Thanks for sharing. I just upgraded to the Collectors edition, and I was wondering about the new products. I'm, actually working from home, and the sounds along with your voice made for a really soothing environment. Much
I just bought this after listening to your complete walkthrough in the other video. It's an absolute steal at $99.50, on Black Friday sale right now. First of all, thanks so much for the comprehensive and wonderfully musical presentation. Secondly, I laughed so hard when you guessed that a full preset presentation of Arkhis would last a half hour... 3 HOURS LATER...😅
You bet! There aren’t a ton of more transient samples (such as pianos, etc) as most of the sounds are more-so long, sustained samples. As I play it, I essentially play it just as I would any synth pad or string patch.
@@GregAllison Thank you so much for your reply this means a lot to me. I have purchased a Roland FP-10 to use as my MIDI controller. Unfortunately it only has a sustain pedal jack and no expression pedal jack. I was hoping I could use it for arkhis and have a separate expression pedal to control the layer blend in arkhis as this keyboard has no mod wheel. Since I cannot connect my continuous expression pedal to the keyboard I need to find a way to connect the pedal to the daw directly. This has proven to be way more difficult than I expected as there seems to be no standalone midi expression pedal on the market. Please let me know if you could think of a solution.
I see the dilemma. It looks like Beat Bars is the only company that makes a USB standalone expression pedal. It’s a fairly steep price for the simple product at $190. I’ll keep checking and see if I can find a modest solution for that. Some sort of TRS to USB adapter would be perfect.
VERY overrated product. All very nice - but - why can't one fade into another or as one moves the mod wheel? just a thought and would have resulted in 3 times more sound options.
Being version 1.0, I’m sure there will be more improvements and features as updates to the instrument come out. Overall, I was very pleased with the timbres the instrument was able to produce, even just from the stock presets. It might not be the best instrument to create “that one sound” you hear in your head, but it’s been a blast to play with.
