@@WeedCop When the dlc was new, there were a few settlements across servers. People just aren’t fun with scorched earth anymore.

I personally like this DLC the most, I appreciate Aberration went without fliers for an extra challenge, but I like fliers. So SE is the perfect balance of while being more difficult then living on the island. Early on even in Single Player you have to take into account that Wyverns can randomly spawn and waste your base. Ragnarok is a great map as well and offers you the biome diversity, but a lot of things on the map in my opinion make it easier. Free crops in the highlands with Equus roaming right next to them. Free clay already made up on certain beaches (let me tell you I would love free clay right about now on SE even though I have a good system in creating it still a pain though), crates that can possibly hand out metal tools to new survivors.)

@@hyperdoge3908 Funny enough I have been really giving Aberration a go in the last week and I am quickly falling in love it. I am finishing out my kibble farm in the Green zone... kind of wish I made it closer to the border of the Blue zone and then I want to make a main crafting base in the Blue Zone. I decided to play a single player game on all Arks and start in Aberration and only transfer out once I get a Rock Drake and then come back after beating the bosses on the other maps to do Rockwell. I think it is becoming my favorite map even though I love my fliers and T-Rexs. The map is just well designed. I just wish they let you use Tree Platforms since you can put sap collectors on the large indestructible trees. I would still make cliff platforms regardless. Maybe it was a decision also made factoring PvP. As for Extinction it is ok. It feels unfinished as hell and at least on Xbox has horrible textures in some areas when rendering in the environment. Snow Owls are one of my favorite creatures though and are insane if bred properly.

@@sonicemitter6131 For a very new player, I think that The Island is a great map with the right amount of difficulty, I play mostly single player since I work. People often leave it because it is the very first map in the game. Aberration is very difficult especially for new players and it is hard to leave that map and use the transfer function (in PvE it is fine you can use a loot crate I think) but single player you need the Obeslisk in a very hard area of the map. Scorched Earth is the 2nd hardest the environment will punish you quickly and when I started out I was dying to heat waves and then there is a chance that once in a while a Wyvern will randomly spawn near your base. I had that happen and lost everything I didn't build in stone and adobe and it killed all my tames that weren't indoors. Also not to mention Sandstorms can also wreck you if you aren't prepared for them. The Island has it's challenges but it can help you gain experience so when you go to the harder maps you won't waste time not knowing what needs to be done as you progress. Also the Island has 4 bosses to take on with one of the bosses the Overseer being considered one of the main bosses of the game along with Rockwell on Aberration and the Alpha King Titan on Extinction. So even if the Island eventually gets a bit easy once you master the environment you can transfer or build up to fight the bosses. There are two other maps Ragnarok and the Center that are both great maps but aren't part of the core expansions. I recommend them after you at least played a couple of the core maps for a while. Ragnarok is one of my favorites but if you are an experience player you can take advantage of the way the resources are distributed and the higher level curve of the creatures.
