The ASP Behind the Blue profile series will take you in the car with the troopers of the Arkansas State Police. This week we hop in with the Highway Patrol Divison's Troop A Corporal Trey Keller.
Growing up in Arkansas all of life and working in the trucking business for 18 years I will say that I have the most respect for the Arkansas State Police. Every time I seen one they carry themselves more professional than any other agency out there and the few interactions I have had with them was respectful and I know people hate getting speeding tickets but they have seen more accidents than I can imagine and they want to see you make it home safely at the end of the day just like they want to go home to their family when their shift is over. I Appreciate the Arkansas State Police for all the hard work they do from keeping us safe, assisting us, and taking drugs off the streets. Stay safe and God bless you all.
A New Mexico state Trooper saved me & my son from hypothermia 1 time. I was driving on 39 South & ran out of fuel. That road has no gas stations for like over 100 miles. It was about 17% that night in the desert. Had no cell signal nothing. Was able to call 911 on it thank god & about a hour later the Trooper showed up with 5 gallons of fuel for me from his house. He said all I ask is u fill it back up. I was so happy I filled it & got em a hot coffee . It was 4am by then. 1 of the nicest, generous, respectful officer I've ever came across. Me & my son may have died. That temp was dropping fast.
PROFESSIONAL. THE BEST. I'm forever indebted to our Arkansas State Police for saving my life 17 long years ago. I had gone through a painful divorce, lost my job, got hooked on pain killers, wrecked 3 cars, but never got arrested. I could've killed innocent people, myself...I was a mess. A very professional calm ASP trooper placed me under arrest handcuffs in front after he helped me out of another wrecked car with slight injuries. I was straight up with him and he said something like maybe I wasn't trying to get away from him so much as my then troubled self. I've been sober ever since. THANKS AND GOD BLESS YOU ASP!!
I worked dispatched "for sherwood Ar" years ago and yes every time an office changes location that MUST be communicated. To not do so would be very dangerous and/or careless and for a department to not operate in a similar fashion would be in the minority or at least I would hope.
