Heard something about the rage mechanic, apparently when it enters rage the blood flow is cut off from the implant (or brain not sure) and at that point it’s basically a uncontrollable war beast

The dinosaurs have cybernetic implants in their brains? Neat way to explain how easily they can be tamed and obedient to humans. I’m a new player still on the Island. I haven’t tamed a Giga yet, though I have an idea of how to do it. I don’t know if I have the nerve to run and lure one into a trap but I do have a breeding pair of Quetzals. I’ve used a trained offspring with a platform saddle to fly just out of reach of my target Dino, stand on the platform and plunk it with tranq darts until it goes down before… But never tried it with a Giga. I see no reason to try it while I’m still on the Island. I can’t use it to go caving for Artifacts, I can’t use it against the bosses nor can I bring it into the Tek Cave. At the moment Gigas and Carchas are useless to me. I suppose I could potentially use a Carcha just to clear the Tek Cave but given that I can’t take it to the boss fight at the end I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble.

It doesn't happen often, but I've been eaten by my giga a few times lol. Only happened to me about 3 times. 2 times were from killing kentro. They don't go down without giving some "f*ck you" damage 🤣 and so my giga had me for a snack because he didn't appreciate the mouth full of thorns and nonstop bleeding I was thrusting upon him 🤣

I feel you. I've gotten eaten by my giga twice, well three times if you count trying to tame. First time was noglin control. Second time that noglin didn't believe in podding and was like here's one for the road. Third, I underestimated it's reach. I thought I was safe on the hill.

Ultimately I don't like to tame these creatures. The reason is due to them getting less powerful after you tame them, then the rage that would cause a tamed Giga to kill their rider. Plus one isn't ale to sue Gigas for boss fights. I opt for Rex, and spending the time and effort to breeding and stacking mutations. Like what Syntac does.

Exactly why I don’t tame them. I’m new and in the Island. They can’t go anywhere useful like the boss fights, Tek Cave or going after the Artifacts. The Rex is far superior in my eyes.

And that contributes to why I will never tame a Giga until I actually reach a world boss or one that the Giga isn’t banned from. As a new player on the Island I don’t see the appeal. It couldn’t help me with caving for the Artifacts. (I shouldn’t need to do that again on the Island at least.) It couldn’t help me win the boss fights. (I probably won’t try the Alpha versions anytime soon but the Gamma and Betas are mine.) And it can’t help me get through the Tek Cave. Nor in the following boss fight. Given that I grow fond of my tames, the idea of the Giga betraying me is unpleasant. I probably will tame one eventually for the world bosses but I won’t be riding it. I’ll be flying high above so it can rage all it wants.

For the pronunciation just don’t put so much emphasis on the note. It’s more like gigantic but giganuhtosaurus. It’s actually in the online dictionary with pronunciation attached to it 🤷‍♂️ not saying you’re wrong I’m just saying… but keep up the great work enjoying every second of it ☺️

I jus tamed one my first time, felt amazing but ofcourse, something happened, anyways, I was on my wyvern, and darting it with the shocking darts, ended up knocking out my flyer, then it’s came it me, full panick, I pull out the shorty, jus started blasting it while running, then I shot my last dart, and it went down, I was feeling scared and amazed, like, “did I jus knock it out” was awesome experience

Yes, once you tame a Giga it is yours forever unless it dies. However they get a massive nerf once tamed so they are much weaker than the wild ones. But if it takes enough damage it will throw you off its back and eat you. Eventually it will calm down and you will be able to ride it again. Unfortunately the Giga is almost totally worthless unless you’re a PvP player. It is banned from the vast majority of boss fights. Only a tiny fraction of bosses will allow use of a Giga. For example I’m on the Island and it couldn’t help me get the Artifacts, it can’t enter any of the boss arenas and it can’t even enter the Tek cave and subsequent boss fight. It’s absolutely useless to me. I suppose it could farm meat and hide efficiently but even then the T-Rex is perfectly serviceable for that.

Yes, it’s normal. The Giga takes a massive nerf when it’s tamed. It’s far weaker tamed than it was when it was wild. Seriously if you try to fight a wild Giga with yours, even if your Giga is 3x higher level than the wild one, you’ll still lose.
