I think it is because after some time it would be Impossible to complete the tracking if you messed up to much, then, the game would have to restart the mission, wich I think would be hard to code.
@@Luigi-hn1hu I think would be boring repeat all again, maybe it's made that way for add more dialogues, and you can hear it all, in other case, they would make you fail in the own call
I like the cops in the Arkhamverse. Some portrayals of Batman have the GCPD hate Batman for various reasons but the Arkham games actually show that a lot of them like Batman and recognize his importance because they know how insane Gotham really is. I also like that some of them have real personalities. Michaels is the best example of both with him commenting on how out of their depth they are in Arkham City.
I love how unique each of the gang bosses' bases are, and I consider the Iceberg Lounge/Museum my favorite, as you can see that Cobblepot really put his pride and soul into creating the attractions and collections, even if they are a little messed up. Two Face's courthouse maybe temporary and small, but in the end, he manages to take control of the majority of Arkham City. I also like how Joker's Steel Mill is isolated from the rest ie the bridge that's been blown off, preventing access to it.
@@hippittyhopp2379 Yeah, I feel like Joker and Penguin were the only major factions that had a solid base of operations before Arkham City, since Two Face, even though he had a gang, only took the Courthouse from Calendar Man when the city was initiated
Late reply. But all the dialogue of Joker telling Batman to kill is when you are on the way to the GCPD to get the cure from freeze. As soon as you finish interrogating sharp and make your way there, Joker calls Batman and challenges him to get there without getting shot up by his goons. This dialogue is unavoidable. But because you can literally glide all the way to GCPD without any trouble from his thugs on the rooftops, the extra dialogue doesn't trigger. It took me a LOT of playthroughs to realise he even had guys posted on the rooftops because it's so easy to slip by them without even knowing they're there lmao
Man, is there no end to the amount of secret dialogue in this game? Every time I think I've seen everything, videos like these prove me wrong. I don't think I've seen any developer be this thorough with putting stuff like this in a game.
@@skxlter5747there is still stuff to find out. Last time i checked the creators said there is still more easter eggs to discover. Lets see how the switch trilogy remakes give us hints.
@@solodolo4098I’ve heard the same throughout the years from the Arkham community, but I don’t think I recall having come across when Rocksteady divulged about there “still being easter eggs” in Arkham City, specifically. Do you happen to have a link to a video or social media post that serves as confirmation? Maybe it was a snarky ploy by the developers to keep people playing the game and the franchise alive? Not that most of us would complain. However, I’d appreciate transparency from the studio after the whole “the Arkham Knight is a brand new character” debacle.
I love the reference they make to Modern Warfare 2 at 5:18 For those who don't know, when MW2 released back in 2009, they also released a special edition which included a pair of night vision goggles, similar to what Penguin's thugs are wearing during this segment.
I think my favorite one is before you enter the church for the first time you can hear one of the thugs say something about Harley being a man before. I think it’s a subtle nod to how her motion capture for asylum was done by a man (I think most of the characters mocap was done by one guy). Also Jokers calls are a nice precursor to his role in Arkham Knight.
Very nice! All the guards in the intro to Arkham Asylum, before Joker gets free, all have individual dialog if you go talk to them while walking. All you really have to do is talk to people whenever you can and listen whenever you can, and you can hear a whole bunch of stuff you wouldn't otherwise.
I was gonna say the same. People are primarily visual, and the goal of design is usually to make the production end seem invisible so the results are more immersive, so good sound design is so often overlooked. I'm just now starting to develop my appreciation for it
@@ericfieldman I just love it when games pay attention to details like sound, facial expression, body movement/language, tone, pre existing lore, etc. Guess it explains my love for AC's gameplay
@@Black_Knight_-BK- for sure. And from my very small bit of world experience, it seems like it's not actually that complex to add some of those finer details, but they go far
7:56 100 rounds a minute? That's garbage for anything full auto. Think about it, that's _less_ than two rounds a second. Most assault rifles in full auto can blow through a 30 round magazine in less than *FOUR* seconds. It's possible this was intentional, to show Penguin doesn't know what he's talking about… but IMHO this likely was just critical research failure.
So you find it easier to believe in lazy game developers than criminals that are intentionally written as egotistical gloaters? That's.....interesting.
5:15 This is definitely a little reference to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2009)'s Prestige Edition where consumers would receive night vision goggles alongside the game as a (pre-order) bonus.
