Game Summary

Programmers have to care while trying to figure out how to get stuff working properly. The basic problem is when a new engine is employed, there is a lot to learn. You think you had a huge learning curve when you started playing ASE, or ASA?

@@Snowy_prime I guess the idea they don't care is not going to be resolved in the minds of those that have no clue. When you are tasked to learn how something works, but are having trouble getting ahead of the learning curve, frustration by all involved, even the users will be normal. Then there is the problem with asking for an increase in income. A struggling enterprise cannot afford to increase anyones check, but the boss is likely to take an increase thinking it could be the last before the whole mess caves in.

Snail and Wildcard have done this to themselves . They don't want to listen to the community on anything so WHY would the community even TRY to help on saving the game? Wildcards MIS-management of EVERYTHING killed the player base .

woulda been nice if they finished ark before greenlighting all this junk, early access day 1 bugs and glitches are still rampant throughout ark survival evolved, try firing a dozen bolts from a crossbow without the game forgetting how to reload it until you unequip and reequip it, lol, still happens with longnecks too,

Poor optimization and large tribes taking over and controlling an official map and some being punished while others are allowed to get away with it has made the game not fun. Let's be truthful here. Ark2 isn't coming. I don't think it every was. And the game Devs are now trying to lay blame on the people not buying ASA instead of blaming themselves and their lack of integrity. They deserve everything they get.

@@GenDrake3 I take it then, you have a 3090 or Above graphics card. Not everyone has $700+ depending on which Country you live in to buy to upgrade to to play at optimal settings. Most have to use a long code to remove shadow, remove volumetric clouds and fog, remove water reflection etc just so the game isn't a laggy mess or crashes every few minutes.

The console servers are dead. Mega tribes locking down the official servers and on smalls everyone is allied because wildcard doesn’t enforce the rules.

PVP is disgusting on official. The only thing that slightly redeemed it in ASE was being able to hide on a large map like Crystal Isles, and deploy and stash pods without fridges.

@@anonymous16472 something like FF7 is definitely a massive upgrade in terms of graphics... ASA is not so much considering most of those extra particles are causing problems and you have to basically turn them off to get a stable FPS.

I hope they can succeed. I truly am enjoying asa. Although i have nobody to play with and play by myself on my server. I still have fun. And luckily i have a decent computer that allows me to see the beauty of the game. Despite the constant crashes

All the best dedis are on ASE because of the maps. The new maps on official ASA generate numbers till the alpha tribe is determined then population drops like crazy. Rinse and repeat for each map

I hear single player on ASA is broken from a few of my friends. When we all play on a server we have no problem and we love it (PVE). Only issues on servers when we have someone with an over the top base with every single Dino out.

The game SUCKS on the xbox. You keep saying console players love it but that is not true. The game is broken beyond belief to the point I can not even load saved worlds without it completely crashing the game. If they had kept going with evolution and just added modding to the console they would be raking it in. You say it is draining and frustrating seeing comments like this? Maybe there is a reason they keep being made. I paid for the game on release day which was a massive layout for me as I am disabled and live on benefits to not be able to play it for over half the time it has been released and then the kick in the nuts to have it go onto game pass a few months later. Snail and wildcard deserve all the bad press they are getting. I am adding this as an edit. This is all on solo, I do not play on official or unofficial and I have well over 2000 hours on ASE just playing solo on xbox.

I even upgraded to the xbox x and it still crashes and ark has always been my go to game for years. I'm almost more mad I paid full price then they put it on game pass like a smack in the mouth

I don't have these issues and I play xbox so it could always be something with your settings for the Xbox and TV I had issues but I just lowered my TV graphics and it went worked perfectly so always check to see if it's an issue on your end or the games

Amen brother. I'm on Series X and my single player is completely broken. I'm stuck on scorched earth, every time I try to transfer to another one the game crashes and it duplicates my character and items. It really doesn't matter what maps they release if I can't play them, the optimization is terrible. There was a month I couldn't even play it because it was running so choppy that it gave me headaches. If they don't do something fast, this is going to turn into Atlas 2.0

I have my theory and that when ASA gets so far with content released Snail will quietly and officially shut down Evolved and make it disappear to force all those players over to ASA by giving no choice of playing the old game. Then they will say to investors hey look our game is doing great when it's not.

