pUSSYcREAM It's stoner talk for "please help me I don't know who I am anymore I've lost all contact with reality because that sweet og grandmaster kush."
Aris x SethKill commentary combo in EVO pools was amazing. Y'all probably know the notable matchup where Aris busted the best one liners between Poongko vs Oniisan. And Yeah Aris' commentary on the LTG/Viscant FT10 was also great. Regarding the parry, some people make it out to be the the thing that breaks matches. Watch the matches and the parries are not always deciding them. Its usually on a hot read, a confirm into super art or some really good neutral play.
Ya, that new collection their coming out with will be the best time to get back into it since we're finally going to have a native PC version of Third Strike, which is awesome.
I know nothing about 3rd strike. I didn't get into 2d fighters seriously until I tried CvS2 but mannnn this game is hype. It gives me the same excitement as Tekken.
love the enthusiasm, but don't expect to jump on and be able to do the thing the guys in this video are doing. third strike like a lot of the fighting games back then is extremely difficult and takes extremely precise input for even the most basic things. it takes a tone of practice to do even the most basic bread and butter combos.
Cozy if online edition didn't bring a resurgence to this game, i dont think this one will either. A lot of people are realy hyped about all the crazy shit that happens a co-op cup and want to that themselves. But then they are going to get a chance to play the game and realize how hard it is and then immediately drop it. And the old fans of this game are probably going to drop it because there is no way they can make this game HD and not have it be laggy. Thats why everyone dropped online edition.
I've never been good at it, but it's still my favorite Street Fighter. Everything from soundtracks to animation was a win, and the parry system changed my 2D fighting game life.
Ok fuck all the people who say "you didn't play it back in the day blah blah blah." Yeah? Well what if they wanna learn or start? Shouldn't we encourage them? I'm ass at the game but I still love it. I'd love some competition at my level.
We all gotta start somewhere even with old games. Even if we never get at the level of these old men who have been playing the game at its prime with some of the best competition, if you really are into the game your joy for it will never diminish. I mean why do these old guys still play Coupe Cup every year and have this grand get-together? Pride, Fun and passion. That said its kind of a crime I have not driven to my local arcade which has 3S and old KOF cabs to dick around there. I mean its nice to learn 3S on emulation but it def has its flaws.
in my opinion alot of fighting games with cheap tactics seem to be a bit more interesting than ones with constant balance updates, but then again they couldn't constantly update games back then.
I play arcade mode of this game every day(alex is the man). If the anniversary collection was a switch exclusive I'd buy a switch that's how good the game is for me. Truly a masterpiece from a time capcom was actually trying to perfect the genre.
I think Darkstalkers 3 could rival 3rd Strike if the chars had the same base tool set to work with, but sadly is as random as the random dizzy in ST, with how radically different each reversal on every character works, not to mention there's even characters that don't even have one. If somehow those little rough edges were polished, Darkstalkers could be another 3rd strike I think; but, one can only dream. Is still pretty dope to watch, I love how fast it is, not only on the game's pace, but on how quickly you have to make inputs.
Very true. New generation almost killed Street Fighter plus arcades were starting to die so lots of people didn’t even know about 2nd impact and 3rd strike.
Scorpio 1025 Actually arcades werent dying. Marvel super heroes vs street fighter and marvel vs capcom had people lining to play it. But sf 3 ran in a different hardware (cps3), which was expensive, had some bullshit anti piracy protection. All cps3 games are kinda cult, niche following because of that. In fact, warzard is problably capcom's most obscure fighting game
the legend 2nd impact is problably the most broken in all main street fighter games and I think third strike also improved the artwork and brought a more interesting soundtrack.
I played this when I was 15 that was 2 years ago and it became my favorite Street fighter. My first street fighter was aplha then sfiv, ssfiv, sf2 turbo, aplha 3, third strike and sfv
Presentation wise it set the standard for Street Fighter and fighting games. Animations were buttery smooth, game sounds had 'ooomph' to it along with little touches. Game announcer was MAD Hype to listen to. Soundtrack of course is also top notch and you can't really get tired with it. As a game, it introduced new aspects which was daunting for many new players.
variety? Cvs2 had parry too, so many grooves(mechanics) allowed the most variety of any game in it's time. Id even go as far and say it could still be, even today.
