I wasn't thinking about the performance part. My original intention was to just replace the stripped back plate with a reasonably priced filter that uses the stock housing. It wasn't until I got it on that I seen how much bigger it is. I would say its about an inch wider.
Nice video. I’m awaiting arrival of the AN to change out my SE as well. SE is fine, but 20% more air and the catch pan to keep the oil off the filter are calling my name. Likely will later drill and tap the standoffs and put an external catch can or breather to completely get the oil out of the compartment.
Hey Dugan, I will be in the market to get a better than "stock" air cleaner/filter for my 3 bikes of choice. All are rather small(500-750cc'd engines) with whimpy breathing. They sound like a Fisher-Price/Playskool scooter-NOT good!😵😭. Doug, 58 years young and a first time rider!🇺🇸👍🐻🦅❤️🧸🤓
Oh no, not the Fisher-Price/Playskool scooter sound! Time to give those bikes a serious upgrade with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner kit. Your neighbors will appreciate it too!
My neighbor's kids are already looking at my bike with the intent to "ride" it to the playground at the park (seeing the neighbor kid trying to "be cool" with the newest "ride" on the block) BE AFRAID! This is why I need the upgrades for my motorcycle! DESPERATELY!🥺😱 Doug
@@SnifftyDugan Hey Biker Big Daddy, does Arlen Ness have a "customer service number to call? What about an email address for the product questions? I seem to be a "phiti" (fish) out of water on this matter, and, I need to get some SERIOUS upgrade information-quick! Doug, I contacted you 2 weeks ago after seeing your "Arlen Ness Big sucker air cleaner video, subscribed as well.🏍️👍 Doug
Hi I bought this one Arlen Ness Chrome Finish Stage I Big Sucker Kit with Standard Filter 18-458, it say use Standard Filter 18-458, but can't find this filter "Standard Filter 18-458" Where to buy it or can you use K and N filters on it? Thank you
The instructions in my kit say to remove the electrical connection at the base of the throttle body. Is this critical ? I see that you did not. I can't even see how to unplug it !
No I figured it out. I think what they were referring too was to remove the wire that was attached to the bracket and secure it, not actually removing it from the throttle body.
No, just a larger filter. A stage one would be this mod plus a new head pipe. Once you get rod of the catalytic converter and the filter, you need to tune it. The cat restricts alot of air flow. Once you open that up, you need to add more go juice or you will run lean and hot