Well, I'm playing It on the p. S5, I'm just playing It right now. I mean the game one is fine in consoles. It's definitely really well done and stuff like that. And I'm really having fun with the game that I did ever back in the evolve, I mean evolve, was okay back in the day like I really did enjoy did but with ascended. I am really having fun a lot with The Mods. They're definitely interesting and stuff. I had a couple of mods to play round and they were a lot of fun. I really did enjoyed it. And I'm really looking forward to the future of ascended, and it does well in the Console, like on the PS5, it's really a lot of fun. I even have. Ascending. Copy of the game, because I pre-ordered it. And I have it, and anyways, the game is really a lot of fun. I really do enjoyed it. What do you guys think?Do you enjoy ascended

Nail on the head, I actually lost my better graphics card recently and had to downgrade, and have no chance of being able to enjoy ASA now due to that, eventually will upgrade but they are just so expensive currently. I really hope they do more optimizations for it.

The major issue on the player count is because ark devs are picking favorites on who they want to help. Gang gang and good comms are ruining the game with the cheating and Gang gang will not get dev because they have streamers that market the game they can’t afford to lose it’s so bad that they have been sent hundreds of pictures and video clips of them doing it just to get ignored and other people have been told to move out of a rat hole they are in but they get special privilege and were told “nice spot” by a dev so that’s exactly why the game is dying definitely a story worth covering as it’s obvious their getting dev help now.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ark. The IP has the potential to eliminate what I hate, but their are so many other games out there that I do not hate and only love. But they don't have dinosaurs.

Big issues that never seem to get fixed, or gain attention from game management tend to chase off players. Obviously the programming has suffered due to so many on the team still trying to figure out how to make things work, so naturally players notice and believe it will be like Ark SE, some stuff will never work right. One issue that has even me ticked off is when I get disconnected by either ARK servers, or my ISP my avatar tends to die. Most call it a lag kill, but the programmers cannot fix this? It reminds me of the same problem with ARK SE when an avatar would get kicked off their mount for all sorts of reasons and death was so common.

Can't say that I'm surprised ASA is going down. It's basically the exact same buggy game just with console mod support and a new coat of paint. Heck they didn't even include the Primitive Plus conversion which is a criminally underrated game mode.

My major issue is that we glitch through the map and die because either we fall until we die or can't get back onto the map. Otherwise for the most part I really enjoy the game.

I have no issues with ASA, I love both games and haven’t had any problems with Ascended that I didn’t have with Evolved. I play on Xbox and both games crashed on me at times. At least with Ascended I get to play with mods! Love the videos man, keep them coming!

Most people can’t afford a 4090 to play the game at 60fps. I’m still running a 1080ti and I can’t afford a 40 series card, and I’m definitely not buying one just to play one game

They should have done Ragnarok before Abberation as it’s one of the most popular maps. Once that releases and they get towards the end of the pipeline and they release Valguero and Fjordur the playerbase will start filtering back in I think.

I'm on PS5 and honestly, I would never go back to Evolved unless i'm forced to... the differences are major.. Even with the actual engine. The improvements done so far makes the game already more enjoyable than what it was in Evolved. The only downside is the delays to get all maps.

If they were to change the amount of generators you can have per server to limit the number of caves 1 single tribe can control would make it more enjoyable. Also having club ark bank have an actual use like refreshing upload or having an increased timer in upload or something

Man, they really did badly this time around. There's a crazy amount of foundation spamming, and people are able to block the Obelisks. You can't open a cryopod without a generator and cryofridge, and if someone is nearby, you can't even open the cryopod.

The biggest complaint I’m constantly hearing from people is the cryo pods. Who wants to play with these new cryos over the old ones? Probably almost no one. Start talking about that in your videos to get the topic rising. Everyone’s praying extinction they change it back and if they don’t this game is unfortunately dead

I'm not putting my ASA server back up until both the performance update and Abberation are both released. This is pretty much ASA's last chance with my group though. Half of us struggle to get enough performance for the game to be 'playable'

Not to mention a small fact. I looked up the stats and while it can be played on Series S, the game is optimized SPECIFICALLY for Series X. Because of that, if you didn't have the money to buy a Series X, the game runs decently enough but the graphics are actual garbage. Everything is blurry and put of focus

As a creator of Ark, content I went back to ASE as ASA just sucks right now. The most going for ASA is probably the building mechanics. Sloppy graphics throuought even though it looks amazing but a closer look you'll see how cheap it looks.

