I can't imagine the emotional roller coaster she would have experienced going from alternate in 2016 to qualifying as an individual in 2021 to getting ready to go home and now achieving her Olympic dream. Major props to Skinner on doing the vault of her life and having ALL her hard work pay off
@@papi-sauce she’s done after the Olympics she’s said multiple times, she took off some college to focus on the come back so now she’s gonna go back to school. Athletes cannot accept brand deals and participate in NCAA in colleges
I feel so sad for the struggle Simone is going through, but I'm just so unbelievably happy for the rest of the US women's gymnasts chance to shine! I was on the edge of my seat watching these vault finals, I'm so damn happy for Mykayla! She got her well deserved medal ❤❤❤❤
@ed ryerson god will you people STFU about that? ADHD medication does not enhance the performance of someone who actually struggles with adhd. It only makes people without ADHD have that side effect. Also I believe there are ways to bring prescribed adhd medication to Japan so idk why this has become a huge rumor anyway.
There’s really no struggle Simone is going through though. It’s all contrived and mental in a physical sense she isn’t struggling and is completely fine. She just didn’t have access to her Ritalin which I understand would throw you off but not in any other way than withdrawals which could’ve been prepared for with detox during training but honestly these add meds are borderline performance enhancing so it’s a mess.
@@randomdude189 so there is the crux of the issue with the rumor: she had a year and a half or more of heads up she'd be going to Tokyo, so I'm quite certain they figured out either what she needed to be able to bring it, or have a set plan to detox/taper off. You really think she wouldn't have planned? Either way, everything I've seen from pics and videos of her look absolutely nothing like someone withdrawing from any sort of medication. It's really irresponsible and dangerous to discuss someone's medical condition and medication, especially when it's not confirmed.
@ed ryerson okay, but that doesn't mean Simone doesn't have ADHD. I highly doubt it wouldn't have been discovered in the 8 years of her being on top of the sport, and the most famous female gymnasts in the US. Don't you think someone would've found that out by now?
This! This right here is what I've been waiting ALL DAY to come out!! Finally, Mykala is an Olympic Medalist! Never a teammate, always an alternate. And It Paid OFF!!!!
@@saliseduardo4357 That's amazing. So many athletes go through tremendous hardships, like your favorite, to be in the Olympics. They persevere and have stamina through very difficult times.
@@susansmith493 the Olympic is a very eexciting time for every athlete . The two are young and have a bright future . They ‘ll shine for many years ✨ Blessings !
It's the pride of knowing one of our own who went through a lot of pain, countless hours of practice, who thought she wouldn't even compete in these Olympics get a silver no less. That's why we get a lump in our throats, she symbolized what it means to be an American, and a champion.
@Tut Pook exactly Skinner is the champion and won rightfully Biles wasn’t able The medal still is as much a reward to Skinner we all have our measure of talent it’s still as much of a Silver as if Simone win her own Silver (edit spelling)
I remember watching Makayla‘s packing video and she was so nervous and broke my heart when I heard that she was going home but I’m so proud that she was able to win silver but wow what a emotional roller coaster
I cried when Mykayla won Silver I was so happy she deserved it wasn’t gold but I didn’t care at that point Mykayla almost went home without a medal but I’m glad she didn’t
I'm so proud of Mykayla!! As an Arizona native and seeing her rough elite career, constantly being an alternate, I'm so happy she got to compete and win a medal. If I'm honest I thought she should've gotten gold, but dang I'm so happy for her.
Kudos to Simone for knowing that by taking care of herself and being honest, she gave others a chance to rise up and have their own opportunity to achieve their dreams!
Idk if this was planned or what but I worked out perfectly for Mykayla and suni! But you have to remember if Simone had completed she would made “herSTORY” after performing a yurchenco double pike which has never been done nor attempted in female gymnast before!
I am so happy for her! Way to go Myk! She vaulted beautifully too. She had more height and distance than usual and her form was good too. Just so happy for her. Enjoy all the happiness! You did! I’d love to see Martas face since she’s the reason Myk was the alternate in 2016.😈
Martha was the reason? I hope Mykayla writes a tell-all book - I feel like she'd be really honest and you'd get to see what it was really like being an elite gymnast with the Karolyis.
