Ambulances aren't cheap anywhere. Not in the US neither in Pakistan. Average charge for an ambulance is 10000 pkr while average salaries are 40k pkr.

Depending on what state your in It would probably be at least a thousand But in Okc Ok you can pay an extra $3.65 on our water bill the ambulance is free. They started it a few years ago.

My mom got a fine for speeding when she realized I had a stroke. She went to the police station to pay the fine and said i don’t care about that fine, my son needed to go to the emergency room. The officer said keep the money and he’d do the same for his kids. Even I’m disabled now, this probably saved my life. Thanks mom ❤️

I myself will not call an ambulance although i know i have a private cover, i am just worried that my insurance will at the end will find an excuse not to cover me because they cost gem in Australia. I might just call an uber if no ones around and i go for labor lol

As someone who lost my grandma to a heart attack because I didn’t get her to the hospital fast enough.. I hope they drop her charges. Any half decent child would do the same if someone was dying in front of them, let alone their mom.

Instead of calling an ambulance? What if that high speed chase exasperated her medical situation? I understand the situation but it doesn’t excuse what was done? All it takes is one unsuspecting car on the road and the next chapter of this story is involuntary manslaughter charges with a high probability of conviction.

Plus, ambulance have the right of way, other cars will more likely to stop for ambulance than a random girl traveling at dangerous speed. You don't see an ambulance swerving in and out traffic at dangerous speed

I did the same thing when my husband was having a heart attack. Luckily we made it to the hospital in time without being stopped. He was 38 and passed when he turned 60. His heart finally gave out. 😢

My teacher's daughter ended up crashing her quad on a camping trip. My teacher was previously an RN who knew what it looked like to be internally bleeding. She rushed her to the truck and then to the hospital at over 100mph. She also called it in stating she wouldn't be stopping until she got to a hospital and would like an escort. She got that escort and her daughter is still alive today because of it

Dislocated my shoulder and broke my collarbone on orcas Island, although it's literally an unpopulated island for rich vacationers, in the hospital was less than a mile away that's 3,000 bucks. Not a single car on the road, I don't even remember them using their lights or the ambulance noise.

Start your own low cost budget ambulance service. Your motto can be "Low cost ambulance service, please don't sue if the ambulance breaks down. My friend's family owned an ambulance service for 30 years and they shut it down due to the high cost of business. They now have a towing business with the same name operating out of the same facility.

Yeah it should be free. Because no one should have to forego urgent care ánd to avoid situations like this. Because as understandable as it is, the police are of course right that it's really risky for everyone around to go racing through the streets, especially when you're under that much stress.

Sometimes it’s quicker to drive to the hospital than to call an ambulance. Also, an ambulance ride is $3,000. That’s not something everyone just has lying around.

That's why, if pulled over on the way, you stop for cops. Explain the situation fast. And EVERY time they'll let you call an ambulance, or let you continue, or give you an escort. Cops aren't dull to reasoning, she was fleeing police. :/ Not legal in any circumstance.

I was thinking that. Usually, in my country, whenever someone has hazards on its an emergency and police nearby will sometimes clear the road if necessary. I don't know why the police didn't consider that.

​@@izerigau3555 well not in my country, drivers are thought to give way to ambulance and hazard cars no hesitation people just give way, and you can't really abuse that because people will remember your car and traffic enforcers waits in traffic lights and patrol areas there's really no reason to block other people who are in a rush we don't use it for stupid things like late for school/work, I guess they don't teach that to you guys

I had a similar thing happen to me. I clocked a car going 90+ and pulled them over. Their son had his hand severely smashed on a piece of playground equipment. I took him in my car and told the family to safely drive to the hospital. I radioed ahead to the hospital and they met us at the ER entrance. The family later wrote a letter to the colonel saying that due to the fast action the boys hand was saved. I get that in this case they didn’t pull over, but sometimes compassion and understanding should outweigh the law and your ego driven adrenaline rush. Stuff like this is why police are losing the respect and trust of the public.

@@AznIntegra521 The video shows the police knowingly wasting the time of people enduring a medical emergency and completely failing to be situationally aware, given the obvious hospital a short distance away, of the likely motivation for the speeding. I understand that the speeding is not legal, but the priority is to render aid first and enforce traffic law second.

