trans people and you are cis, I don't think it's that horrible. But speaking for trans people as a cis person, can be horrible, especially if you are talking about the difficulties of transitioning and what it's like. This post is probably too long for most people, but I just wanted to get my point across.

As chase said I think that they were confusing the argument. With Riley's original videos I struggled to agree because just not wanting to have sex with a specific type of person doesn't make you any kind of phobic. It would be an issue if you found out they were trans after the fact and then had a problem with it, or had the kind of mindset like "I really like you but I can't because abc" It's one thing to find out your partner is actually a trans person that hasn't had bottom surgery, try to be intimate and realise you physically can't. It's something else entirely to be dating someone or like someone who you would never even be able to tell and then find out and have an issue with it. That's why blanket statements in that sense are not okay, it portrays that everyone who falls into that category is exactly the same, like how she basically said all asian people look the same it's just not true

Ya'll we need to open a discussion around this because I don't fully agree with Chase and Fiona. I want to talk about these "preferences" but in the end, we all should just leave each other alone and let us choose who to love and be with.

look i know there's plenty of trans people who are open to talk about this, but trans people are also never obligated to explain this to you. or to cater to your transphobic beliefs. you mentioned you're cis in a previous comment and it's honestly much more productive for you to find information online (that already exists) from trans people to educate yourself.. as opposed to expecting trans people to put time aside in their day to discuss with you things that a) they're already way more well-versed in and b) they've had to debate constantly. because you're not the first one to think these "preferences" aren't transphobic and you won't be the last. and trans people are honestly tired of having to explain to cis people why our existence isn't a preference.

you have all this free information available to you on the internet, videos and podcasts and countless pages of writing explaining this topic.. yet the first trans person who says they don't want to take time out of their day to personally guide you through this is the bad guy..ok. and cool, you refusing to feel like a victim when dudes reject you doesn't mean trans people have to put up with entitled cis people like you trying to tell US what transphobia is or isn't. if you actually want to have a constructive conversation with a trans person, belittling them and telling them what kind of transphobia they're allowed to feel hurt by isn't the way. maybe you'll find the answers about trans topics that you're looking for by.. actually listening to trans people?

snickerdoodles and almond milk I've literally watched and paid attention to every Riley Dennis video, some of Zinnea Jones and Kat Blaque, and you probably don't even consider Blaire White valid. I'm not going to pretend I don't hear trans people, i literally take my time of day to watch them, one of my closest friends back in high school was a pan trans woman who would explain her sexuality to people who dont understand. Fiona is bi/pans and is coming from a place where gender and or genitalia doesn't matter, but you, her, Riley, or Chase cant seem to accept the fact that it matters to A LOT of us, you guys can't even seem to accept the fact that cis bodies and trans bodies are DIFFERENT, as if those differences aren't a big deal to people. Not everyone is pansexual. But I digress, you are free to cry transphobia, you guys are on the extreme side of the trans community anyways. While your community cries and plays victim, you can also have fun being lonely.
@snickerdoodlesandalmondmil1002
wow you watched a few videos, cool! and are STILL telling trans people how to view the bigotry that targets them (and doesn't target you). ooh you had One trans friend, guess you're automatically incapable of ever being transphobic now, LOL! and hey genitalia doesn't equal gender and if you say it does, you admitting that you think trans people aren't actually the gender they identify as. which is (surprise surprise..) transphobic! and, despite what literally two cis girls on youtube said, trans people who believe what chase and i are saying aren't on the "extreme" side of the community. and we're definitely not a minority within the community. plenty of trans people agree with chase and i and all the other trans people on the internet who call you a transphobe lol. wow really love how you talk about the trans community.. really shows how much of a supportive ally you are LOL

I have to say- Yes. People who find out that their partner cannot have their children sometimes end up moving on. It may not happen suddenly, but dreams are dreams, 10 years of love isn't always enough to save a relationship filled with broken dreams.
@rougesunset
@rougesunset 7 лет назад
Laurabyrinth And yes, that's sad, and it will make your partner feel bad, but you can come to decisions in your relationship in a mature manner without bringing your partners' transness into it. Being trans and fertile are not mutually exclusive, that's the point.
@laurabyrinth

Alexandra I understand that, but my point is that sometimes things can drive people apart no matter how much love is there. I love my partner more than anything, but he wants children and I do not- this causes a lot of tension and upset when brought up, and we may not stay together because of it. Sometimes people cannot grasp certain things. There are people who cannot handle certain things. Not everyone will think alike and handle things the same way. I still have trouble understanding the differences in people, but I've been told that some people just can't handle things like I can. It's... hard to believe and trust in, but we can't really see what happens in someone else's head.