While I don't agree with the fanboys and posers that blow this game's cock proclaiming it as the greatest fighter in the world, I will agree it's the most exciting Street Fighter game, precisely because it's so different from all the other ones.
It wouldnt be hard for Capcom to make some official tournaments for it. You know, taking advantage of the whole nostalgia movement revolving the franchise right now. Secondly, that would become an incentive for consuming their 30th anniversary retro release, and it would help to make it not flop like their past retro releases. So it's plausible at least. On the other hand, 3S represents some concepts that go against the current style of Capcom fg's, so this is a reason why that wouldn't happen as well. There are reasons supporting either case.
I get that people know that 3s is the superior and better compared to the rest of the series in terms of game mechanics but a lot forget that it takes so much work to be good in this game. I bet you all that everyone will hate this game if it released today especially that it lacks character variety in tournament play. Heck, it might even be called "The Dark Souls of fighting games."
People would definitely shit on it. High damage combos, small roster, poor balance, high skill ceiling and a low skill floor, much tighter execution requirements, unblockables, crazy gimmicks, Makoto and Yun, no story mode, and lots of 50/50s. SFV has only a few of those things and people whine about it constantly.
People may not be willing to put in the time to play the game, but at least it's really fun to watch. I basically fall asleep trying to watch SF4 and 5 for more than 30 mins because of how slow and repetitive the gameplay is compared to 3S.
J Crash Triggered.. the word morons use when they say something stupid and then get a stupid response because of it. Go back to your casual trash, this is a celebration of a REAL Street Fighter. I guess the truth does hurt.
J Crash. Okay then let's put that claim to the test. You have two minutes to answer these questions or else I know you are a bullshitter. Twelve has a particular super that is very dangerous for a specific moment, tell me the super and tell me what's dangerous about it. You can get a huge defense bonus as who by taunting 3 times, who has the second highest bonus, how many taunts to get it? What is the Japanese and European name for Hugo's super art 3? If you don't answer these questions in 2 minutes I know you are nothing but a s*** talker and a poser. Anyone that truly loves Third Strike can answer these questions in that time span.
I wish I got to play Third Strike when it was popping. My first SF was Ultra 4 and now SFV. Not saying they're bad, but they don't have the flair or intensity that TS's had.
The special thing about sf to me has ways been how unique each one is. Not two street fighter sequels are the same, so that theory about sf purists being a myth is 100% true. Hence, anyone who tells you "BrO ThIS iSN't STrEt fiGhtEr" is just tripping. That being said, Sf5 is still the worst sf by far, and 3rd strike is pretty amazing if you're down to parry stuff and you happen to like any of the viable characters.
I absolutely fucking love the sprites, the UI, the character art, the music, the weird and wacky characters like necro and twelve, the supers, and god its just such a fun game to play and watch. I think SF4 was a better competitive game, but 3rd strike is always near and dear in my heart. If I ever buy an arcade cabinet it would either be 3rd strike or cvs2 (cvs2 mainly because you cant play it on fightcade).
The most bandwagoned fighting game of all time. Its funny, i remember back when SF3 New Gen came out in '97 hardly anyone liked it, i would be one of the very few people in my local arcade playing the game. Most just ignored it and pretended it didnt exist, and instead played ST or the Alpha games, same for the rest of the series, including 3S. But all of a sudden after the Daigo parry moment at EVO years later everyone all of a sudden loved the game and thought it was the best fighter ever, people jumped on the bandwagon left and right, half of them didnt even know the three series existed before then. So many posers man, lmao.
the legend looking at these comments is crazy. I don't remember the first 2 even at the arcade and 3rd strike was removed quite quickly. Came back later on and had a lot of players when it was cheaper around 2005. Also games hard as fuck and most players look like total newbies
legit saw the daigo parry when i was like 13, and I had only played sf2 casually. 3s was probably the first game where i had to work to get decent at lol.
