As a former service member among many family members who served, this service was deeply touching. As a Christian and believer, the Chaplain's prayer touched my soul and was considerably encouraging. May God continue to bless that family.

As a former old guard soldier, performing over 1000 of these ceremonies, this still hit hard. The greatest job I ever had was showing final honors and respect to fallen heroes. Thank you for your service CPT Dancer and thank you to the family for allowing this to be uploaded.
I think every American should visit this peaceful resting place for our brave hero's that gave their all to keep our Country the Greatest place in the world to live. The changing of the guards is something that words can't describe. Their uniforms are indescribably and perfectly creased their every move is above perfect all of this while being completely aware of their surroundings and prepared to protect the sacred area. Not to get rude but anyone that disrespects our gorgeous American Flag should be made to spend several months learning about what the true definition of freedom is and who and how it's maintained.
I’m a self proclaimed “funeral nerd”, so I’m used to watching videos like this. What is being shown is called a “rental casket”. It’s a casket that holds cremated remains and can be reused. The design also shown is a casket, not a coffin. Coffins are seen in the UK and are shaped like a person, and caskets are used in North America and have a rectangular appearance. The reason the flag is wrapped on the casket is to protect it from rain or snow. I have also visited Arlington when I was in DC. Great place, I love it to my core. My respect goes to every single soldier who went and risked their life for their country, and I hope I can be one of them too. Fly high brother!
@@chloekit4861 world war 2. Grandfather in pacific theater, grandmother with the army air corps. Met after the war and they moved to work form.. he moved to Henderson hall and she moved to the pentagon once it was built. She was also the first women secretary in the army before enlisting.

This brings back memories. I was on the base burial team for Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery Alabama, from April 1959 to July 1960. We buried several veterans as well as active military persons during that period of time. We did not have the horse drawn caissson but we did have the pallbearers, flag bearers, the rifle volley team with the 21 guns salute and the bugler playing TAPS. We also did the folding and presentation of the flag to the prooper survivor.

No matter for what service the funeral is conducted when the flag is passed on to member of the family before handing Old Glory over it is said " On behalf of a grateful nation."
My Dad had one of these funerals at Arlington Cemetery , Marine Aviator. , I think much larger with over 300 Naval Aviators there even an austonut and three Marine Medao of Honors. The VMFA-121 did the missing man fly over. The Commandant gave the folded up flag to my Mom. I was already in PTSD. My Dad had all the companies of Marines from Marine barricks and Marine headquarters marching there.
Not only is it direspectful to him but also all the other military families that have lost someone they love. Like My family who lost their cousin and son in Afghanistan and brother
One Black Serviceman's family never saw this honor, his Name was Doris Miller and lies in eternal rest along with shipmates on the USS Liscome Bay. As he went down with the carrier.
People like you brining race into it for what reason? My grandfather was KIA on a B-29 halfway between Tinian and Tokyo and did not get this individual honor, but exactly like Doris Miller is honored in "Courts of the Missing" in Honolulu. Black service men who died in wwii were honored exactly like white ones
it bothers me, in the fact that all who served on the field of battle cant receive full military honors. but then again all who volunteered for the military. even they ,if called to combat would be willing to give their all. as a combat service man who served in Vietnam thank you to all that serve. weather you realize it or not you are a man or woman of distinction today ,given the state of thangs in America today. Rank matters, and also if KIA or not. Lots of peopel buried at Arlington are soldiers who fought, survived a given war, and were buried there when they died. Also there are military honors even if you are buried in your home civilian cemetary

If A veteran or someone who is not an veteran but did serve in the Military and that person is A Roman Catholic they will without exceptions must have there funeral service inside of A Roman Catholic Church then the Committal Service at Arlington If you where to ask why the Roman Catholic Church can't move the Holy Tabernacle outside of the Catholic Church which must be present at all funeral services and they cover the person who passed away with A white Cloth not A United States Flag unless the family request it and the Large Candle at the baptismal fount must be lit during the funeral service and the Holy Incense must be used and the Holy Water and the Roman Catholic Priest will wear white during the funeral service and then when the person is laid to rest the priest will bless the grave or the niche all of these are not negotiable during the Holy Roman Catholic Funeral Service and they will NEVER ALLOW SCATTERING ASHES

NOW THE CASE OF THE DISAPPEARING HEAT PACK HAS BEEN SOLVED IT WAS PLACE IN THE TRAP DOOR IN THE BACK OF THE CASKET
