My son and I took the bear Canyon route up past seven Falls. This added what I referred to as the useless thousand we then went down the road past the ski park to Summerhaven for a total of 26 miles.
Wow that is a good one. Way to add some miles. Did you do it in one day or did you spend the night on the trail and break it up into 2 days? We did the Bear Canyon Hike and did a video when doing it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QNRu5pUTwhs.htmlsi=N0Lg_Qx22gsOAQB8
9:15 minutes total time. I think we refilled our bottles and filtered at the same spot you did. I have some photos, but I don’t know how to attach them to this post.
Wish they had an early morning hikers shuttle at Sabino. I did an overnighter to Hutch’s Pool earlier in the year with my son. Fun area. Water was to cold to swim 🤣. Question- what sun hoodie do you have on. Haven’t found a perfect one but like the one by KETL except it gets a little stinky and doesn’t have a button by the chin so if the wind picks up the hood blows off. My hardest hike was Jackass Canyon up by Navajo Bridge. I had my 3 young boys and we were backpacking and it was hot. Learned a lot from that one. It’s not long but more technical with bouldering. If I did it without my kids it wouldn’t have been so challenging. Need a Navajo Permit but it’s a fun one! You guys are animals!
