Yall should listen to Running by Retrofile .. Another Canadian group i just heard on the radio!! Arkells are forever my #1 tho 😉 wish theyd come back to new york!
I know this is a bit random, but I just realized what the X on the hand lyrics were talking about and it makes so much more sense! It was in a game I recently played and I wondered what it meant, and now I understand. But this is an amazing song, and for me, locally made!
Hey Cheryl! I was approached by the owner to work at this cheapies! Remember there was a MacDonalds on the corner ? Ugh my parents said no way to working at Cheapies. I feel I lost out big time ☹️
lol so friggen true some of the best Canadian bands get no recognition and then abominations like nickelback and the biebs are frontrunners it's quite sad
You were all done up, but it wasn't for me You were up at the front, t-tapping your feet I was back at the bar; you had your eyes on the stage You had an "x" on your hand to tell em' your age I didn't put my money on it, but I was hoping that you would be here If I was something that you ever wanted, I'm all ears, I'm all ears You made a wish at 11: 11 I held your hips at 12: 34 There was a kiss just waiting to happen A cab was calling outside the door Oooooohhhhhh I knew from the beginning It was you from the beginning Excuses disguised all the ones before I'd be convincing myself they could be something more I said "If you go home and get on the phone And tell your girlfriends about me I'll go home and sleep on my own And dream of a girl named Lonnie" I couldn't hold a candle to you, but you were glowing in the dark I was nervous just standing with you, you were glowing in the dark You made a wish at 11: 11 I held your hips at 12: 34 There was a kiss just waiting to happen A cab was calling outside the door Oooooohhhhhh I knew from the beginning It was you from the beginning And you weren't even trying Your dirty blonde hair had me going wild You were a little bit shy then There's no denying something so true You made a wish at 11: 11 I held your hips at 12: 34 There was a kiss just waiting to happen A cab was calling outside the door Oooooohhhhhh I knew from the beginning It was you from the beginning
The Arkells are one of the most down to earth bands that I know. They have great stage atmosphere & always seem comfortable in front of a crowd. I've seen them twice at K-Days & cannot wait to see them again. I hope you guys come back to Edmonton & continue making amazing music !
saw you tonight at the commodore for the first time 💕 my girlfriend loves you, and i came along and fell in love. max, you are truly magical on that stage 👐 words dont describe the feels i felt during this song and the whole show - love from beautiful british columbia xo ❤
I used to listen to this song all the time in high school and now that I'm an adult I just realized I currently live in the city where this was filmed. I've been in that record store a million times.
Spent Many MANY Years working (as a "Volunteer" for CDs) in record stores owned by a close Friend... This Video reminds me of the Great Times we had introducing customers to Songs and Bands... Cool Video! Haven't Seen THIS before... Thank You for sharing it l. ❤
I wonder what the Charlemagne demo tape was about 3:22. The only Charlemagne song I know is from Blossoms, while that was released in 2015, it was in october so unlikely to be in this video. I'm confused.
Lovely music and thanks for your participation, Arkells! 01:30 into the song. U.S. Army/Marines/Military shoutout on the vest with the pins and slogan on back: "Kill Em All. Let God Sort Em Out." Follow the White Rabbit.
Do you think it's really a reference to the American military when the expression has also been used by various bands for decades and (having just looked it up) the expression has existed for over 800 years?
Coupe Grey ! Franco fier Hamilton! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦♥️♥️YK Cb AB TNO SSK MAN ONT QUÉ NT NB IPE NÉ TNL Best band are from Canada ! Coast to coast Grande réconcilitation Canada 2022-2050. On est le meilleur pays no matter what. Jme vois trop mettre ça au Archambault Boucherville. Fender Jaguar nice
Totally valid point, and yeah it's a little odd casting. But I think that this music video is conceptually trying to step outside the normalized structure where the events of the song and the video are simultaneous. I think that in this case they were thinking that the video takes place after this song has been released. The video is not "boy meets girl at a concert"; it's "boy meets girl by both appreciating a song about following up on a crush". So I'm totally overthinking this whole thing, but I think that the concept behind the video goes beyond just the basic sort of romanticized concert hookup, and is more about two people who believe in sudden love taking advantage of a shared worldview and an appreciation of great music.