Thank you for uploading this. I can’t imagine how much hard work it must have been. I had to make the difficult decision to prepare my Xbox 360 for a sale because it went unused and took up space, but when I still played this game, as a dialogue hunter, I discovered some of these other ones myself, and I think my absolute favorite, aside from during the fight against Mr. freeze, is the display cases in Penguin’s museum, and Michaels’ reaction to all of them. Now, thanks to you, whether or not a find a way to play the game again, I can listen to my favourite rare dialogues anytime I want without relying on save files. I’m extremely grateful for you, I really am.
its funny how they talk about them using military grade guns in arkham city but i swear the stealth missions were way harder in arkham asylum like you could take a good 3 or 4 shots before you just die
I honestly have heard all of this dialogue before but the one with Bat's telling Alfred that the gang war is escalating I've only gotten once, how do you trigger that. Also there's secret dialogue if you don't do the Identity thief missions after the main quest as Barbara will report to Bruce and tell you where to find the bodies. This just so happens to have my favorite line from Barbara in the entire series which is "What is it with serial killers and ally ways?"
I love how the cops whenever they hear the stuff that penguin has they act like any normal kid who goes to the rich kids house for the first time and see all the cool fancy things that nobody else has that they know.
@@Black_Knight_-BK- "I read the manual and it said nothing about working underground." "Yeah, they work." "If you say so." "Since when have you been into reading?" "I read!"
Man, i knew almost all of these dialogues, but WTF, you don't need to detect Zsaz location and game give it to you automatically??? How come no one told met his back in the days, man?? This is mind blowing! And i was wasting my time on trying to beat that side mission with Zsaz, but it turns out that, you don't even have to do that! That is crazy, man! 🤯😲
@@ericfieldman What do you mean by "if you do play the game"? I played the game god knows how much, but I never ever know about this. That the game gives away Zsas location to you if you fail to track him.
@deathcold_longplaysua4846 I mean the game of tracking the dot on the screen. If you do it you find him faster, but if you just don't move the cursor at all it automatically gives you the location when you hit every phone
ive heard every peace of audio from arkham city let me just tell u u did a very good job picking out rare audio its almost like you knew what hardcore batmans arkham fans who played it over and over again hadnt heard weird unless it comes from files
I've been playing the Arkham Games for over 1000 hours across all the games, and I had no idea that if you look at enemies standing near an objective, you get extra dialogue. Holllllly Dialogue Batman!
0:00 Dang, I heard that one on my first playthrough all the way back in 2011, and I've been trying to retrigger it in every subsequent playthrough ever since and have failed every time. I thought it got removed or patched out by accident or something. Gonna have to try sitting in that exact position and waiting for the dialogue to trigger in my next playthrough. I've heard the rest of the dialogue in this video though. I guess that's what happens when you religiously replay a game to 100% completion once every couple years (Or more) since it's release. I haven't seen your other videos so you may have covered this already, but I think the most rare obscure dialogue in this game is an exchange between Hugo Strange and a random Tyger Helicopter Patrol upon first seeing Batman in Arkham City. The reason why it's so rare is because it only triggers in the downloadable 15 minute Demo for the game, it never actually triggers in the final game normally. (But I wish it did)
Its really amazing, how this game has been out for a decade now and we are still finding out things about it. Shows just how much backbone the devs put into this.
The first one comes naturally when you’re on your way to fight Freeze, after you hear the first one you wait around, I’ve found that taking out the thugs on the rooftops makes it trigger faster
I never knew the game just said "We give up, here's Zsaz's location" I'll do that more often then... Also I didn't know the GCPD had comments about the military weapons. I really need to focus more on this game.
Me to I never heard of that dialog as a kid I didn’t care much about dialog I just wanted to achieve missions and Xp/secrets not involving dialog ,I heard some rare dialog but there are the other half that i probably never heard before and the first rare dialog from the video goes to show in lore that Arkham city became a place of chaos because of the many criminals making the area unsecure which ultimately made the destruction of Arkham city hence why there are rumbles of buildings in the ocean and flood every were and building are not intact properly.
@@teleportedbreadfor3days Regardless that's something he'd probably keep to himself. He's faced freeze several times and for all Bruce knows several times in the future. Having a secret kill switch would do wonders. Even just for the first few times.
Omg I actually HADN'T heard any of these before!! Granted City is the one game in the trilogy i've played the least but HECK, I thought I knew these games back to front! I am humbled and grateful to be listening to these. Esp love the Joker voice mails - a nice precursor to his Arkham Knight persona
... I really dont wanna be _that guy_ , but like... I literally was aware of every single line of dialogue in this video. Well made video, but like... a true fan would've heard them.
