Arijit is rooted to Bengal, still he is well connected to his village and Bengali culture. I wanted to say that he is making the audience of Bengali songs outside Bengal cordially and skillfully.
I think Maharashtr is out of bengal geographically but musicaly not , caus just now watched Latest Marathi blockbuster movie called " Maharashtr Shahir " that movie is on a Shahir Krushna Sable in maharashtr people called them Shahir Sable , Basically Shahir is aperson who can wrote song and sing song and compose too but main thing is the song must be for well being of people , their songs become work as booster for all freefome fighter of maharashtra , So let come to the point , in that movie shown in down fase of life one lady from bengal called to perform in Bengal and Bengali public welcome Marathi wedding songs from that shahir with open heart .
Same like the 90's, scholars and musicians from bengal are ruling the Music Industry. Arijit singh is the biggest example for the musial heritage and legacy of bengal. As the most of compositions here are by SD Burman, RD Burman, Salil Choudhury.

I'm not a Marathi but when I heard this tribute and especially that Marathi song "Mi dolkara" and heard the original also I felt Arijit's version is better and I've heard this thousand times I don't know it's meaning but I'm loving it. ❤❤❤❤

Actually lata ji's songs are very difficult to sing no one is 100 % perfect in singing her song....here they are giving tribute to her.so it is obvious that they will not be 100% perfect...but they are singing great.....@@SouravKumar-dk6mb
