The curse feeds on her inner emotions and she's always been incapable of properly emoting (probably never learned how to or wasn't born with the capability). For her, it seems to be a matter of life and death: the more emotion she feels, the more the curse expands and thus likely the shorter her lifespan. It could very well be a situation of: what is therapy for someone like her? What therapist could even be truly trusted? Would simply opening up and being vulnerable enough to heal work or would that advance the curse? Would she be a responsible adult if she worked at healing if it meant shortening her life so much that the kids no longer had her around? Considering how she insists the kids have friends and open up to them, I highly doubt she hasn't tried the same herself in her adulthood. I read it more as...she probably tried to, realized it doesn't help in the long run given her curse and opted to take a cold, but honest and caring approach. Sure, she may not hug you, but she'll make sure you have a feast for your birthday full of your favorite foods and some heartfelt--if monotone--words of affirmation. She's kind of like a better adjusted Wednesday.

That do make sense and she always brings her cake when we know who likes cake in Arlecchino’s scenario. She was really angry with her during the archon quest idk the act where the hydro pump says he is the hydro dragon because she felt Furina is not capable to protect Fontaine and this might hurt her kids from the house of hearth (Arlecchino sq). She didn’t had any personal intention or goal to purposefully hurt Furina. Im still wondering how on earth was she able to identify Furina is in curse..that woman really has some sort of dark power which I really hoped they would bring it in her sq and was a bit dissatisfied, maybe for the future update.

Not so sure about this dynamic since there is a fairly good chance Arlecchino would have met or at least seen Furina in her role as Archon when she herself was a child.
