Here in South Dakota we've been on river flood warnings for 3 months. A lot of farmers can't even get to the dry parts of the fields to plant them, insurance claims already filed too. Best of luck to yall out there.
Excessive ice melt in Canada lead to Niagara dam breakage falls and water diversion to central America of no possible water outlet. Floodings are heavenly made. Including Icy melt of lake Erie.
Whilst we can't undo what's happening, we can adapt. Time to change production from Corn to Rice, because all that flooding makes Perfect rice paddy fields.

for the only thing that the dams are used for, navigation purposes that they say they are to control the level of the waters is true, as long as they do not get out of control, with floods like these, the dam only controls the water so that the navigation channels, are always above the level of the river, in fact obstruct the water drain with more rapids, and another negative of the dam is that it is always at its normal level, they are already exceeded their natural levels, in fact it is a flood made on purpose
Its just living on the river. Have to plan for flooding periodically. It hurts no doubt but they are there growing for the world for a reason, the best land. Ma-nature is awsome! So when it happens we need to be aware and help.
