Nikita Mohan yes that’s what I felt, and what my fiancé felt as well. Actually we both are puzzled why people didn’t like the film. It was grand, beautiful, well made.

@@adhiroham Yes the effort was there, the dialogues were nice and there was a proper structure; but it was too methodical, as if everyone was going through their lines. Main problem was with actors, for me even Alia was not convincing with dialogues. It should have purely been a story, throwing partition angle into it felt out of place. Life was not filled with glitter and glamour in those days.

Ashutosh Gowarikar is a great filmmaker. But here he made a mistake by casting Arjun Kapoor. He should have gone for a better actor. Anyway, wish him all the best. Always been his fan. Afterall, he has given us SWADES. ❤ The best Indian film ever made. 💖

Seriously guys! Have you’ll seen what the Tamil film actors have done for movies? Actors like Kamal Hasan, Vikram, Surya,Vijay Sethupathy have gone through serious physical alterations. These guys shave their head off & believe they’ve done something groundbreaking 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sannon are not the problem. Screenplay, editing and dialogues are. Ashutosh has made a good film. But we expect greatness from him. Also, this movie proves that audience can't associate favorably with the loss.

Bollywood people and stars don't have a strong work ethic and don't believe in preparing and researching for a role unlike Hollywood. It's obvious from the final product and all their interviews. They just care for their "image", makeup, costume and how they look on screen instead of looking at the bigger picture and acknowleding the fact that they are just a part of the film and of something much bigger than themselves. That's it.

@@sudhangshudas3099 Exactly like if I was a star kid born out of so much wealth, privileges and with all the resources at my fingertips I would ask my parents to hire the best acting and dance teachers so I can always do my best and no1 will question my talent at least and whether I deaerve to act and do the job. But people like Sonam, Arjun, Sonakshi, Sid, etc are all too damn lazy to learn and improve even after a LONG STRING of flops

Kriti Sanon had a very substantial role in the movie. It's through her eyes we are shown the movie and she's the narrator too. She did full justice to her role. It IS a big deal

I just watched Panipat. 3.5 or 4 stars out of five. Loved the historical depth with maps etc, loved the sets, Arjun acted much better than I expected. On the flip side, Kriti was meh, looked too modern especially in the first half. She did get more into the skin of the character in the second half; did not like the liberty Ashutosh ji took of making Kriti’s character suddenly be able to battle 10 armed men, when nothing in the movie suggested warrior training for her. the CGI of the peacocks in a scene was so badly done. Overall worth watching.

Ashutosh you are courageous to work with Arjun and Kirti. I am sorry to be mean but to be honest to your question what made you pick the film - it was like haha as if they had any choice 😅. And I am not sure how great is it to completely create a new personality of a character (Kirti's character) if you are selling it with a label of "true story"

No .1 Achamenid, selucid, parthians, greko-bacteria etc all were focused on trade route to Iran and Constantinople ...so they can control the trade between central Asia , china , Iran and rome.. and never brothered about controlling Delhi and bengal ...same applies to Ahmed Shah abdali he wanted to hold his empire in Afghanistan more than Delhi .....u need to understand the roots of Mughal Empire (came after Timur) and Delhi sultanate which has its roots from samanid empire....No.2 nobody wants to cross hindukush and reach Delhi unless important or if they had no other option it's a costly travel thru Mountains and deplete all resources...once they come to Delhi no going back locked between Himalayas and Hinduksh .....

Indian/Bollywood logic 101: Mughal and Afghan Emporers were bad because they are ruthless in battlefield and won every war. But Rajput and Marathas are the real hero because they were giving and benevolent towards the opponents often resulting in them getting killed and losing wars. Bollywood logic 102: Khilji defeated the Mongols (the most feared empire on Earth) thrice, but had to revert to cheating to beat some amateur Rajput king. The way Bollywood is showing Rajput and Maratha losers, Imagine only if these Mughal and Afghan Kings were Hindu, Akbar would be shown as God of Thunder and Khilji would be shown as God of War

Enough of these period dramas from Bollywood honestly! None of them are close to facts, more of taking too much liberty. It’s all about elaborate sets and magnitude but no soul in these films. The actors don’t even get into the skin of the character- Arjun couldn’t even lose weight, Kirti looks so contemporary in her language and demeanour in the film.