I would have done it a bit different. Once i saw the police after me, i would have either called dispatch and explained to them the situation to relay the message, or pulled over and told the cops myself. Either way, i would then be continuing my journey to the hospital. Quicker and safer. But i have half a brain, not all of us can say the same. The rest of us dont consider how the police will interpert it.... and dont understand the obvious repercussions of just ignoring the police.

@@zachpowell8653 INCORRECT - 30MPH is putting a pedestrian's life at risk if fyou hit them. You do realise people drive faster than that on the Autobahn EVERY DAY? It's all about the appropriate speed for the environement and 120MPH on a clear highway is no danger if the car and driver are capable of it. All speed limits are arbritrary and not based on scientific experriments on what is safe for the human body.

My mom fell down the stairs and broke her arm and was in a lot of pain. But unfortunately we knew we couldn’t afford the ambulance so we had to make the decision to drive. While this might not be their experience, a lot of people have to make this decision. Harsh reality in America.

As a Canadian, it is absolutely heartbreaking to me to read all of these comments about how an ambulance is too expensive. No one should ever have to make that decision. I was unaware of this, and am so upset by it. I can only pray that this is not will not always be the case.

Don't act like Canada has a perfect medical system. Ambulances are free but you have to wait over a year to get an appt with a specialist. My sister had to get insurance in Canada just to get a quicker appointment. America is perfect but it's better as a republic then a socialist state.

There were 3 people in the car at least. The person not driving or having the medical emergency could have called 911 and told the dispatcher that they were being chased by police but that they were going to the hospital. So easily avoidable.

The police don't need a medical emergency to violate the law, actually they don't need any reason at all to break the law. They're cops so they feel that they have more rights than the rest of us. If we try to do what they do then they believe they have the right to punish us and we are obligated to obey their every command and if we don't, then they get to protect and serve the crap out of us!.

But as soon as they told the police it was a medical emergency, the police should have escort them to the hospital and ticket her when the patient in crisis is safe. Delaying her trip for medical care to write the daughter up could have cost a life.

@@SpencerWilliamsIV There was a lot of bad judgment here. First buy the two girls in the car. Then all of the police officers tried to show that they could have even worse judgment. Know how many people suspect that if it was a different group of officers, they would’ve allowed the mother to die because their authority wasn’t respected. Every time the police say we’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, and there’s nothing we can learn from the situation. They simply look worse to the public.

Or you call 911 and tell them that u are in a rush and tell the license plate so they know there is a car going fast to the hospital. So when police see it maybe they can escort or just follow with lights on so it's easier for them to get to the hospital.

@@jmannii when someone is in a highly stressful situation they can have tunnel vision and making rationally decisions in a highly emotional state is difficult. I know the ambulance was not the issue . But the response to her actions was she should have called 911 and requested an ambulance. Once they made the decision it was faster to drive to the hospital that was the only goal in mind.

Tough call. I know someone who blacked out and was going thru a seizure after complaining of stroke symptoms. The cops were called, but a quick acting employee jumped in a car and drove to the nearest hospital...the cops didnt arrive to the location until well after the individual was already at the hospital....this is not to blame the cops, but if it were any of my children....I'm takin the risk of being that speed racer.

​@InfinitiAlexHow I think of it is his father getting sick is something that happened under the "natural" order of the world from us and creation being corrupted in the Fall and Him directly acting to stop a consequence of that like in this instance would've been a miracle. Miracles are rare by nature and though sought can't always happen and His goodness isn't dependent on them (Jesus performed miracles in the Bible but His goodness was already shown in His sacrifice for us). This also goes into the problem of evil ("why would God let my loved one be sick/die/etc?") and theodicies (defending God's goodness, I think), if you want to look into a deeper answer to this past what came off the top of my head.