So many were dumping on Simone, when the reality of it she sacrificed what could have been more wins for herself and opened the way for her teammates to achieve their personal life dreams. And on top of it Simone chose to stay and support her team knowing all the negative comments and mean jokes being made towards her literally from every country around the world. I can't imagine that sort of pressure. I have hard enough time if just a few people around me say crap. It's kicking someone when they are down. Simone has done so much for the sport of gymnastics and made history for the US. She could have chosen to stick it out, but knew in her heart she would drag down her team with poor scores. She knew her teammates could step up and shine. And people like MyKayla and Suni did exactly that!! So happy and proud for them.
Yes! This comment says it all! Simone is truly a class act, the definition of a team player. What really upsets me is how uninformed people are spouting off nonsense, Simone didn’t “quit” or give up she didn’t just have a bad event. What she’s experiencing is a disconnect between brain/body, not knowing where you are in the air, you can’t control anything, it’s frighteningly scary to think of just how one regular misstep can injure in normal circumstances, competing with the twisties could be a death sentence.
Never give up! Your time will come if you never give up! God always has a plan! 😊🙌🏾 happy for all the women USA gymnastics winning and also praying for Simone biles👏🏾
Hello, Humans. When we’re born, the only innate fears we have are the fear of falling, and the fear of loud sounds. All other fears are learned. TERRANCE OUT
Here there's a medal that USA could've easily won 5 years earlier, if they hadn't chosen Douglas because of marketing or wherever other reasons they had to choose her, to do wherever she was sent to do.
I feel bad for being happy that Simone pulled out. :( I really like Simone but I am so happy for MyKayla and Suni. Don't get me wrong, I think that Suni would have won gold either way. I am just tired of the media putting all the shine on one person.
I am so proud of McKayla and I'm not just saying this because I'm American I believe she should have had the gold medal her vault was just much better yeah Jessica stuck The vault that her vault was not as high just wasn't as good as Mckaylas
I’m so super proud of all your progress and all your positive vibes it all works out in your favor absolutely one of my favorite Olympian so far congratulations!
I’m happy Simone Biles took time off to give her teammates an opportunity to win medals! It’s not as if they couldn’t win medals however, Simones constant wins made it a little hard...
Yes! Everyone misses that. When Simone Biles stepped back, others thrived. All they can think about is how she "let everyone down," when she ended up uplifting others to shine!
I have been following her story for a little while now, and when I saw a video earlier today of her husband’s reaction I truly started bawling. I am just so proud of everything she has overcome and what she has been able to accomplish.
There’s no excusing that Simone abandoned her duties to her team. But everything happens for a reason, and I’m so happy that someone as worthy as MyKayla was able to step up to the plate. I remember seeing how heartbroken she was having to go home without a medal, then the unthinkable happened and she made an unbelievable comeback. This is truly the tale of the heroes journey.
Simone didn’t abandon her team she withdrew to mental health. She was the center focus all the olympics and being docked for your talent, isn’t fair. She had so much pressure on her shoulders before Tokyo. They weren’t judging her fairly for her skills because of the difficulty. And she was the poster for team USA, that’s a lot of pressure on someone. I’m just glad she landed safely on that vault. Cause if she wasn’t mentally there and got lost in the air she could of landed horribly and got seriously injured. Simone did the right thing for her, and the team. If she competed and not fully there mentally her scores would be horrible and actually hurt the team and we possibly wouldn’t of got a medal at all. Thankfully Simone told MyKayla to stay, she almost left after failing to qualify but Simone told her to stay.
Experiencing the twisties can take weeks to recover from before it’s safe to perform again. Stopping to protect one’s body (and not break one’s neck) takes courage. As an 🇺🇸 I am absolutely proud of Simone for recognizing that it would not be safe to attempt any of her moves while in that state, as well as in the process risking a team medal. I’m also happy that Mykayla was able to show just how good she is!
They’re all champions. A little misstep and you miss the medal. It’s an accomplishment only to be able to participate in the Olympics, imagine getting a medal as well.
@@Guifross idk about that, she made big landing mistakes but she had better form, higher flight and better block. She deserves the medal though, im happy for her.
love it !!!..Was heart breaking not seeing her make the team...was heart breaking when she never made the finals ....and the this!!!! OMG..its awesome!!!