Ok, hold on, Not wanting to date someone after finding out they’re actually Trans is NOT Transphobic. With that logic, a straight male or female not wanting to date someone of that has the same parts makes them homophobic. Even if that straight person doesn’t mind gay people or their relationships in the slightest. Tf kinda logic? I’m a lesbian and I am just not attracted to the idea of dating someone who’s not born Female. It’s just not my cup of tea. I have nothing against trans people, and it makes me happy to see them transitioning into someone they truly are on the inside and be able to show that on the outside. It makes me happy. But my personal preferences as to wether or not I wanna date a trans person has nothing to do with me being able to respect them and live the way they want to live.
@DEdPoolio
@DEdPoolio 6 лет назад
Sweters Yeah I agree with Koija here. I can still respect you and treat you the way you feel that you are, wether that be a woman, or male and call you the right pronouns, so I know for sure I’m not transphobic. I don’t hate on Trans people. But I just don’t want to date a trans woman. That’s just how I feel. But on the flip side of the coin I guess I can try to see where you’re coming from, sweeter. Not to say I know exactly what it feels like to be trans at all, but i guess you mean you want others to not single you out like that and determine you as someone undatable for them just because you weren’t born the gender you identify as, even though that person you become involved with, at least on a romantic level, may be attracted to the gender that you identify yourself to be. Therefore, making you feel like you are an Invalid male or female or whichever you are. That makes sense in my head in some kind of way. However, still the matter of the fact is, if someone is dating another person who didn’t know the other was trans and everything was going swimmingly up until the point the trans person sat down and talk to them about it, that person still has the right to walk away from the relationship. For whatever reason really. I mean, if that person didn’t feel ok about it at all, then they really probably should walk away anyways so that trans person can be happy with someone who’ll love them the way they are. Just a disclaimer though, I don’t think that’s a go ahead for Cis people (I think I spelled that right) to be jerks about it to the trans person after figuring that out while in a relationship with someone. That’s just awful.
@orangesanguines

It's not the same thing. Because if you're straight, that doesn't mean you're only attracted to cis people. If you're a straight man, you're attracted to women. Trans women are women. So if you reject them it's not on the grounds of your sexual orientation, but on the grounds of their being trans. I'm not saying anyone has to date anyone they don't want to date. I'm just saying that people should stop pretending it has to do with their sexual orientation.

Could be I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, could be it's raining today, if I do not wanna fuck you, I won't! And there is nothing "phobic" about it. It's called free will and to deny me the freedom to say no to sex for WHATEVER reason I see fit is rapey as hell!!
@orangesanguines
@orangesanguines 6 лет назад
Ipernova No one is denying you the freedom. No one is saying you have to have sex with anyone. We're just saying that stating that you won't date trans people is transphobic. Not dating a particular trans person for whatever reason is not transphobic. Stating you won't date trans people is transphobic. Do you see the difference here? Deciding, on an individual basis, that you won't date someone, is okay. If the only reason for that is because they're trans, that's transphobic. But you're free to be transphobic, just like we're free to call you out on your transphobia. Not dating someone who happens to be trans is not transphobic. Announcing to the world that you won't date trans people is transphobic.

Please stop diluting what qualifies as transphobic. If it doesn't violate your basic humans, its not discrimination. Dating/getting laid is not a basic human right, you are not entitled to that, it's a matter of consent between BOTH parties. NO EXCEPTIONS As trans people, we are THE GREY AREA, we ARE a separate category. We are different so we get different rules, expectations. Its not a bad thing, it just is the reality. As a trans person myself I understand that dysphoria is a bitch but the fact is WE HAVE THESE GENITALIA and sex happens using these things. Thats literally their purpose, sex. SO, someone can still respect your identity, be your friend, have no issue with trans identities at all, they simply do not want to be with a trans person. It's not different then not wanting to date brunettes or tall people. This is so self centered, its not about you. They dont have to want you, for ANY REASON. I will never understand this mindset, this puts such a bad image on trans people. Your points are so self centered and constantly like "muh dysphoria" but honey, if youre trans you get to have that forever. Welcome. Sorry, but I can't with this video, this shit makes me so ashamed.