I've put 1000s of hours into this game but stopped playing when they went to the new engine as I could see what they were gonna do and boy was I right. After screwing over the community numerous times before when it was just ark survival evolved, then re-releasing the exact same game but with a new engine AND charging for it again then going full on pay to win and still not fixing the game they have the balls to complain about player numbers. WC and snail deserve to fail massively. Gas lighting the community saying it'll be their fault that ark 2 is not released as they're not buying and playing a broken unsupported game with loads of issues and broken official servers that are taken over by tribes even on PVE and they do nothing about it yeah make it our fault.... They never had any intention of releasing Ark 2 just milking the cash cow as much as possible. Rot in hell WC

I was there the night it was supposed to launch but got delayed a few hours hyped to play. here we are months later i havent watched ark content in months just because its unplayable on pc

The devs need to fix the existing bugs and problems but they can’t because they are SO far behind schedule. The developers focus is on getting the maps out to justify people buying the DLC’s. All this and the game is STILL in early access. How are they able to sell DLC when the game has not fully released yet? I love ark but the developers sure know how to sour the relationship. My main problem at this point is the anti-meshing. I have died to that more than actual players. Anti-meshing rips you out the game and makes you lose a bunch of stuff. For no reason. The volcano, the ocean floor and caves are stupid for it. I’m in no was trying to do anything I should not be. Just playing the game ASAP INSTEAD and die to anti-meshing. Quite literally have no motivation to play as at any moment you can just lose everything for no reason.

I love ASA and my PC has no problem playing it. The problem for me is, as a gamer who enjoys a lot of varied games, I simply don't have room for both ASE and ASA on my system, thus once I get bored with the 3 maps, I do something else. Then again, I also don't play on Official. ARK is a HORRIBLE space hog and its absolutely ridiculous how much room ASE takes up. I have honestly been playing other games while waiting for my favorite maps to drop because Island, Center and SE are at the bottom of my favorites list.

The PS5 version of Ark Survival Evolved was horrific for me. It ended up unplayable for me. Constant crashes. I originally had it on PS4 and absolutely loved it. One of the best games I've ever played apart from building issues like pillars etc. A few crashes but not many at all. When I bought my PS5 that was a very different story. It was always crashing. Called Sony Support and they kept saying the crash code was because the PS5 was too hot. Even though it would crash within 2 minutes of me turning the thing on. I held off getting Ark Survival Ascended until only 2 or 3 weeks ago. I love it. I've had no crashes. The building aspect has improved but is still tedious. I would give ASA a 8/10 for sure. If the building system would allow of levelling of the ground and less stupid glitches I would give it a 10. The graphics are brilliant. However, the devs should not have spent there time remaking this. ARK 2 should have been there priority. Gamers are not stupid and Snail games are playing on that we are. What a very bad investment move. Look at how long it is taking to bring out the new version of the maps. Imagine all of those man hours being poured into ARK 2. For them to say if Ascended does not do well there will be no ARK 2, they might as well give up the goose now. What the heck are these ARK devs thinking!!!

I stopped playing because they refuse to unban me from the forums. The paid Dino’s no thank you. If they want players back put in a season pass and unban some people especially from the forums that are used to report bugs and helps with character retrieval. Bad business moves all around. I honestly hope they go broke and sell it off to another company. This company hates criticism and instant bans for it.

If anything revives the game its abb rag or the engine/fsr upgrade For me premium mods were not a good idea if you want people to be able to support mods just give them the option to donate to them directly instead of locking out the content behind a paywall and most of the time (at least in case of maps) the content youre paying for is unfinished

On the aspect of mods, love it never get rid of it. But when it comes to the game itself, I hate all the crashing, I hate the random fpf drops, I hate the constant kicking me out of the game. They just need to work on fixing it all cause if they did I would love it, but for now I kinda want to stay away from it

It's a mix between not enough content for the price, at 25 usd plus tax a month for each server. If more non dedicated were built at lower rates, we'd see more players

The only ppl playing ase is PVP players and pve players that haven’t upgraded. They are clearly doing away with “toxic” PvP in Asa. But that’s kinda what made the game popular. Making the game pay to win didn’t help them. Tbh Asa could do good with the maps they have but it’s not because they are ignoring their pvp side.

Never bothered with Ascended because I didn’t see the point of purchasing the same game ~but with better graphics~ twice. I stuck with regular Ark and see now that it was the correct choice. Not exactly thrilled about Ark 2 limiting itself to mundane creatures and primitive tech either. The devs need to get their shit together.