From personal experience. A very long time ago I was speeding on the freeway on the way to my first daughter’s birth. I got pulled over by highway patrol, he asked me what was the reason for speeding and when I replied, and stating I was on the way to witness my first child being born! The amazing and awesome patrolman said follow me, he then fired up his sirens and was doing over 100 miles an hour all the way down the highway to the hospital and escorted me to the front door and wish me luck! I will never forget that great officer!! ❤

My aunt was in active labor and the hospital was a hour away. We had to speed there because she was literally about to give birth and an ambulance is too expensive and would’ve taken longer. We actually got pulled over by the police and explained the situation. The officer completely understood and gave us an escort to the hospital. I think the driver in the video could’ve gotten some lenience if she just pulled over and explained what was happening

I can see both sides of this. You need to be able to rush someone to a hospital. I’ve had to do it myself and yeah I drove fast. But at the same time, driving in a mad rush at over 100 mph can cause a major crash that kills multiple people, including innocent bystanders. Like I said, I did it myself. I tried to call 911 on the way to tell them so they could tell any cops on the way. But I reached the hospital before 911 answered, so a fat lot of good they were.

Exactly. I would rather make payments for an ambulance that risk the patient dying in my presence, not being able to resuscitate them, or have them die. Plus you are risking your life and the lives of others driving at that speed. Nobody can afford to pay for an ambulance but at least, your loved ones may make it safer to the hospital and have more of a chance to survive with paramedics near to the patient. But, I do understand their panic and reaction.

Five miles! Five miles police were in pursuit of that vehicle!!! At over 100 mph! That is a danger to the public. There is no excuse for that. And they didn’t pull over.

She wasn’t having a heart attack. Did you listen to the story? She was discharged the day before. Hard time breathing and tingling/numbness in the hands is most likely a panic attack. The bias you have towards the police is clear in your comments. We get, everyone hates the police. But if they hit you at over a 100 MPH for something that clearly wasn’t a real emergency you would want police to be prosecuting them.

This is an awfully statist story. If your loved one is having a heart attack, speed. My uncle dropped dead in the middle of a sentence, time is pretty important. When seconds count, don't count on 911.

For those who day call an ambulance, an ambulance ride in this country can cost a family 20k. We don't know their insurance status. It is very possible they decided not to call due to a financial decidision. We need badly need a Universal style Healthcare system in this country.

@@kevin6293 it's absolutely not. Ambulances are a minimum of 3-5K and that's for a 5-10 minute ride. Anything rural where the nearest hospital is 30+ miles is easily 15K+. I know, I've footed the bill before.

I lived in rural Texas when I was stung by bees. Started having an allergic reaction. My father drove at high speeds to get me to the hospital. Waiting for the ambulance was not an option. He did stop for the police and they took one look at me and let us go.

Completely the opposite opinion: there should be a law requiring all marked police cars to go a MINIMUM of 15 over the posted speed limit. Whenever a cop goes less than that, nobody wants to pass him, and he creates a creeping traffic jam. But some do so because their boss is scared of public opinions like yours, that police should have to crawl along as slowly as the rest of us. They're public servants with authority & responsibility over the transportation system, of course they're special! ...LET them get ahead of us to take care of problems before we arrive at them!

I have been in that area many times going to the hospital. If she was going to Baptist Hospital, the road she was on dead ends at the hospital. Either way, she was nearing the entrances to the hospital. The sign on the side of the road is a directional sign for different lanes for the hospital. As for 911, I am in a rural part of the state, and repsonce time for 911 is 20 to 25 minutes at best to get to my home.

Same situation happened with my dad back in the day. He was stabbed in the neck by a random guy and bleeding. He was near his car and sped to the hospital. A cop pulled him over (not pit maneuver) and seen he had blood coming from his neck and escorted him to the hospital. I’ll never forget the smell in the vehicle when he got back home from the hospital, the blood was everywhere. Time is of the essence and you don’t think to wait on hold for an ambulance when you think you my loose a life or even your life.

I live in philadelphia and called the police because my wife’s car was stolen and they never showed up. I actually had GPS tracking and found the car myself and got lucky that police was a block away from what looked like a CHOP shop but the police said it was an abandoned building which held like 9 dogs. If you call the ambulance in philadelphia you would be lucky if they showed up in 30 minutes. When in an emergency and you know they are unreliable you better off doing things yourself. When it comes to the govt everything is slow.

Both stances hold merit. Speeding is extremely dangerous, the threat a car out of control poses for other drivers, its occupants and anyone who may be on the street at the time shouldn't be understated. But the rush of saving your own life or that of your loved ones is completely understandable. It's the risk of taking a life while trying to save another that concerned these cops.

Most cops will let you speed 20-30 mph over the limit to go to the hospital but they won't let you weave in and out of traffic or Parnell Jones the off ramp.