Rip In peace but how does she know what kind of genitals anyone has just by looking at them? So either she rudely asks every woman she meets or she makes assumptions. People usually don't go around volunteering information about their genitals on their first dates.
@BwaHaHaToldYa
@BwaHaHaToldYa 7 лет назад
If she was seeking some sort of sexual relationship with a trans person it would come up in conversation. She said ''Before you know what's in someones pants, you're attracted to physical appearance. The way they look, smell, sound, feel.'' And ''Trans women are women, but alot of trans women have penises and thats not something that most lesbians enjoy. And having to suck a penis, which I have never experienced - and never want to - is very different'' MEANING - In a sexual partner she can be attracted to trans women who are post-op thus having a vagina, as she exclusively likes vagina.
@jojojet90
@jojojet90 7 лет назад
Rip In peace who said that she would have to suck on anything? She is making assumptions about trans women and how they have sex. Chase mentions this in his video many trans people are repulsed by the very mention of their genitals much less the idea of someone touching them in a sexualized way. As someone has already stated in the pinned comments. It's not really about genitals for Arielle it's about dictating what she thinks is the acceptable amount of transitioning to make her comfortable. Trans people don't live to make cis people comfortable.

??? If a trans woman is pre- op, then the genralization is that she doesn't have a vagina and is not completely sexually attractive for a lesbian. There's nothing wrong with an obvious fact.
@rachel8216
@rachel8216 6 лет назад
Right, but that's not exactly what they are saying. They are making a statement that they would never date a trans person, just because they are trans. They are deciding that it would be too much work to get to know the person and figure out IF it would work. I think the issue is that they are completely rejecting an entire group of humans and deciding that they are "too much work to figure out" and that's not fucking cool. I hope I'm making sense.
@lrdenn73
@lrdenn73 6 лет назад
Rachel would you say that to a gay man, that he shouldn't rule out females cause ya never know...that's ridiculous. Gay men don't like women, that's ok!!!! No one should have to force themselves to want someone else, life is too short. Why on earth would a trans person want a partner to have to give it the old college try to be with them, that would suck. Move on and find someone who's into what you have to offer.
@rachel8216
@rachel8216 6 лет назад
You're totally right, I would never say that. I definitely didn't explain myself enough in my comment. To clarify, I mean that the problem is reducing humans to their genitalia. 1) You don't know if the trans person in question even has the genitalia you prefer 2) It's kind of rude to say publicly that you would never even consider a relationship with a trans person because they may not have the preferred genitalia. Relationships are about more than sex. To rule out an entire population of people based only on the fact that they are trans is (by definition) transphobic. **disclaimer: I haven't watched this video for about a month or two so I might not be remembering the context exactly right
@lrdenn73
@lrdenn73 6 лет назад
Rachel I get what you are saying but I still wouldn't want to have sex with a transwoman with a penis even though I really like penis . It's not just about genitalia. And yes you can omit certain people based on their genitalia if you want too. It's your right. No one should be made to feel like they have to include individuals they aren't attracted to regardless of the reason. I can't believe this is so hard to understand. I'm attracted to cis men only. I'm 45, I have been around alot of LGBT people, some of whom I call my closest friends and no matter how much I opened my mind to different experiences it just never happened for me. I like cis gendered men, I can't help it and I don't feel bad about it. It is what it is. I can safely say I'm not attracted to transmen, sometimes wish I was because it would have really opened up the dating world for me a bit more but I'm not and it's not something I can change. When you enter a relationship with someone it's already a challenge to make things work, relationships are very rewarding but are hard work. Why would I add the element of not being attracted to someone in to that, It would be just another thing to try and figure out. I want to be attracted to my partner because intimacy is important to me. I'm not asexual. I love the fact I can be intimate with my partner and FULLY enjoy myself. I can't do that if I have to force myself to come in contact with a vagina durring sex. Let's say that trans individual doesn't even want me to come in contact with their genitals because of dismorphia, well, that doesn't really work for me either because I'm really into the give and receive aspect of sex with my partner. I wouldn't enjoy only getting to receive. So with all of this in mind and the fact that I can make a choice why would I even choose a relationship with a transman? Why would a transman even want to deal with that obstacle when there are plenty of people who would be attracted to them? I'm not transphobic, I'm a supporter of trans rights. Phobic indicates a fear of something and I'm not afraid of trans individuals at all! I admire and look up to them for forging their path and living an authentic life. I just like cis men....why is that wrong? To say people like me are completely rejecting a group of humans is a little exaggerated don't ya think. I'm not rejecting them, I just don't want to date them just like a gay man doesn't want to date me. I'm not calling gay men hetrophobic because of that.