I love this game despite it being so broken as in were PC players are able to write scripts to either move faster, or use aim bot, or anything to give them a more advantage over tribes that have consoles( PS5 & Xbox series X ( series S can't handle most maps do to spam)). And then there the meshing still which WildCard/Snail games claimed they had it under control ( which we all know is a lie), so the devs need to get their act together or ask for help from a bigger more experienced gaming company to figure these things out.

Let’s all be completely honest, majority of the people just want gen 2 back. Gen 2 completes every other map and makes the game much more fun. As better maps come out more players will return. I expect player count to be back to normal once all the maps are released. Until then not gonna happen.

Loving this game, my daughter and I play it on ps5 and pc. It's a shame to see the game struggling due to poor decisions and lack of working fixes on WCs and Snails part. Might have to jump ship, kinda worried I'm wasting my time playing something that, at this point, seems to be a sinking ship.

When they tied themselves to Nitrado it didn't help either. A min of 20 player slots is silly and in turn makes it too expensive to play with a few friends.

I gave it a try on pc, rtx 4060 and I can tell you that in 20 minutes (I requested an immediate refound) it crashed 3 TIMES. UNBELIEVABLE. I' M DISGUSTED. I made every possible setting,prepared before playing it but nothing worked. Fuck them. I hate them now.

I put it down before scorched came out. Then after Scorched came out I booted it up to give it a chance again. It deleted all my mods and removed them from my library and totally destroyed my save and made it unplayable. I play in single player so literally everything was just gone. I put it back down. They shouldn't have released the game without all the content together, THATS THE POINT OF REMAKES/REMASTERS, EVERYTHING ALL TOGETHER BUT BETTER. They cant even keep their own timeline they put out themselves. They shouldn't have ever announced ARK 2 if it hinges on the success of the total Failure that is ASA. Or they should have not made ASA and stuck to making Ark 2 and not shut down the ASE servers. ASE has more players and there arent even official servers anymore. How sad is that? I'm sick and tired of paying money to be a beta tester for games that release in horrible states, that take them months to years to fix. The only two that have really truly recovered from that are No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk. But most games don't have studios that stick to it, they'll abandon ship and shut down support/servers, Looking at you ANTHEM. Im no longer buying games upon release. I'm just tired of all the weird shit in the gaming industry right now. Just give me a good game that works, please........

People are just waiting to get back to where we left off on ASE. Over time we condensed maps and few tribes stayed on the island meanwhile we moved onto abb and gen etc. I think the biggest thing that hurt Ark was them sunsetting all but Ark’s engine was way past due for an update as the engine was never meant to be what we knew it as at end of its life cycle.

Ascended is so poorly optimised on xbox series s that I just gave up.. doubt they even fixed the supply drops having no beams due to them turning the global illumination setting down with no way of changing it back on console

They should have never shut official support on ASE and forced ASA as a replacement. Then they release the maps one by one like day one ASE and expect to hold their playerbase? ASE did find half its player base till abb and rag. There's definitely still die hard ARK fans that will see ASA through and frankly theyre probably propping the game up currently 👏 i want to see ARK as a whole prosper but i think alot of greed has distracted from the true goal. THE ARK.

Player counts are deceiving what counts is sales. You don't have Xbox and Playstation numbers. On PC Ascended is inferior now but as maps are released people will return to it and others will buy it at a discount. Had they not wasted the money they had earned they could of sat on Ascended till all maps were completed then sold it as a remaster and made bank. Now their sales are going to come from deep discounts on PC which means little to nothing.

Ark is one of my favorite games. I like ascended. But it's like load crisis said at launch it only had one map I've just been waiting for more maps. Thankyou load crisis for this video. I will get back into ascended when I can. I really want ark 2 to come out asap. Even though I don't have the problems everyone have on this game, (possibly because I built my computer from scratch with a 2.5K budget) I agree with what people are saying about snail, they are slow in more ways than one(pun intended) I wish they would giva crap about the community. I'll get back in it for ark 2.

Im on xbox x and im loving the game, just being able to use mods is amazing. Also all the quality of life changes are great, it was rough at the beginning with not being able to save the game on singleplayer, but once that was fixed its been fine. There is the occasional crash now and then but evolved had that to so all in all im enjoying ascended.

The first couple weeks were good once dino render distance was lowered that was the beginning of the end. No new maps for months. Pay to tame creatures and over crowded official servers I quit about a month into scorched after I couldn't get on my server. Maybe I'll come back for gen 2 and crystal isles if it doesn't take another 5 years to come out