I tought Arielle and Jaclyn make a lot of valid points. And they didnt even bring up the term "cotton ceiling", the creepiest shit ever. I'm bi and def would date a transperson, but I totally get why it's generally not a good option for many(!) gays and lesbians. People are different and you'll definitely find gays and lesbians who would date any transperson, without thinking much about states of transitioning at all (because every transperson is different here too), but that's more because of what is individually important to them. A lesbian has literally told me shes's attracted to "feminine engergies" rather than bodily characteristics. That's all fine and valid. But most lesbians, a tiny minority in the overall population anyway, want vagina and no male sex characteristics of any kind, because that's the type of lesbian they are. It's just the reality of being a lesbian and being trans for them, and shows how these things sometimes(!) dont mix well, and these lesbians should not be "meta-discriminated" as transphobic for that. Some transwomen are lesbians themselves obviously, a perfect example how these things can mix perfectly well too. However, you cant expect all(!) other lesbians to hypothetically want to date you, or wrongly assume that if just transphobia wouldnt exist, this barrier would fall. It won't. Transphobia exists, and it's challenging, but honestly I feel like you guys are making it bigger by projecting it into everything. Labelling and shaming anything you think might add to transphobia maybe in some way as "definitely horribly transphobic what garbage people" is not helping anyone.

Yeah it's okay for cis people to call other hetero or homo sexual people (people attracted to one gender and one set of genitalia) that they are transphobic but it's not okay for said homo/hetero people to react back and defend themselves. This is not a trans issue. When you(trans) people start attacking other people and wrongly accuse them of being transphobic then yes it becomes a hetero/homo issue (cis or trans or intersex) and they then have a right to defend themselves against YOUR accusations.

Happy thoughts I’m saying there’s a lot more to sex than walking vaginas and penises. This cis view of sex is intoxicating and hurts people. You can have whatever preferences you have but don’t call it sexuality to fit the anti-trans narrative. Of course you have sex with whoever you want but don’t be a butt about it. You can have a preference for blondes and not create a freaking RU-vid channel to trashtalk brunettes. Be nice and stop making countless videos to explicitly make non cis people feel bad for not identifying with the binary.
@FrizzKid05
@FrizzKid05 6 лет назад
Do you know what sex is? Sex is inclusive of those and how you feel about one or the other ISN'T a choice. Sex is a big part of relationships for most people so demonizing people for their sexual preference is not only counter-intuitive but hazardous to humanity. Complaining about somebody saying they, "Wouldn't date a trans individual' because it rattles your cage is asinine. The only time complaining about somebody's statement of preference should be done is if they voluntarily offer it. However, if it's a part of a discussion and they state their preference, just fuckin' accept it. Anything else is just bitching because somebody doesn't want you.

I legit had to go through something like this recently. My friend has a crush on me and I told them I was trans (FTM) and then he said he'd still date me because I have a Vagina. And I was like dude, do you realize how hurtful that Is? How much that makes me hate myself even more?

Aw man that sucks. I've went through something similar. A guy that knew I was trans (FTM) told me that he would've date me if I "stayed a female". He then proceeded to ask me if I could be happy without getting "the surgeries" and living my life as a "female". It was so hurtful hearing him say that stuff and later on, I ended up breaking ties with him because of his transphobic tendencies (we've had multiple arguments in the past where he was transphobic)
@reagan3464
@reagan3464 7 лет назад
Artanya Engel That's awful. If I were you, I wouldn't let him be a part of my life anymore. You need to be surrounded by people who will completely support you as you go through your transition and your "friend" isn't going to help you go through everything if he keeps thinking like thatl

I know you feel very strongly about this, but I wish you would make a more informative video and respond to each of her points calmly. When she said something and you paused it I was like "Ok I wanna know what he thinks about this" but most of the video you didn't collect yourself and respond or you said you wouldn't dive deeper. I wanted to hear you explain it! I just got like bits and pieces. Maybe later make a calm video to help other people by explaining in more detail?
@snickerdoodlesandalmondmil1002
yeah, it would almost be better for him to watch the video beforehand , collect his thoughts, and THEN make a video. i love chase just it was tough to follow sometimes and i KNOW he could have churned out better, more well thought out responses.

Okay, I'm not going to try to be a douchebag smartass by asking you questions to lead up to a point and just ask straight out: You are NOT saying though that somebody who is not physically attracted to people of different ethnicities is necessarily racist? Right?
@aForkfulOfGold
@aForkfulOfGold 6 лет назад
Going by that logic: Gays are not physically attracted to women. Every gay is a misogynist. Lesbians are not physically attracted to men. Every lesbian is a misandrist. Asexual persons are not physically attracted to anyone. Every asexual person is a misanthrope. Do you agree with these statements?
@aForkfulOfGold
@aForkfulOfGold 6 лет назад
"you need to stop making blanket statement" I agree! I hate blanket statements, which is why I took offense and responded to you in the first place. What I'm saying is that sexual attraction is not something you have any control over as a person, obviously. That includes ethnicity, which is simply a part of just basic outer appearance. A person could happen to not feel physical attraction towards people of certain skin colours, however that does not necessarily mean they think less of those people. You can control how you think of and behave towards people of different ehnicities- that's what being discriminatory or not is about. But you can't control who you actually feel attracted to.

25:14 Why is Jacklyn complaining about this being a conversation? If I'm not mistaken, Arielle started this conversation by making a video explaining why she isn't attracted to a specific group of people. Nobody asked her to make that video, she just felt the need to say extremely problematic and defensive things for no particular reason. Do these people think the trans community actually want to have conversations about why cis people don't think we're good enough for them? Maybe if they just didn't say problematic things in the first place, conversations like this wouldn't have to exist.

If you're not attracted to something or someone it's not in your control. If you feel pressured into sex or relationships because you're afraid you're being transphobic, sexist or racist, that's just not right. You're not being homophobic if you don't want a gay relationship for example.
@ValerieRaya
@ValerieRaya 7 лет назад
But if you know you are transphobic, you don't try to justify it, you try to work on it.

ValerieRaya Not when it comes to sex and relationships. That's not "transphobia" that's sexuality
@ValerieRaya
@ValerieRaya 7 лет назад
Kennedy Toms There should not be transphobia in sex nor relationships, that's true. There is much, however, in our society and in our dating. Example: If you are a gay man, you are attracted to men. If you now exclude people from your potential dating pool because of their race and/or because they are trans (or if you add people because they are trans) or because they are intersex, then that makes you racist and/or transphobic. And then you should try to work on that and become a better person. I have gay men tell me they would date and be attracted to women if these women have penises. Just as Arielle, a lesbian, said she would date men.

^ fuck off. my body, my choice in who I want to fuck or not. It's called CONSENT. Trying to manipulate people into fucking you because otherwise they're something-phobe or racist is fucking rapey. You're basically bypassing people's consent like sex and relationships are owed to you. That's not the case.
@ValerieRaya
@ValerieRaya 7 лет назад
Ipernova "my body, my choice in who I want to fuck or not. It's called CONSENT." Absolutely. Don't let anyone try to blur your boundaries. Consent that is not freely given is not consent at all. Everyone who tries to guilt you into sex is garbage and you should cut them out of your life if necessary. "Trying to manipulate people into fucking you because otherwise they're something-phobe or racist is fucking rapey." I fully agree and that was kinda what I was saying all along. You should always try to change to get rid of your enmities and strive towards becoming a better or decent person, yet that is something you need to do, not something others can do for you.
